1 ODD ONE OUT ‘Odd One Out' means arrangement of given items on the basis of some common character. In this test, a group of certain items are given, out of which some are similar in some manner and one is different from the rest. We are required to choose this one item which does not fit into the given group. T YPES OF CLASSIFICATION QUESTIONS. 1. ODD ONE OUT-WORDS. In this type of questions, four (or five) words are given out of which one is dissimilar to the others and students have to find that odd one from the given set. Example. 2. ODD ONE OUT-WORD GROUP OR PAIR OF WORDS Classification of group of words, letters or numbers is not much different from single words, letters or numbers. Here, we have to observe the type of relation between two related words and find out the pair which does not follow the relationship pattern of the other groups. The related words can be opposite or identical in meaning or nature, or can vary in their degrees of representation or can be rhyming words. Example. Choose the odd pair of words. 4 . ODD ONE OUT-NUMERAL PAIR/GROUP In this type of classification, different numbers are given as options. These numbers have some commonness; except one which is the odd one. One has to identify the similarity and then find the odd one out as answer option. The number can be odd/even/ consecutive prime numbers, multiple of some number, single square or cubes of different numbers, plus/minus of some other number or combinations of any mathematical calculation.
