Colorado Local Rules The Detailed Listing of all Local Rules are in The Locker Rooms and on the Notice to Competitors for all Events Immovable Obstructions: All roads, cart paths, stone staircases, and stakes supporting trees are immovable obstructions. In addition, when connected to cart paths, all crushed colored gravel pull offs and walking paths, as well as buried wood bollards are deemed to be part of the obstruction. The player is entitled to relief from lie, stance or the area of his intended swing without penalty – Rule 16.1

Immovable Obstructions near the Putting Green: Relief under this Rule is only available when both the ball and the obstruction are in part of the general area that is cut to fairway height or less. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is on the line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green and is within two club-lengths of the ball – Model Local Rule F-5. Aeration Holes:

In the general area, a player may take relief for interference from an aeration hole under Rule 16.1b for a ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole. The player may, without penalty, determine the nearest point of complete relief for a ball in an aeration hole and drop a ball within one club-length of this spot that is both in the general area and is no closer to the hole. Interference does not exist if an aeration hole only interferes with the player’s stance. If the ball comes to rest in another aeration hole the player may take relief again under this local Rule – Model Local Rule E-4

Golf Club Drop Zones: For a ball that comes to rest in the penalty area on holes #11 and #17, an additional relief option will be available in the form of a drop zone. The player may use the most forward tee as a drop zone, under penalty of one (1) stroke. Players will also have an option on hole #11 to use the drop zone (White Circle) at the beginning of the fairway, under a penalty of one (1) stroke. Wire Supported Trees: Such a tree is defined as a no play zone. If a ball lies in the general area and a player has interference from this tree for their stance or area of his intended swing, the player must, without penalty, determine the nearest point of complete relief and drop a ball within one club-length of this spot that is both in the general area and is no closer to the hole. If the ball lies in a bunker, the same procedure applies but the ball must be dropped in the bunker to avoid penalty relief – Model Local Rule E-10.

Sandy Areas Any sandy area NOT containing a rake is in the general area (Holes #3 & #7).

Hoof Prints in General Areas and in Bunkers Damage that is clearly identifiable as having been caused by animal hoofs is ground under repair from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1. But on the putting green, Rule 16.1 does not apply as such damage may be repaired under Rule 13.1 – Model Local Rule F-13.

Colorado Pace of Play Guidelines In order to ensure that members have an enjoyable time during their rounds, we require that all rounds of golf with tee-times prior to 12:00pm complete their rounds in 4 hours & 15 minutes (4:15) or less. Members who feel this would be unattainable for their groups are encouraged to tee off after 12:00pm. After 12:00pm, your round must be completed in under 4 hours & 25 minutes (4:25) or less. Checkpoints for rounds prior to 12:00pm. • • • • • •

Through Hole 4 in 58 minutes Through Hole 8 in 1 hour and 52 minutes Complete Front 9 in 2 hours and 5 minutes Includes a visit to the Turn Through Hole 12 in 2 hours and 46 minutes Through Hole 15 in 3 hours and 30 minutes Complete 18 Holes in 4 hours and 15 minutes Definition of "Out of Position" Your group will be considered out of position if at any time during the round you do not meet the above check points. Any following group will be considered out of position if it (a) has not met one or more of the above checkpoints and (b) reaches the teeing ground of a par-3 hole and the preceding group has cleared the next tee; reaches the teeing ground of a par-4 hole and the putting green is clear; or reaches the teeing ground of a par-5 hole when the preceding group is on the putting green. Both (a) and (b) must apply for a group to be out of position.

Golf Club Professional Staff procedure for addressing groups that are behind pace Inform the group of their position on the course and that they are behind. The group will have one hole to meet the pace of play guidelines. If the group is still behind after one hole, inform the member that they are still behind and at this time will be required to pick up their golf ball and proceed to the hole that puts them back into position. Once a member of the staff has asked a group to skip a hole, or if any group completes 18 holes in more that the prescribed amount of time, the players’ names will be recorded, and will be passed on to the Golf Committee for further discussion. Members will then receive a communication from the Golf Committee regarding their slow play. If a member has more than one instance of an issue with their pace of play, they will be prohibited from playing prior to 12:00pm, and will be restricted with guest privileges until after 1:00pm for 30 days.

Colorado Music Policy Members and their guests are permitted to play music on personal portable speakers and listen to music while using the facilities at Colorado Golf Club under the following parameters:

Practice Facility

Music is permitted at the Practice Facility ONLY WITH THE USE OF HEADPHONES. In order to provide the best practice environment for all members and guests, amplified music is not allowed on the practice tee, short game area or putting green. Music may not be played from a golf cart, cell phone or other device unless headphones are used.

Golf Course

Members may listen to music via personal and portable speakers as long as the volume of the music does not allow it to be heard by other groups on the course. In keeping with the etiquette and courtesy of the game, please consult other members of your group before turning on any music. If you are playing outside of your regular group, you should ask the other players before turning on music.

Tournaments

For ALL CGC Major events the club has adopted Local Rule Section G-8 in the USGA's Rules of Golf, which prohibits a player in a competition from using a device to listen to music or a broadcast. Penalty for breach of the rule is disqualification. However, the Golf Committee will evaluate this on an event-to-event basis and can make a local rule allowing the use of music. This will be communicated by the professional staff in event announcements.

Golf Club Tee it Forward Initiative For Members - Requirements Members who post more than 80% of their last 20 rounds at Colorado Golf Club from a specific tee-box (e.g. Combo or White Tees) will have the option to play those tees for all of the golf events at CGC. All players who are playing a different tee-box from where the event is being conducted will have their handicaps adjusted under the USGA handicap manual. This would mean, if John Smith played the white tees for 16 or more of his last 20 rounds, he would be eligible to play these tees for all events at the club. A member’s handicap for the event would be calculated for the tees they elect to move forward to. Once a member qualifies to “Tee It Forward” they are required to play those tees for the remainder of the events for the season. At the start of the season, in advance of any event taking place, a member may declare to tee-it forward for the season.

For Guests Any guest whose age plus adjusted handicap is equal to or higher than 70, has the option to move up to the Combo or White Tees.

For Championships For all events containing a Championship flight, all participants playing in the Championship flight will need to compete off of the tees defined by the tournament committee. (Excludes the Parent-Child)

Colorado Guidelines Overview Inclement Weather Policy Member safety at CGC is our utmost priority. As thunderstorms and severe weather are frequent in Colorado. Our Severe Weather Policy is as follows: The Club subscribes to a weather service via Skyview Weather. CGC receives a call from Skyview when lightning or severe weather is in the area. Our current range is set to receive a call when severe weather is within 7 miles, giving us sufficient time to clear the golf course. Following the Skyview call, the professional staff will sound air horns with one long blast, signaling a weather delay. These horns will be blown from the 12th tee, the Clubhouse patio and the Practice Facility. All members are encouraged to cease play and evacuate the golf course once the horn is blown. Members do have the option to play at their own risk at any time during a delay. Staff members will be deployed to pick up members, guests, and caddies who are walking the golf course. All caddies and CGC employees MUST evacuate the course during a weather delay. During a delay, all staff and caddies will remain inside until we receive the “all clear” from our weather service. A member of the CGC Professional staff will notify the CGC Pool as soon as we receive the severe weather call from Skyview. Once the course is safe, The Professional Staff will communicate to the membership that play may resume. Members may at their own risk – wait out severe weather at any of the comfort stations. The pool will be closed during severe weather.
