Drive to 100 There are few organizations that are built to last. A centennial milestone is recognition of those who had the foresight to start something worthy of lasting 100 years. What started as an idea by a few golf enthusiasts has become our enduring legacy. In 2023, Niakwa Country Club will celebrate its 100th anniversary. In our Strategic Plan, the Board has established a long-term vision to ensure our club can preserve a legacy for every member of which to be proud. We called our Strategic Plan “Drive to 100” as an expression of our vision and our values. The Board acknowledges that we are the caretakers of an important legacy.

Niakwa exists for the enjoyment for our members, now and in the future. The long-term plan for Niakwaʼs Board is to ʻDrive to 100ʼ which means celebrating the centennial in 2023 – and ensuring the Club exists for another 100 years. The golf course, a living work of art. Designed by Stanley Thompson, Canada's most legendary designer of golf courses and the man behind the genius of places like Jasper Park Lodge, Banff Springs, Highlands Links, and many others, Niakwa demonstrates how a classic course remains relevant and vital in modern times. In many ways, Niakwa remains as it was when Thompson first devised the course-easily walked, always revealing nuances over repeated rounds, and engaging and exciting regardless of how often a golfer tests themselves against the course. The elements of the design have stayed true to Thompson's visionbunkering that is artistic and clever, a routing that's ingenious, and greens that demand your attention. But it also has the great ability to be enjoyable by the golfer new to the sport, and exciting for the player who wants a challenge.

In recent years, Niakwa has been updated under the watchful eye of Doug Carrick, currently Canada's premier golf architect, and a man with a great affection for Thompson's work. Over the past decade the Club has lengthened its practice facility, added a state-of-the-art drainage system that keeps the course open when others in the city sit idle, and reworked the bunkers to reflect Thompson's vision. Like a living work of art, Niakwa has evolved and changed over the decades, but always with the ever-present spirit of its master, Stanley Thompson.

FLEX: This program provides the flexibility for a corporation to have multiple players on one membership (Primary and Representative members). If a corporation doesn’t have need for a second members, they may choose to take 15 guest passes in lieu of a Representative member.
