As the founder President of JCI Nagpur Lotus, I feel privileged to pen a few words for this bulletin which has been brought out by our chapter with the intention of providing a platform for us to mention about our projects and activities and to also provide an opportunity for all our members to put down their thoughts. My sincere and heartfelt thanks to JC Rajesh Saraf sir, Jc Sen Renuka Varma ji and Jc Kavita Agarwal for their able guidance and mentorship. I would like to congratulate and appreciate VP MO Jc Merene Kurian and Editor Jc Nikita for their tremendous efforts.

I truly believe that leading an organisation or a chapter brings along a lot of responsibilities. Joining JCI has helped me inculcate leadership qualities and groom my personality. I would like to conclude with a promise that we will take our chapter to soaring heights with our projects and activities and will help sculpt many presidents and trainers for the prestigious organisation in the future. As VP - MO, I am thrilled to be a part of LO bulletin and would like to grab this opportunity to thank Jc Sen Renuka Varma Ji and our President Ashwini Choulwar Ji and all seniors for their never ending support and guidance. Nagpur Lotus, as a newly formed chapter, has grown leaps and bounds and it has been our endeavour to follow the motto of JCI “Guided by Purpose”. In a short span of time, Jc Merene Kurian we have undertaken several successful projects like Blood Vice President-Management Donation, Health Check-up camps, felicitating the silent

worker etc. I am ever obliged to our President Jc Ashwini ji for initiating me into this organisation. I feel joining JCI has helped me bloom as a confident person. I should specially mention the EPS programme conducted by our National trainer Jc Ravindra Misal Sir which helped me overcome my fear of public speaking. We have a group of exceptional members and all of us together look forward to serve JCI and our country in the best way possible and contribute to making this world a better place.

A profession a Consultant Opthalmogist practising at Nagpur since 6 years now, I was introduced to JCI by our president Jc Ashwini Choulwar for which I am ever so thankful to her. Immediately after joining I was chosen as secretary of Nagpur lotus and I feel very privileged to be given this honour. I am highly obliged to our mentor Jc Sen Renuka Varma ji and all our seniors for giving us the privilege of publishing this bulletin which provides an excellent platform for all of us to put forth our thoughts about JCI and its influence on us and also is a way to promote our business activities.

An organisation like JCI not only teaches you to serve humanity but also teaches many life skills like management, discipline and organisation &deputation of work. As the secretary of the Chapter among my many responsibilities is also planning and implementing various activities carried out by the chapter. I can proudly say that we as newly installed club ,with the dedication of our talented and resourceful members and guidance of all our seniors and under the able leadership of our President will take this chapter and our organisation JCI to sublime heights .

cognitive development and children become independent. When the child is in preschool he or she doesn’t focus on academics, infact they focus on CCA (Co- Curricular activities). Till the age of 5years it’s the golden period of a child they adopt the things very easily. With this I would like to conclude my thought. FITNESS IS THE WAY FORWARD

A healthy mind is key for a healthy body. A person stays

happier when he/she is fit and healthy. Good health and fitness is not something which one can achieve entirely on our own. The healthy mind reacts better in pressure situations. It depends on their physical environment and the quality of food intake.Our day-to-day habits also determine our fitness level. Routine exercise helps improve our muscle power. We should spend at least twenty minutes daily in our exercise. Exercise burns our fat and controls the cholesterol levels in the body. Regular exercise maintains our body shape. And the thing about where fitness starts is food. We should take nutritious food. Food rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates provide the required energy in performing various tasks. It helps in building bones and boosting our immune system. Taking essential nutrients in an adequate amount is called a balanced diet. Good food helps in better sleep, proper brain functioning and healthy body weight.

It is rightly said that if eyes are the window to our soul, mouth is the mirror of our body. The 3 most common oral problems are, dental decay, bleeding gums & bad odour. While most of the times the causes for these conditions are related to the person's oral hygiene practices & dietary habits, one can't ignore the fact that sometimes the reasons for oral ailments could go beyond these too. But that is dying because the handloom industry is being slaughtered by lack of assistance and strategies. Handloom weaving is one of the largest and most dynamic aspects of Indian cultural heritage. Predominantly, the weaker segments of society gain their livelihoods from the handloom industry. This sector not only supports the local artisans but also minimizes energy usage and is environmentally sustainable.
