Monk to Majesty (Biography of Yogi Adityanath)

By– B. K. Chaturvedi

Publisher’s Note The continuous and untiring efforts of BJP in UP state election brought positive results and the massive win of BJP, and Yogi Adityanath as the Chief Minister points at the deep thought process that guides BJP. It is the power of organization that talks about ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’. This development that is backed by faith is in favour of the development of the country as a whole. We all have to work very hard to empower our nation in every aspect. It is now possible with the efforts of Prime Minister Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that everyone will get benefit from all the development taking place in the country. It doesn’t matter whether we are talking about Kashmir or Kanyakumari or even the seven inaccessible states of the North East, everywhere development, electricity, adequate nutrition, water, roads, safety, cleanliness, ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, progress, development of tourism, evolution of India, India becoming the world leader, all these are not just a distant dream anymore; India is truly changing. The onus is now on 125 crore Indians who have to come together and change the condition and direction of the country. Our country is the united and the best. There is only one caste and that is ‘Indian’; there is only one religion and that is ‘Constitution’. Every Indian can taste the

benefits of progress and prosperity with the help of education. This is our faith. I got an opportunity to meet CM Yogi in his office in Shashtri Bhavan. I requested him for a library in every school, college, in the village and district level. It should be properly maintained. A qualified librarian should be appointed at each of them; there should be proper sitting arrangement for book reading and also a complete list of books should be available. Also, in every school one period should be allotted, each week, for reading books. In this way reading habit will develop so the knowledge. In this way Uttar Pradesh can become the best state in terms of education. H’ble Chief Minister accepted this suggestion of developing the interest in reading and that of importance of books in a very positive manner and has assured that steps would be taken in Uttar Pradesh to ensure the same. His qualities of listening others, the easy mannerism and thoughtfulness impressed me to the core. CM Adityanath Yogi is not just an individual, rather an institution in himself. Our country needs him today, as he is the person who can fulfill PM Modi’s dreams, for the development of the country. The author with sheer hardwork has narrated the simplicity, transparency and commitment of CM Yogi. We expect that the readers would accept and appreciate the content of this book. Every Indian should adopt his value of hard work, energy and determination and get on with the task of building the nation. Then tomorrow is ours. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude that he has stopped the practice of giving holidays in schools and colleges related to great personalities of India. His government takes appreciative measures every time which has given a deep sense of hope and trust in the people today.

Since the time you have taken the reign of Uttar Pradesh in your hands, every Hindu has his head held high again with selfrespect. Even the people from other castes have also developed a respectful attitude towards this govt., all thanks to the justice and prudence of CM. Although it hasn’t been long since he joined his office but his achievements are already high and accomplished. It seems that we are yet to see a glorious time in the future. I am heartly thankful to late B.K. Chaturvedi, Author, and Sh. Ashok K. Sharma, Editor, for their efforts publishing the book and making valuable for the readers. Diamond books was established by my father late Shri Govindram who during the time of partition, lost everything in Pakistan made an attempt to inspire the grief stricken Hindus to bear with the cruelties of the time and have unbroken commitment towards self, by distributing the minor version of Shri Geeta. Our organization has always been committed to work in favour of the country irrespective of any profit or loss. Today, we are trying our best to deliver YogiJi’s way of living, and his working style through this book, for the benefit of country, to every countryman. –Narender Kumar Verma [email protected]

Preface The time when the entire eastern Uttar Pradesh was completely shackled by the jehad, religious conversions, naxalites and maoists violence, corruption and rising crimes, the sacred premises of the world famous Shri Gorakshnath Temple of Gorakhpur of Nath creed was crowning Yogi Adityanath who was the successor of the chief preist Avaidyanath Maharaj. Owing some essence of Lord Shiva Shri Yogi, in his student life, was perturbed by the distortions and constant attacks on the Sanatan Hindu Dharma. Going by what destiny had planned for him he quit all the mundane things at a tender age of 22 and became a monk. He completed his graduation with science and maths and was also associated with various national protests during his student life. Yogi won over the myth that was prevalent with monks and yogis, that instead of sitting in a shrine and worshipping, he took up the journey of far off villages and destinations to ensure the up-liftment and nurturing of the truth that was propounded by those who worshipped in the shrines. Within no time upon the insistence of truth, the army of Shiva worshippers was formed and the disciple of the Lord joined his pious agenda. This task took up the shape of a revolution and the history of the revival of Hinduism was created.

According to the traditions of the sacred temple, Yogi took up the campaign of creating public awareness in the eastern Uttar Pradesh. By means of joint feast program he attacked on the age old customs of untouchablity and discrimination. He respectfully brought thousands of Hindus back to their religion by way of bringing together the varied and diversified Hindu society and using his nationalist prowess. He created awareness of ‘cow protection’ among the masses, thereby safeguarding and promoting the cow breeding. He has also been successful in curbing the anti-social and anti-national activities in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Inspired by the campaign for revival of Hinduism, the youth from the villages, countryside, towns and even regular households have committed themselves completely for the cause. Along with the religious activities, the multi-talented Yogi also takes up social, political and cultural causes so as to serve the country. It was only upon the insistence of the general public of Gorakhpur he fought the Lok Sabha elections in 1998 and at the age of just 26 he was honoured as the youngest MP in the Indian Parliament. It was because of his selfless works like everyday presence in the public, touring all the 1500 village assemblies every year, and for all the developmental works and his devotion for Hinduism that the public of Gorakhpur constituency has always ensured his win as the member of Lok Sabha. Because of his active presence and interest in Parliamentary affairs, the central government has appointed him for important offices as a member of the Standing committees of Food and Processing Industry and Distribution ministry, sugar and edible oil distribution, Village development ministry, Foreign ministry, Communication and Information Technology, Road Transport, Port, Civil Aviation, Tourism and Cultural ministry, and member

of the advisory board Home Ministry, Kashi Hindu University and Aligarh University. His exemplary managerial skills emerging from amiable behavioural skills, determination and hard-work could be the subject of research. It is because of this superhuman managerial skills that he has been appointed as director, vice president, minister and joint secretary of approximately 36 educational and medical institutes. Along with the festivities, there is also a sort of restlessness in the hearts of the people with Yogi becoming the CM. People have become even more inquisitive about him. They are trying to gather more and more information about him through books and Internet. A multi-faceted personality, Yogi has many such qualities of that truly justify him of being the CM, and of which the common pubic is unaware. Yogi is having multifarious talent, and writing skill is one of them. He keeps sending articles on his thoughts and ideas to newspapers. In a very short span of time, his books like ‘Yogik Shatkarm’, ‘Hathyog: Swaroop evam Sadhana’, ‘Rajyog: Swaroop evam Sadhana’, and ‘Hindu Rashtra Nepal’ became very popular. He is also the chief editor of the book ‘Yogvaani’. I was highly impressed with his personality due to many other reasons too. It is his journey of life that I am trying to present in the form of this book. A lot of obstacles faced while writing this book, because of misleading and false propaganda that had already been done by media about Yogi. The main problem was to present before the reader a book that not only fully represents the ideology of Yogi but also gives a complete account of the decisions taken by him, the problems he faces and the developemntal works that he has undertaken. I have taken up this task because I feel that without overall

evaluation of any leader it would be wrong to make an opinion about him. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the publisher of Diamond Books Shri Narender Kumar Verma that the moment he saw the manuscript of this book based on Yogi he promptly agreed to have it for publishing. I am also grateful to Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma, who edited this book and beautified it. I would be eagerly looking forward to the valuable suggestions by the readers. –B.K. Chaturvedi

1. From Monk to Monarch The victory of UP’s chief minister is symbolic of not just the winning of BJP or Modi, rather signifies the winning of India’s Culture, Values and Hinduism. This win reflects the power and unity of saffron. This is the evidence of the fact that India, the land of sages and monks, is all set to strengthen its traditional and cultural heritage, and Sanatan values all over again. Wearing the crown of success, the monk Yogi Adityanath has taken up this journey and has now reached the throne. This is no less than a miracle. Adityanath who is chiefly identified as the Chief Priest of the Gauraksh Peeth, but at the same time he is also known as a hardworking and combative political leader. This is the reason that in 1998 when he was elected MP from Gorakhpur for the first time, he went on to winning this seat for five times in a row. The fact that he was the youngest MP in the country which has added one more feather on his cap and today he has successfully established himself as the Chief Minister of UP. His behavioral skills, determination and hard work show excellent managerial abilities and could be considered for the research work. It is because of these exemplary managerial skills he has been the joint secretary, director, vice president, manager and minister of approximately 36 educational and medical institutions.
