Dedication

Last 12 Months have been tragic for me personally. I lost Two men in my family. I am dedicating this book first to my UNCLE who always treated me like his Son, and I looked up to him as my father. He left us a year ago. I called him DAD and Yes, he called me Rinka. To you Late Sh. Maharaj Krishen Koul. I Love you.

I lost My father-in-law 9 Months ago and it shattered us in my ways. It was unexpected and He was a lovely human being. He would always say… Eat banana after food. It helps in digestion. To you Late Sh. Madhusudhan Pastay

My Dedication do not stop here as there are Heroes who are the reason for us to live and smile First: To all the people who keep this world clean. The last two years have been dreadful, but what we haven’t stopped doing is eating, bathing, brushing, wearing new clothes, unboxing purchases, and everything else. We kept our doors closed; our societies sealed; but not everyone could do that. We have these warriors with brooms in their hands, cleaning our streets, picking up our garbage, and keeping this world clean. Anyone who reads this book – please put a message on at least any one of your social apps, thanking these warriors. Second: To all those men and women who stood on the roads and protected us every single second of every single minute, whether the Police, Army, Navy, or other security forces. Covid destroyed lives, but these men and women stood tall and strong, ready for the call of their duty. Their legs didn’t shake, their determination didn’t tremble. They continued their service. I don’t know how we can ever repay anything that they do for us. I salute and bow my head to them. Third: To Lifesavers. You can also call then GOD. All the men and women who stood between death and life. Ask them, and they will say it’s their duty and that’s it; but ask anyone who has a smile on their face because of that white coat, and they will tell you the definition of God for them.

Preface

Is age a requirement to love someone, or must there be physical interaction between two people who love each other? Is it necessary that two people who love each other should marry, settle down for the rest of their lives, and have kids? The important aspect which I request you to remember throughout the book is that you are not reading a story, you are reading a Life. Love is of many forms, but as a society, we don’t understand the word, and often limit this word to a relationship. I am not someone who has done any research on Love. Neither do I want to do it and tell all of you, as it will then become a research finding which you can anyway read from thousands of websites around the internet. What I am trying to tell is a story which opens the debate on ‘Love’, or rather, makes you wonder if our perception of this word is right or wrong. I also want to request you to read this as a story, but while reading, try to listen to yourself and the thoughts which come from within. Try to talk to someone about the read and get their point of view. Ask people around you what their perspective on ‘Love’ is, and what do they think about it. Is it a relationship between two people, or can it be more? Is it mere convenience, or is it more? Is it based on how comfortable you are with another individual, or is it

more? What is ‘Love’ towards Almighty? Is it the fear of not obliging, or is it ‘love’? What do you mean when you tell someone you love them? During the different stages of our lives, we take different forms and behave differently. When we are growing up, we are completely charged and are curious to know everything. Slowly, when we don’t get answers, some of us try to find ways to get the answers while most of us settle down with those questions unanswered. These questions slowly take the shape of who we become and how we perceive the world. Parents love their children, but when a kid asks a question about a kissing scene on a television, parents feel uncomfortable and tell the child to go and play. Later, as the kid grows up, he tries to find the reasons why two people kiss, and if his parents find him doing that, they get angry. Where is ‘Love’ here? Isn’t this more of a responsibility that parents are fulfilling? In a way, what they are creating is an adult who, tomorrow, will be scared to ask questions, and potentially become a submissive mind. Take another example of a girl child who wants to play and is told that she should not wear shorts when she is going out, but when she asks why, as all the boys down on the field are wearing shorts, she is screamed at, or asked to do what she is being told to do. Where is ‘Love’ here? This is more of protection. I know that you’re thinking, isn’t protection also a form of Love? It absolutely is I am not denying that. But if your protection is leaving questions in your child’s mind which are unanswered, they can later, as I mentioned above, take a shape which is dangerous.

Society doesn't always play against you. It sometimes plays with you. In our life, we see lots of ups and downs. Sometimes we go with the flow, and sometimes we fight. There are people around us to teach us how to fight, and there are people around us who teach us how not to. What we choose to do is up to us; it is a choice we make; so, would it be wrong to say that whatever happens around us is because we want it to be done that way? I sometimes feel that we hide us within ourselves. We bury a lot of memories—maybe because we fear them, and again, we choose not to share those memories with people. With time, these memories become scars, and these scars give us pain. To fight that pain, there is an action which is required, or we will die. To choose that action, again, is our choice. That someone who is hidden within us then wants to come out and fight, but sometimes it chooses not to reveal itself. It wants to remain hidden because it likes that. Let's start the journey to understand if it is possible that we bury more than what we can handle, and if we only choose to reveal it when the pain becomes unbearable.

Family is everything and I am incomplete without mine. In one or the other way, we get motivated and influenced by the people near us. Thank you.

Chapter 1: Savitri Devi

‘I

am done with you forming your ridiculous, baseless opinions every day. In the last 30 minutes of you taking us through this big project and the outcomes, I haven’t heard a single instance when you told me what the profit would be. All I am interested in is the profit. So, if you can get me interested, then you are welcome to stay, or else we do not lock our doors,’ said a fuming Savitri Devi. Everyone in the room stood still, but this was not a shock for them. Most of them knew Savitri Devi for the last 20 years, and she hadn’t changed. With each day passing by, she had become stronger and richer. Over the years, she had created a name for herself in the Real Estate industry, where people had even started to call her the Lady Tycoon. The buck really stopped at her when it came to anything to do with Real Estate decisions around the corporate world. She didn’t achieve this by luck. She had to fight every single day through the male-dominant industry to 1
