Do I need to configure the FLXA402T for FC or TB? When ordering the suffix code TB or FC will make sure the programming is already done for that measurement It has two input modules, what can be connected on each module?

Which detector / sensor has to always go first? When using FC and TB always have FC on module 1 How many decimal points will the FLXA402T show? Maximum is three decimal points, standard 2 decimal points Can the Auto Range switching be turned off? Yes, it can be turned off Which buffer tables pH are available in the FLXA402T? Same as FLXA402 (NIST, DIN and US) Can we measure conductivity and resistivity? What is the technical reason why RC800 cannot connect seconds input? Uses a large capacity and takes up a lot of space, that is why only one sensor can be connected The manual solenoid valve is for FC to control the flow between 0.1 and 2.5 m/s? Cannot be used for flow control, it is a on/off function like for automatic wash function When will digital (SENCOM) be possible to be connected? TB820D – TURBIDITY DETECTOR Where is the Turbidity analyzer produced? It is produced in the Komine factory in Japan Which CE marking will FC/TB applied only electrical or mechanical as well? MSD (Machinery Safety Directive) does not apply to FC/TB. FC/RC/TB is applied LVD, EMC, RoHS and REACH regarding CE marking Will the product have NSF61 certification? FC cannot pass NSF61 because of two reasons. (1) Scrapped beads particles and part of measurement electrode flow int sample water, (2) reference electrode (AgCl) dissolve in sample water. On the other hand, TB probably pass NSF61, but it is not designed for in-line measuring. Both of FC and TB, measured water should be sent to a drain for the safety point of view. YHQ decided not to get NSF61 certificate because customer possibly misunderstand that YOKOGAWA analyzer can use in-line measurement if FC/TB get NSF certificate and it makes customer confused. That analog conductivity input does it mean SC or ISC or either? FLXA402T can connect only contacting conductivity (SC). Are the filters the same as those that we used on the TB750G Yes, 0.2um mesh filter What is the method of compensation for LED light change, intensity control or by calculation for measurement value? Use both methods. As a function, Reference Detector monitoring intensity and compensate detected value by calculation. This Reference Detector is also used for keeping light intensity by changing current. Keeping light intensity is designed for stable measurement in high turbidity. However, in practice, LED light intensity is controlled by current and compensation by calculation function is performed after LED current is over a threshold. On TB750G the maximum cable length from analyzer to detector was 3M length, what is it now? Maximum cable length is 20m 4

What is the projected life of the LED light for spare parts recommendation? Recommend LED replace frequency is every 3 year. How the calibration value of check block is controlled? In case of TB400 the value variation is bigger due to plastic calibration plate. Calibration value of check block control method is same as current model. However, the problem caused from lamp-lens adjustment. In new products, the distance between lens and LED is fixed and we think this problem is improved. When would someone have to clean the check block? Cleaning frequency is application dependent, however both EPA and ISO will state an annual clean and calibration as a minimum. Good water authorities will also have their own operating instructions. Once per month is common. In case without Ultrasonic cleaning and automatic cleaning, we recommend cleaning TB every week as a maximum. However, it is completely application dependent and once per month is common in Japanese customer too. Is there any actual test data how air bubbles cannot be trapped inside cell? We compare with 8562 and TB700. According to flow analysis, we found TB700/750 flow on the windows are very slow and easy to dirt. Because of this slow flow, customer complained TB700 became unstable and we needed to add nozzle to improve this problem. Of course, bubble trap is effective, but we can remove them by deforming tank. In addition, we found small bubbles are not trapped and they flow with stream. On the other hand, keep clean windows is difficult to achieve. So, we decided to design structure to flow directory on the windows and lost bubble trap instead. Are there any metal wetted parts? I am thinking about saline applications No, there are no metal wetted parts. We consider using resin parts (including Plumbing). Can the check block be re-ordered when it is lost? Customer can order check block again, but the analyzer need to calibrate by standard solution. Insert check block to calibrated analyzer and decide check block Turbidity value. Is TB820D is suitable in Sea water/ wastewater application. Area classification? We will not take area classification like ISO12944. Sea water / Wastewater measurement are technically possible but TB820D is not suitable. In desalination plant application, TB830D is available because sample water is relatively clean. However, TB820D is designed for water supply market and sea water /wastewater is too dirt to use. In addition, the required measurement in WW is suspended solids (SS) not turbidity. In case customer uses TB820D in WW, grab sample calibration is necessary because TB820D is 5

calibrated by Formazine (NTU; EPA standard, FNU; ISO standard) or Kaorin (mg/L; Japanese Turbidity standard), and TB820D is not calibrated by Suspended Solid (mg/L)*. *Japanese Turbidity unit “mg/L” and Suspended Solid unit “mg/L are completely different definition. Can we buy ST401T or should we prepare by ourselves? No, you cannot. Please SI by your side. However only RC800D can provide with stanchion because pump adjustment is very technical. Does the new Turbidity analyzer comply to EPA 180.1? The new TB is not compliant to EPA180.1 because EPA180.1 requires a tungsten lamp and LED is not acceptable. The previous model had a bubble trap. Will the new analyzer have the same? There is no bubble trap included in the new model. This because experience has shown that a dirty glass window is causing more problem s than the air bubbles. The bubble trap is effective to remove large bubbles, but not effective for the smaller bubbles. Customers have informed us that they have more problems with keeping the windows clean or cleaning them. In the new construction, the sample water will directly pass the window, and creates a selfcleaning effect resulting is less contamination of the windows. HACH also has changed their design. their previous analyzer had a water trap but their latest model does not. In short HACH's new model is installed without extra water trap and Yokogawa's new TB can now also be installed without any head tank. What is anti-bubble software? Does it replace the bubble trap somehow or complement the present new design with the flow past the window? It is recommended to use a defoaming tank. Sudden changes in turbidity can be regarded as bubbles and removed from the turbidity readings. It is a function to remove the effect of changing What is the life expectancy of the light source? Does the checkplate always need to be ordered? Yes, it cannot be ordered afterwards as it is paired with the detector What is difference between calibration and correction? Calibration is used standard by customer, sensitivity correction etc. is usually not done by customer. Is the check plate paired with the unit like with the old model? Yes, it is used in pairs. Will the flowcell and light be on the CMPL Yes, it will be listed Does the anti-bubble software influence the response time of the sensor? The turbidity is measured by averaging process. If this time is increased, it will affect the response time, so if the sudden change in turbidity is more than a certain value, it can be avoided in the calculation in the analyzer. When replacing Light source are any adjustments required? No it has a self-alignment function, its only one screw and one small twist turn to replace Why has the design been changed and no longer includes the bubble trap? With bubble trap flow is not passed by the window and becomes easier dirty. In new model design the flow goes past the window and is self-cleaning A5 - relay box for solenoid valve -what is included? Only box is included, cables, solenoid valve and filter need to be bought separately

What is the maximum cable length?

Standard included 1-meter cable, but optionally up to 20 m can be selected. If longer than separate power supply for FLXA402T is required, or a tokuchu. Max. 100 meter is possible. Which mounting options are available? Wall mounting is standard included optional pipe mounting, no panel mounting available for TB/FC FLXA402 all three. Why is C*3 (CSA conduit) then not part of suffix -AD (CSA certification), since it is mandatory for CSA? There are three types of conduit adapters. Only when option -AD is selected then an additional plate is added to fulfill the CSA regulations Which types of Head Tank are available to reduce the effect of bubbles? Simple one (D1, D2, D3) D2 is most economic one, but can only be used for 2-10 NTU. For high turbidity use D3. D1 is for low turbidity measurements (< 2 NTU) One touch connection for inlet, outlet and drain available for all connections? No, not for 1"NPT What are the solenoid valves used for? What are the standard consumables for turbidity and how often do they require replacement?

Can we use Fieldmate to set parameters of TB820D? It cannot be used, but there is an app under development to monitor and check (Q4FY21) Is there an additional protection cap for power or is there a warning opening this part of the equipment? There is no additional part, in case of opening of the part it needs to be powered off. Is the input card the same as the S5 module? It’s the same as the FLXA402 S5 module, for service can be replaced with standard S5 module Where to use which analyzer?

FC800D / RC800D – FREE CHLORINE DETECTOR What is the measuring range? 0-3 mg/L, 0-5 mg/L and 0-10 mg/L Where is the Free Chlorine analyzer produced? It is produced in the Komine factory in Japan How about water and dust protection of the detector, NEMA4X, IP65 or IP67? All sealing structure have ability of IP65/NEMA4X. However, there are 2 small holes in the flow cell. That is why flow cell and Electrode unit do not have I65/NEMA4X How often needs the reagent be replaced (RC)? Reagent must be prepared at the user site. Consumption amount of reagent is 2~2.4L/day. We have recommended preparing 100L at once as written in IM. 100L reagent can use approximately 40days. Unfortunately, YOKOGAWA cannot provide the reagent by the same reason as WE series. Which CE marking will FC/TB applied only electrical or mechanical as well? MSD (Machinery Safety Directive) does not apply to FC/TB. FC/RC/TB is applied LVD, EMC, RoHS and REACH regarding CE marking. How does the new calibration method differ from the existing one? We use the handy kit and perform calibration to match a grab sample. Will it remain the same? Is it just the zeropoint calibration that has changed? In New products, just add new calibration method (open electrical circuit). All current calibration method is installed. So, the answer is “Yes”. You can input grab sample value into new product as well We have been successful using FC500G and FC400G in sample where conductivity can be higher than 1000 microS/cm. We can do this by adjusting the applied voltage. Will it possible to make adjustments to applied voltage using the new FLXA402T? Yes, you can change applied voltage by FLXA402T. So, FC400 and FC500 are working in 1000 μS/cm application, you can install FC800D as well. Is the FC sensor part an OEM from Horiba? No, its 100% Yokogawa. Horiba has copied our design.

Checking current and stops rotating electrode when cell is empty detected/ Prevents electrode to get damaged when there is no water. Rotating is automatically stopped. Is helpful for batch measurement. How is the electrode becoming worse if no sample is present? What happens to the electrode that deteriorates its performance? Ceramic beads scratch the measurement electrode and the lifetime will be shorter. Also, the motor will have a shorter lifetime. The performance itself will not decrease. What are the measurement ranges?

In the previous model was a belt connected to the motor and it needed adjusting, is that still used? This has been replaced by a coupling. In the new model FC8000D there is no need to adjust the belt to the motor. What is the difference in construction on the electrode for F1 & C1 ? is it just because of Ceramic/ Glass material ? The rotating electrode material changes. F1 = Gold electrode. -C1 = Gold/Platinum alloy. This changes the plateau characterisctic Which wallmounting are available? Wall (standard included), pipe and integral mounting optionally available (FC800D+FLXA402T on one plate) 12

What is the area classification for the sensor portion, is it general purpose or having option for Explosion proof? There is no Explosion proof and NI model for FLXA402T and new TB/FC series available What is the option TB in FC800D? '/TB means Terminal Box, additionally cable, solenoid valve and filter has to be prepared. It is for automatic zero calibration in the system

What are the maintenance parts for the FC800D?

Do the diagnostics give an indication of the health of the rotating electrode? Condition and health are measured. Why air purge is required? Air purging is required for electrode unit and liquid pump by air pump or compressor air (industrial air). It is required to protect electrode from hydrogen gass which will affect the metal parts. Is the reagent tank volume 100 L (RC)? Tank can be used for 40 days. With 10 liter is only 4 days, so it depends on customer preferences. What is the stability of the reagent? (How long can the customer store the prepared reagent?)" The lifetime depends on the environmental conditions. If the temperature is >30°C the reagent lifetime is only 1 month. @ 25°C it is minimum 2 months. Are there any options in FLXA402 specifically for RC ?

What are the maintenance parts for the RC800D ? Note: Oil is in a bottle so needs to be applied every month, but not necessary to buy every month a bottle. It will last 3 years.

What is the minimum detection limit (MDL) when customer ask measuring range is 0-1 ppm for residual chlorine measurement? FC800D: 0.05 mg/l is detection limit FC8000 RC800: 0.03 mg/l Stanchion delivered seperately? No, because it is part of complete CE approval (EMC test).
