Preface The Cyber Olympiad Resource Book has been carefully designed primarily to guide and strengthen students ability to problem solving, technology skills, to prepare for the current pattern used in most of cyber olympiad examinations conducted in India and abroad. This book is a quick reference for essential concepts that student needs to learn, prerequisite knowledge, main concepts for each topic and strategies needed to acquire the knowledge and logical thinking skills. A variety of practice questions for each topic will reinforce the learning of key mathematical concepts. Reasoning questions challenge the student to adopt a creative approach to problem solving. The role of computers in school education is widely accepted as a set of tools in the entire learning process, keeping the fast changes in technolgy.The Cyber Olympiad Resource Book adopted the content of these books to lend them proper foundation for a longer life of their technology skills. The syllabus of the book has been prepared on curriculum-based content for CBSE / ICSE and other state boards. It is hoped that this series will provide a foundation upon which students are able to think critically and creatively, thereby achieve better grades in schools and compete in the competetion to success.

Unified Council is conducting the popular Unified Cyber Olympiad (UCO), which will be held across the country with the following goals : n

Eligibility: Any student studying in classes 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 & 10. UCO will be conducted in two levels. The first level exam will be conducted in the respective school premises. 500 students from every class will be selected for the second level exam, which will be conducted in the nearest state head quarters/main towns. N AT I O N A L L E V E L S C I E N C E T A L E N T S E A R C H E X A M I N AT I O N Aim of this examination The focus on fundamentals at the primary & secondary level is so important that without a firm understanding of them, a child cannot be expected to face the reality of the competitive world once he/she finishes the formal education. Even while opting for higher studies the student has to go through a complete scan of what he/she knows. Exams like IIT-JEE, AIEEE, AIIMS, AFMC, CAT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, etc. are so designed to test the fundamental strength of a student. Hence the need of the hour is building the fundamental base as strong as possible. Eligibility : Students of classes 1, 2, 3, 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11&12 are eligible to participate in this examination. Medium & Syllabus: This exam is conducted in only English medium and is suitable for all the students following CBSE/ICSE/State Board Syllabi. Examination Pattern There will be a separate question paper for each class. All questions are objective-type multiple choice with no negative marking for wrong answers. Duration: 90 minutes Date : Conducted every year on the last Sunday of January. Test Centres : Spread across the country. Unique Service from Unified Council: Unique analysis reports like Student’s Performance Report( Skill wise & Questuion wise) for students, General School Report & Individual School Report for schools will be provided. These reports will be very much helpful for students & schools to analyse their strengths and weaknesses.
