TRY! TRY! AND YOU’LL DO IT!

he children were playing in the hall, while Granny was stitching.

"Rhea," said Granny. "Please help me thread this needle." Rhea took the needle and thread from Granny. She tried hard to thread it, but she couldn’t. "I can’t do it Granny," she said. "You do it."

Ajay and Rohan were trying to build a house of cards. The cards kept toppling over. "Uff!" cried out Ajay. "This is too hard. I give up." Granny smiled. "Children, gather around," she said. "I’m going to tell you a story about the animals of Woodworld Jungle, and how they never gave up."

Adi, Gorgy, Humpy, AJ and DJ were having a marvellous time skateboarding around. They were all expert skateboarders – all except DJ. DJ loved to skateboard as much as the others, but he wasn’t quite as good as them. He kept over.

"Ouch!" cried DJ, when he landed with a bump after trying a big leap. "Don’t worry DJ," said Adi. He helped DJ up. "Come on, we’ll help you." And off they went. This time DJ managed to skateboard nicely.

Wheeeee! They balanced their skateboards on logs of wood.

m ! They skated up a slope.

And then ZZZZZIP they skated down the slope.

They

twirled .

They whirled . They leapt.

They turned somersa u l ts.

They zipped up a steep hill on their skateboards. DJ was now quite as good as the rest of them. And then, they just took off. They went higher and higher up in the air. "Wheeeeeeeee," yelled AJ. "We are flying."

"Yippeeeeee," shouted DJ. "We are free birds. We can soar." And it really felt as if they were flying. They zipped through air. They held out their arms feeling the wind. They were on top of the world. Then suddenly…. they began

to fall.

Down down down they went. THUD. They landed on the ground. "Ouch!" "Uff!" "Ow ow ow!"

They stood up dusting themselves. They looked around. Where had they landed? It was dingy and dark. But there was sunlight coming from high above. They looked up. "It looks like we have landed in a very deep well," said Humpy, looking very worried.

"How shall we get out of here?" said AJ scratching his head. "We are in deep trouble." "We will have to figure a way to get out," said Gorgy. "Or else we will be stuck here for days and days."

"Come on then," said DJ. "Let’s start climbing." Adi walked up to the wall of the well and began to climb. AJ joined him. They tried to hold on to the jutting stones and rocks, using them to heave themselves up. But oh, oh! The stones were slippery. AJ held on to Adi’s leg and oops! They both slipped and landed down with a C H!

"Let me try," said DJ. And he began to climb. Up he went, clutching on to the jutting rocks. Suddenly to his surprise, there was someone next to him. DJ looked around. Guess who it was? It was Makdu, the spider. At one time, DJ and his pals were scared of Makdu. But Makdu just LOVED DJ’s voice and became a huge fan of DJ.

"Makdu," exclaimed DJ. "What are you doing here?" "Oh, Sir," said Makdu breathlessly. "It’s YOU? Wait, wait. I will help you climb." And Makdu went to p ush DJ up with all his might.
