Acknowledgements Publishing a book is never easy, especially having two little ones constantly around making it a little too noisy to concentrate. Here comes my knight to the rescue. I’m so blessed to have an incredible partner, my husband who has been my rock through this new journey of my first book. This book shares poetic tales about the teenagers who have welcomed all kinds of waves rising towards them and how they have hugged each soaring high tide fiercely. Teenage-hood comes buzzing with its dormant strength and the teens are unaware of the discoveries they make along the way to a point of maturity. It’s all about He, She and They. How friends, foes, family members and guidance make a difference, and what impact has been left behind. Some go through tidal waves of health issues, some being traumatized mentally and some impatiently dribble into the sand. It is all about their adolescence being transformed. This book holds Prose and Poetry, based on young boys and girls finding their path into those humming waves of teenage hood. You may have the aggressiveness to read through each poem and feel it leaving you with a balmy taste of positivity. It will leave you with a feeling of a horizon being stitched with a silver line.

Letter to teen, We all require that one person in our life, who believes in us. A fresh young mind needs it the most, especially when he, she or they are at their most vulnerable point. Your inexperienced mind is trying to figure out which path to choose, needing guidance and support. You aren’t lost. Almost finding out a new way amongst the chaos. Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone comforting you through? You may not find it reasonable at first. You may feel like you can do it without assistance, but trust me, dear teen, that one push, that one hand helping you out, will allow you to thrive into someone amazing, a persona of your true essence will brighten up more.

Teen Waves is based on several youngsters’ journey. Each poem has a tale to tell, as it is about He, She and They. How do their quests find a direction and transform? Why and how guidance and advice being acknowledged at the right moment could alter their lives? Do they learn to make choices boldly, yet how it impacts them? These emotions will tether you, leaving you with a feeling of a horizon being stitched with a silver lining. It is about a youth, standing tall and welcoming the waves creeping steadily towards them. “Facing each soaring wave fiercely!”

Sarab Kaur is a mother, a wife and an aspiring poet. Currently, she is based in Mumbai. She has always loved to jot down poems based on the experiences around her. The teenage phase has played a crucial part in her life. Hence Teen Waves is a way to reflect the journey about teenagers and their emotions. These emotions are weaved into beautiful pictures of words.
