Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows Christ the King Parish started out in the 1970s as a small chapel at White Plains Village, Quezon City, along with the St, Joseph the Worker Convent. The priests that served the chapel were from the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (OLHP) in Cubao, Quezon City, and, later on, from Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish in Project 4, Quezon City. The community’s desires to become a parish grew, and they would be established
as

Greenmeadows. parish would also become an official part of the Manila Diocese under Jaime The Cardinal Sin on 25 January 1979, serving the communities of White Plains, Greenmeadows, St. Ignatius, and Libis. Fr. Victorio Antonio was installed as the new parish priest, and the growth of the communities it served signified the need to build a new church. In 1980, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) director Mauro Calaguio Sr., Metro Manila Commission Vice-Governor Ismael Mathay Jr., helped

Greenmeadows to construct the new church. The land
was
turned
over,
and
a
construction
committee was formed, architect Angel Abad agreed to design the church free of charge. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 27 April 1980. In 1983, a new parish priest was assigned by Cardinal Msgr. Sin, Jaime T. Mora. Construction of the church continued, and donations were received from friends, the communities, and business associates.
Fundraising
initiatives
were
also
undertaken to fund church construction such as movie premiers and car raffles. Crypts were also built, starting the parish’s funerary services, to fund
