„ COMPUTER SCIENCE The study of computer science involves the theory, design and application of computer systems with a focus on software. Computer scientists design and analyze algorithms, study the performance of computer hardware and software and design applications that perform on handheld devices so they’re easy to use and uphold security measures. Applications include business and industry, gaming, research and more. In this program, you’ll learn the theoretical foundations of computing and networking, programming languages and how to work with algorithms and other mathematical concepts. Courses are taught by skilled instructors who are computer science experts. Harper’s program will prepare you to transfer to study computer science to ultimately begin a career in software development, database administration, networking architecture or computer modeling. The Associate in Science (A.S.) degree prepares you to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete your bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related major.

„ ENGINEERING Engineers change the world, developing creative, practical solutions by applying the principles of science and mathematics. They work with other talented, inspiring people to invent, design and create things that matter. Jobs in engineering include chemical engineer, civil engineer and electrical engineer among others. Harper can start your engineering career. The mathematics, science and engineering courses prepare you to transfer to continue your studies. Harper offers a wide variety of first- and second-year engineering courses, including engineering graphics, statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics and electrical engineering design. This curriculum aligns with the first two years of a standard engineering baccalaureate degree.
