ADVICE-CUM-PREPARATION STRATEGY FOR
IBPS RRBs CWE PRELIMINARY EXAM
ADVICE-CUM-PREPARATION STRATEGY FOR IBPS RRBS OFFICE ASSISTANT CWE-XI PRELIMINARY EXAM Thousands of aspirants get a glittering opportunity for a bright career as the Banking Sector is poised for a high trajectory growth. A Common Written Examination (CWE) will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) as a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for Clerical Cadre posts in the 43 Grameen Banks. The Banking sector in India is poised for a high trajectory growth with prospects for a bright career to thousands of new entrants. Here is a unique opportunity for aspirants for a career in 43 Grameen Banks through Examination. A Common Written Examination (CWE) will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) as a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for Clerical Cadre posts in the 43 Grameen Banks mentioned below. This system of Common Examination for recruitment in Clerical Cadre posts has been approved by each of the 43 participating Grameen Banks and the Managing Committee of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) with the consent of the Government of India. IBPS, an autonomous body registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 and a Public Trust under Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, has been authorised by IBA and has received a mandate from the 19 Public Sector Banks listed below to conduct the Common Written Examination. An individual who aspires to join any of the Public Sector Banks as a Clerk or in a post in that cadre will necessarily be required to take the CWE. Prospective candidates who wish to appear for the CWE will have to apply to IBPS and should carefully read the advertisement regarding eligibility criteria, online registration process, pattern of examination, issuance of call letters and score cards. Candidates who appear for the CWE will be able to check their status after the examination. Scorecards will be issued to candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks and above in each test of the examination. It should, however, be noted that successful candidates in the CWE who have been issued scorecards and who meet the stipulated eligibility criteria are then required to apply to any of the participating banks they wish to as and when individual banks call for applications, quoting their personal details and their CWE scores. Each bank will then individually shortlist candidates and carry out their own selection processes such as Interviews etc. for final selection.
Each participating Public Sector Bank will independently issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying their vacancies and stipulating the eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, proficiency in Offical Language of the State/UT for which vacancies he/she wishes to apply, experience (if any), minimum required level of IBPS score in each component test plus Total Score (if any) etc. Since clerical cadre recruitment would be on State-wise basis, candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/ UT only. It will therefore be necessary that candidates appear for examination in one of the centres of a particular State/UT where they would like to apply for emaployment i.e. they have to appear for the examination from a centre for that particular State/ UT. The candidate may also be required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancies he wishes to apply to be eligible as per the notifications of the Participating Banks.
A BRIEF DISCUSSION ON THE SUBJECTS OF EXAM Although the advertisement published by IBPS bears no formal description of subject wise syllabus but we can formulate a model syllabus on the basis of the memory based questions of previous Clerk Exams of IBPS. In this process the Think Tank of Kiran Institute of Career Excellence, Pratiyogita Kiran, Renu General Knowledge & World Vision & Kiran Prakashan, held wide discussions qualitatively and analytically. The abstract of discussion is given below as a pragmatic but to the point syllabus —
■ NUMERICAL ABILITY In the Test of Numerical Ability, 40 questions would be asked. Every question will have 5 multiple answer choices. Though the syllabus is not well-defined in these competitive examinations, yet the questions asked in various previous Bank Clerk Exams themselves define the nature, standard etc. of the test. A minute observation of questions reveals that about 50% of them are based on Simplification, while other 50% of questions are based on chapters of HCF & LCM, Average,

ADVICE-CUM-PREPARATION STRATEGY FOR
IBPS RRBs CWE PRELIMINARY EXAM
Percentage, Profit & Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Alligation or Mixture, Partnership, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Area of Plane Figures, Volume, Number Series, Probability and Quadratic Equations & Inequations. Generally, the questions are concept based. They need little effort to be solved. Some topics appear new to students with non-mathematical background. For example, topics like, Probability is certainly out of the scope of Arithmetic. This is the gift of hard competition and demand of time. Some topics are nothing but an enlargement of scope of Arithmetic and use of Arithmetical tools like Percentage, Average, Ratio etc. However our study material deals with each topic in detail that will certainly improve the level of understanding. Every discussion has a conclusion. This discussion clearly vindicates the delicate topics of exam and the alacrity to be followed during preparation. This section of the book supplements the dire needs of an avid fighter that fights to win. As you are required to score high and high to strengthen the scorecard, there is always need to pay heed to every topic in totality. Any lackadaisical approach may imperil your tomorrow. A sincere effort demands rigorous practice. This book serves twin objectives of comprehensive knowledge and enormous practice.
