Prologue

April 2017 I was driving my car at the speed of 180 km/h. My mind was frozen because of Vishi. I never thought there could be another world like ours, but that day, Vishi forced me to think so. My biggest mistake was falling in love with her, and I didn’t know why I loved her so much. I didn’t want to think about Vishi or anything related to her. I’d never been in love before, but slowly, I started believing in love because of her. She changed me gradually. I didn’t even know when she took my heart. Before her, I thought “love” didn’t exist, but she taught me the meaning of love. She was in my heart; I knew I would love her forever. She was always with me, in my good and bad memories. We all have that one person whom we hate and love. Suddenly, I noticed a scooty coming in my direction. I didn’t know what to do, so I steered my car away to save the scooty. My car crashed into the divider, and for a split second, I was in mid-air. I heard a bang, and I don’t remember what happened after that.

Chapter 1

One Year Ago: April 2016 After I completed my education, I didn’t have to search for a job because my brother was the C.E.O of ‘Ezee-flip’ company. The company was started by my father, but I didn’t know where he was. Whenever I asked my mom about him, she would cry and say, “I don’t know. I mean, he is insecure about us. So, he ran away from us.” I knew there was another reason behind his disappearance; there was definitely something else, and my mom knew that very well, which was why she used to cry for days. After seeing her tears, I promised myself that I would never ask her about my dad again. Whatever, forget it. Where was I? Oh yeah, I didn’t have to look for a job because I could join my father’s business. ‘Ezee-flip’ was a company that manufactured cars, and it was located in a very huge area. Our company made thousands of cars every day, and my brother, Aditya, ran the business. He asked me to help him soon after I finished college. He was ten years older than me. He had been running our dad’s business since the day he left. He was only nineteen then. I didn’t know if my dad was good or bad.

It was my first day of work. Since childhood, I always had the dream of working in my father’s company because I loved cars and all things related to them. The office seemed very nice, both on the inside as well as the outside. I walked to the reception area. “Can you please take me to Aditya’s cabin?” I asked the receptionist. “Sir, do you have an appointment?” she asked. “No,” I replied. “Sorry, sir, but without an appointment, I can’t help you,” she said, and I interrupted her, “Yeah, Christi.” I had seen her name on her name badge. “How you know my name, sir?” she asked. “I know everything about this office.” I paused and said, “And you seem to be very strict with your rules and regulation. And believe me, our company needs staff like you.” “S-sir, may I know your name, please?” she asked, while standing in her place. “Sauraya Khurana.” “What?” She paused and said, “I mean, I’m really sorry I couldn’t recognise you, sir.” “No problem.” “Sir, may I lead the way to the cabin?” “Yeah, of course.” “This way, sir,” she said as we reach the cabin. “Nice cabin, but where he is?” I asked. 020

“Who, sir?” she asked. “I mean, this is Aditya’s cabin right? So where is he?” I asked as I didn’t see him there. “Sir, actually, this is your cabin. Not Aditya sir’s,” she said. “Oh, nice,” I said. “But where is he?” “Sir, these are some formalities you need to complete first,” she said. “Okay,” I said, after she handed me a file. After she left my office, I stared out of the window. After a few minutes, someone knocked at the door. “Come in,” I said, and a girl entered my cabin. She was wearing a miniskirt, and I stared at her blue eyes and long legs. Suddenly, I recollected an incident that had happened in the morning, when I drove to the office in my BMW i8. I had seen her splitting chewing gum into a car. “Sir- sir,” she interrupted my thought process. “Yeah?” I asked. “What happened? Who sent you here?” “Sir, I’m your new assistant,” she said. She looked very hot in her dress, and her figure was like a moon in a deep heart. “Oh.” I paused and asked, “What is your name?” “Sir…” she began to speak, but someone interrupted our conversation. 030

“Bro, how is your new cabin? Is it fine or not?” Aditya asked. “It is okay,” I said. “What do you mean ‘it’s okay?’” He paused and said, “You know how much hard work I put into decorating it?” “What!” I exclaimed, and I rotated my head to look around the cabin. “What did you do? I mean, nothing seems like you worked hard for it.” “What?” She paused and said, “Sir, you are wrong. Aditya sir really did a lot to set up your cabin. This was not even a cabin before, it was a vacant place. And really, your brother worked hard to turn this vacant place into a new cabin, that too in such a short period of time.” I found it hard to concentrate on listening to her words. I felt lost in her voice, and she stopped. “Oh, sorry. Is there something for me to do now?” I asked. “Yeah.” Aditya said, “Vishi, please lead him to the manufacturing site.” “Yes, sir” she said. “I have a meeting with the country representation. So, I need to go, but Vishi will take you.” He left the cabin before I could ask him anything. “So, where do we need to go?” I asked. “Sir, actually…” she paused. “What happened? Tell me,” I asked. 040

“Sir, my Scooty is jammed. I don’t know what happened to it. I mean, it was working properly in the morning. But suddenly, it’s jammed because of which I was so late today,” she said. “Yeah, I see,” I said. “What?” she asked. “Nothing. I mean, I can give you lifts, if you want,” I said. “It so kind of you, sir, but…” she said. “There are no ifs and buts,” I said. “Okay, then let’s go,” she said, and we left the office and headed to the parking lot where my car was parked. When we reached my car, I opened the left door for her. “Wow, it’s a nice and luxurious car.” She paused and said, “BMW i8.” “Yeah,” I said. “But before I start my car, you need to fasten the seat belt.” She tried to fasten the seatbelt, but she failed. She ended up knotting the seatbelt around herself. “What did you do? May I help you?” “Sir, I have never sat in a car before,” she said. “I belong to a poor family. That’s why I don’t even know how to put on the seat belt.” I didn’t know what happened to me after she said that, I held her hand and grabbed the seatbelt from her. I was right in front of her, and I looked at her face. 050

Her eyes were gently closed, and her breath gently fell on my face. I could feel her breath, and it was very warm. After a few minutes, while driving, I broke the silence between us. “But by seeing your dressing style, no one can believe that you belong to a poor family,” I said. “Actually, I’m an orphan, and I don’t…” She paused, and I saw her eyes moisten. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you.” I took out my handkerchief and offered it to her. After a few minutes, she was normal again, and I parked my car near a coffee shop. “Sir, why did you stop here?” she asked. “This is not the place where we have to…” I interrupted her. “I know, but I need a cup of coffee, and if you accompany me, it will be good,” I said, as we stepped out of my car and headed to the coffee shop. “Sir, but if Aditya…” she began, but someone interrupted her. “Hey bro, you are here!” It was Rahul. He was my best friend forever, and I had forgotten that he went to the coffee shop every day with his girlfriend, and sometimes, alone. “I am good, and how are you?” I asked. “I’m fine…” He paused as he noticed Vishi. “Are you Sauraya?” he asked, while looking at Vishi. 060

“What are you talking about? I don’t understand,” I said. “I mean, you never wanted to be in love. No affection or attraction. But now you are dating her!” he said, pointing at Vishi. “What the hell, Rahul?” I said, and Vishi ran away from there, without saying a word. At first, I didn’t understand why Vishi did that. I followed her. “Vishi! Vishi!” I said, but she didn’t react. I reached out and held her hand. I didn’t know what happened to me; when I touched her hand, I felt some kind of a shock from her hand, and because of that, my head started hurting. I couldn’t remember anything that happened after that. “Sauraya! Sauraya!” Vishi said. “Please help me!” After that, I saw my mom, Aditya, Vishi and an unknown person whom I had never met before. They were begging me to help them.

Chapter 2

Suddenly, I woke up with fear in my heart, and when I opened my eyes, I saw that I was in a hospital. Vishi was standing by my bed, holding my hand and crying. “Why are you crying, Vishi?” I asked. “Sir, all this happened because of me,” she said. “What?” I paused and said, “I mean, I don’t understand anything.” “Sir, I’m different, and I think you are also like me,” she said. “Please tell me clearly what the matter is. I don’t understand anything you are saying,” I said. “I mean, a few people have touched my hand before, but I never felt what I felt today,” she said. “What do you mean?” I asked. “Yes, sir. We are not like others. We are different.” She paused and said, “And you know what? I can read minds.” “What? I think you have gone mad,” I said and laughed slowly. “Sir,” she said, “Leave it, sir. You will understand later.”

ayush is still in school. He loves to watch animated movies and read novels. His interest in writing fiction arose from his passion for movies and books. He completed writing his book, Unknown World of Love, in about a month. He is a very imaginative person, and he loves magic. His novel is based on black magic, love, and life.
