Preface Our brain is very complex. It can surmise good or evil. It has lot of sensitivity. An antelope grazing in a forest hears a sound in the grass. Immediately all the neuronal clusters concerned with Denger are activated so that the lion is recognized as soon as it emerges from the grass and the antelope is able to escape. Antelope has 180° vision where we human has only 90° vision. Such sensitization is a key part of how the brain works and why it is so efficient and perplex. Anirban Mukherjee a 32 year banker has a perplex brain. He can surmise if something goes wrong. His ability to cope with difficult situation has made him different. Once his personal life is in turmoil. From there he fought the battle with evil and eventually win. He was attacked by a group of hangdogs and the window of his car was broken. He reported this event to police and the main leader of the group had been arrested by the police. This leader used to run terrorist camps in Jammu and Kashmir. These people was trying to use suicide bombers on the auspicious occasion of Republic day. But police came to know that there is another suspect who is the main operational head of this constant in the meantime Anirban was followed by a red Alto regularly. Anirban has lot of customers. One of the customer is Manoj Chaturbedi. Finally Anirban found that red Alto which followed him. But he couldn’t take photographs. This was his big mistake. He tried to know the whereabouts of the owner of the red Alto. Eventually he came to know that the owner is Biswajit Ganguly who is a drug lord. Anirban collected some footage of huge drugs being carried away from Biswajit Ganguly’s home. He show

the footage to police and persuaded police that an attack is still possible in Red Cross road kolkata on Republic day. Police caught Biswajit Ganguly on drug trafficking charge. On interrogation Biswajit Ganguly confessed that the main suspect is Manoj Chaturbedi who is the main operational head. Police caught Manoj Chaturbedi from kolkata and 4 suicide bombers are also arrested. The attack couldn’t happen in kolkata.

urning off light doesn’t mean that I straight go to sleep. Sometimes it takes time as Ice needs some time to melt into 4water. Sometimes noises around you may cause disturbance. It was that kind of a day when your mind is little distracted. Lying in bed I was pondering over so many things which happened to me during the day. Suddenly Some kind of shrill and crackling noise came to my ear. This kind of noise is very familiar with me. Someone is trying to crepitate and enter my home by cutting the grill with a hash crow.. A thought of anxiety suddenly appeared. I got up and ran towards door. To my utter Wonder I saw some people already broke the grill and two of them were approaching me. One man had a sharp knife in his hand and the other man had a gun. I was shivering In fear. I was frightened and this frightening flown into my veins and arteries. The man with knife ran towards me and tried to stab me with his sharp steely knife. At first I couldn’t believe that it was blood coming out of my belly where they stabbed me. It was an extreme agony and an outcry and I fell down on the floor. Suddenly I heard mom was saying get up get up Ani it’s already 10 clock in the morning. I woke up and saw mom made a tea for me. My dream was over. It was a relief. It’s Sunday morning. Now I can feel some good tea. Today is a rest day. I don’t need to go to workplace. It’s a day when a simple man can roam around the city . Today I am a free bird. I can fly anywhere in the sky. Even Sky seems limit for me. My phone rang and the voice appeared is none other than Rai ,a bashful but yet fastidious girl who was happened to be my girlfriend a year before. But now we are good friends. Now she occasionally calls me. She said –“Ani good morning Where are u right now? ”. I said “I am near town club stadium. She said –“Could u please bring me revenue stamps from post office? Today I am stuck with some other work. And I will not be able to get those revenue stamps. But I need those stamps today 1

badly. So could you please bring 50 stamps for me.? Later I will pay u the money. I said yes it’s not a big deal. I will buy stamps and then will call u up. She said –“OK thanks. Rai is now dating another guy who is quite a handsome than me and they are supposed to marry this year. Sometimes I feel that it’s better that Rai left me. I am such a nincompoop guy that if I would have married Rai she would have not been happy as during my relationship with her we used to fight on silly things and I used to loose my temper frequently. Things didn’t go according to my wish in our relationship. In last few day I had become an eyesore for Rai and she became a maenad woman who always scolded me. During this crisis period I finally gave up and told her –“Rai this is enough it has become too much. It’s better that we break up” Rai was also in affirmative. So we parted away. But after this period I thought it’s better that now I should look into my career my job my education. I always wanted to work in a bank which suits my personality. Now I , Anirban Mukherjee , am a branch manager in Axis bank. The operation of my branch is totally dependent on me. I have to look after the sales as well. My duty is to acquire h n I customers. Who visit the bank and sometime I need to go to outside of the bank for meeting with my clients. One of my clients is Sankarlal Sharna who is a big corporate fish who have lots of money and stature. He used to have a lorgnette on his eye and I found him a codger. Sometimes before signing an agreement of the bank he used to cogitate which puts me in doubt that is he gonna sign? Though at last he did. From that period my relationship with Sankarlal Sharna has improved day by day. Now I have got his trust and he used to issue cheque by only signing in the cheque and he tells me the amount and I used to put that amount in the cheque. It’s very tough to get one’s faith and 2

then throw away that trust by committing any misconduct which Rai did with me. In puja days Rai used to wear sari. Her looks in sari was so mesmerizing that I wonder why Rai is so pretty. In sari she looks like goddess. She looks so comfortable in sari. It’s really amazing that she used to carry every dress what she wore. She has a very good taste of clothes what she is gonna wear. Now when I see those pictures of Rai I become morose and gloomy. Rai was looking so pretty that once in Astami I tried to osculate her but she restricted and said “ Ani not in public “ But I couldn’t control my lust and I ended up with a kiss in her forehead. But that period is over now though I still remember those beautiful passionate moments I had with Rai and I still cherish. Time has gone by. Now I have become Area manager in Axis Bank.. My responsibilities have increased with pay hike. I have to look after the sales and services of all the branches in Siliguri Jalpaiguri area. I have also recruited few people in my branch. One of them is Raghu Dixit. Raghu is a vacillating and restless guy but very efficient in his job. Most of the idle time I have seen Raghu playing his games in the mobile. Though I am never comfortable with playing games. Games are odious things for me. Raghu is a straight forward guy. He is not shy in expressing his thoughts. Though he is poor in blandishment of Regional manager or even me. But as long as he is result oriented I don’t have any doubt on his existence. He is also very aggressive sales person which we badly need in sales. One-day I was handling some cash in my branch suddenly I heard a female voice ‘Hi Ani what are u doing here? “ I turned back and saw Sushmita, my college friend. We were at the same department in college.Sush has become little fatty. I thought she must be married by now and when I saw a pinch of vermilion I became sure. When did u marry sush? She said a year before. So where is your husband? She said right now my husband is not with me but if u come to my home I would introduce him to you. I said 3

OK. I said “ why u turned up in Axis bank.? “ She said u must be working in this branch. I said yes it’s more than 4 years that I am associated with Axis bank. She said “ Could your please do me a favor? I want to deposit cash in my account. “ I said yeah sure. You just fill up this depositors slip and go to the teller and he would deposit your money. She said OK thanks. “ Are u married? What about Rai ? Is she still dating u? “No we broke up 2 years before. She is now patched up with another guy and they are supposed to marry. She said “ so sad to hear this. You people are badly in love in college days. Anyway find any other girl whom you could marry. Life doesn’t stands on it moves”. Those consolatory words from Sush was directly hurting me. Once upon a time I was falling in love But now I'm only falling apart There's nothing I can do A total eclipse of the heart Once upon a time there was light in my life But now there's only love in the dark Nothing I can say A total eclipse of the heart Because I know I will never get such beautiful yet traditional girl like Rai in my rest of life. Rai was so beautiful that you can spend the whole day looking at her. I tried to come closer to Rai various times. My concupiscence was desirable as I said Rai is pretty and in sari I have never found any other girl as pretty as Rai. I used to embrace her in my lap. I used to not control my voracity. My lechery put me in great avarice and she used to take my head in her breast. We started kissing each other . My venery couldn’t conform any boundaries. I became irresistible in love. My covetousness was letting me dominated over her. The rapacity I possess made me come closer to her. One quality I must admit about Rai that she is a exceptionally talented singer. She is at absolute ease when it comes to singing. I heard from her that she used to get taught 4

by some guruji of classical music. Her voice modulation tells me that she has a lot of control over her singing. I once questioned Rai whom do you follow as a singer when it comes to play back singing. She said Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi chauhan are the best possible singers at that moment in India. She also told me she likes rock n roll, blues, jazz, country. In creative singing she is mad about Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks of Fleet wood Mac, Roxette vocalist Marie Fredriksso. She is personally a big fan of Janis Joplin. I knew so many things about Janis Joplin from her. Janis’s full name was Janis Lyn Joplin. She was an American singer-songwriter who sang rock, soul and blues music. One of the most successful and widely known rock stars of her era, she was known for her powerful mezzo-soprano vocals and "electric" stage presence1967, Joplin rose to fame following an appearance at Monterey Pop Festival, where she was the lead singer of the then little-known San Francisco psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company. After releasing two albums with the band, she left Big Brother to continue as a solo artist with her own backing groups, first the Kozmic Blues Band and then the Full Tilt Boogie Band. She appeared at the Woodstock festival and the Festival Express train tour. Five singles by Joplin reached the Billboard Hot 100, including a cover of the Kris Kristofferson song "Me and Bobby McGee", which reached number 1 in March 1971. Her most popular songs include her cover versions of "Piece of My Heart", "Cry Baby", "Down on Me", "Ball and Chain", and "Summertime"; and her original song "Mercedes Benz", her final recording. Janis Joplin recorded four albums in her four-year career. The first two albums were recorded with and credited to Big Brother and the Holding Company; the later two were recorded with different backing bands and released as solo albums. Previously unreleased studio and live material, including early performances as well as Joplin's greatest hits, have been released on several posthumous compilations.  Big Brother and the Holding Company(1967)  Cheap Thrills (1968)  I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!(1969)  Pearl (1971) Some of Joplin's live concerts with Big Brother were professionally recorded and have been released on albums like Live at Winterland '68 and Live at the Carousel Ballroom 1968. Rai also likes Whitney Houston, Maria Carey, Tina turner ,Madonna, Beyonce.She has a great fondness of cranberries as she liked Zombie song too much. For her this qualities I used to die for Rai.But her obduracy regarding few things was not at all acceptable. In some occasions she used to objurgate me in public which I never couldn’t tolerate. She sometimes used loathsome comments to me also and when she gets angry no one can conciliate her. Her wrath on me crossed every boundary. Her polemic nature makes her a disputing girl. Though we had some happy moments also. When her mood is good she is like a girl next door. I used to go to Rai’s home often. Uncle and aunty always welcomed me. Aunty is darling. Aunty always told me about Rai that Rai lacks patience. Aunty used to make tea for both Rai and me. In Rai’s room she has a music player. We used to listen all kind of music during those time. We heard Beatles, Guns n Roses, Eagles, Scorpion, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, doors etc. She liked the “blackbird “ song of Beatles very much and we both used to sing together – 6

Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take this broken wings and learn to fly All your life your were only waiting for this moment to arise Blackbird fly, blackbird fly, into the light of a dark black night On the other hand I liked “I’m so tired” of Beatles and again we together sing – I’m so tired, I haven’t slept a wink I’m so tired my mind is on the blink I wonder should I get up and fix myself a drink no no no I’m so tired I don’t know what to do I ‘m so tired my mind is set on you I wonder should I call u but I know what you would do I ‘m so tired I am feeling so upset Although I am so tired I will have another cigarette. This song reminds of Rai every time I hear the song. My mind is set on her and still it is set on her.Sometimes I think my mind is something where Rai can check out any time but she can never leave. But here in office Raghu has committed a hara-kiri. Raghu’s girl friend Lara visited branch in search of Raghu. Lara is a very friendly jovial well-mannered girl who is like a sister to me. Lara came in branch and asked me “Where is Raghu Anida ? Where is that scoundrel ?This boy has made my life miserable. My life has become hell” I said –“ Raghu is not in branch right now. He probably went to meet some client. But what happened exactly between you and Raghu? Why your are so upset? “ She said –“Anida Raghu had borrowed 50000 rupees from me three months back. He is supposed to return it yesterday. But now he is not picking my call. He is sending me smses that he is busy in a meeting. Write now he can’t speak. Anida had it been my money I wouldn’t have mind it. But I have borrowed this money from Papa and Papa is now asking me when Raghu is gonna return 7
