Que son los Códigos QR? Un código QR (Quick Response Barcode) es un sistema para almacenar información en una matriz de puntos o un código de barras bidimensional creado por la compańía japonesa DensoWave en 1994; se caracterizan por los tres cuadrados que se encuentran en las esquinas y que permiten detectar la posición del código al lector. La sigla “QR” se derivó de la frase inglesa “Quick Response” pues el creador aspiraba a que el código permitiera que su contenido se leyera a alta velocidad. Los códigos QR son muy comunes en Japón y de hecho son el código bidimensional más popular en ese país. Cómo puedo leer los Códigos QR Existen varios terminales móviles que permiten la lectura de los codigos QR Actualmente la mayoria de los moviles ya vienen con esta caracteristica, no obstante con disponer de una camara y una aplicación para leer los Códigos QR, basta. Diferéncias entre Código QR y Código BIDI Muchos somos los que confundimos los codigos QR a los codigos BIDI, pero a diferencia de los Codigos QR los códigos BIDI no son gratuitos, frente a los codigos QR que si lo son. NOTICIAS DE INMIGRACION UPDATE: CASA BLANCA El 18 de agosto de 2011, el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional (Department of Homeland Security o DHS) hizo un anuncio sobre un cambio en la política de inmigración. Este anuncio sólo afecta directamente a las personas que se encuentran en proceso de deportación en la corte de inmigración. ESTO NO ES UN PROGRAMA DE AMNISTÍA. DHS señaló que se proponía la creación de un comité con el Departamento de Justicia para revisar todos los casos que actualmente están en proceso de deportación para determinar cuáles son de “baja prioridad” y por lo tanto cuales se pueden cerrar. IMMIGRATION NEWS UPDATE: WHITE HOUSE AUGUST 18, 2011 ANNOUNCEMENT

On August 18, 2011, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) made an announcement regarding a change in immigration policy. This announcement directly affects only those individuals CURRENTLY in removal proceedings in immigration court. This is NOT an Amnesty Program. DHS stated that it planned to create a joint committee with the Department of Justice to review all of the cases currently in removal proceedings to determine which are “low priority” and can therefore be closed. The agency plans to implement guidelines to focus its priorities on removing (deporting) only the “the most dangerous” individuals. However, DHS does not plan to automatically cancel removal hearings in every case. Instead, people who are not considered “high priority targets for removal” will have the opportunity to request prosecutorial discretion in their case. In other words, DHS will review each case individually on a case-by-case basis to determine whether it will then agree to close removal proceedings for those individuals with significant positive factors. This does not mean that the individual will have a lawful status. The person with an administratively closed case is not granted lawful status. It also means that it is POSSIBLE that in the future, perhaps with a different administration, these removal proceedings can be reopened and the person will find him or herself in removal proceedings again. This information is shared as a public service by the law offices of Angela Levesque and Angela Richards, immigration attorneys with Levesque Law, PLLC, for the sole purpose of informing and educating.

Some of the positive factors that could help convince DHS counsel to close a case include the following: 1.Whether the individual does not have a criminal history; 2.The length of time the person has been in the US; 3.Whether the person has strong community ties through family in the US or involvement in the community; 4. Whether the individual has relatives who are in the armed services; 5. Whether the person is a caregiver; 6. Whether the individual or his immediate family has serious health issues; 7. Whether the individual was the victims of crime; 8. Whether the individual has an alternative form of immigration relief. Please be aware that the announcement is only a preliminary step, nothing concrete has been implemented. There is no application to fill out and no fees to pay. This announcement does not grant work authorization to anyone. If you are NOT in removal proceedings this announcement does not affect you and should NOT turn yourself into immigration authorities. If you are currently in immigration court, you should immediately seek the advice of a licensed immigration attorney to determine whether DHS counsel can administratively close your case. Do not seek the advice of a notario or immigration consultant.

DÍA DE ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS El día de Acción de Gracias es una tradición norteamericana celebrada el cuarto jueves de noviembre y que muchos hispanos hemos asumido como propia en este país porque nos da la oportunidad, entre otras cosas, de hacer un alto para darle el justo valor a lo sencillo de la vida, a lo que nos permite seguir adelante, aún en tiempos de dificultades, pero es importante tener en cuenta el verdadero significado de este mes queremos usar el Agradecimiento como Instrumento para nuestros ninos ¿Qué es el agradecimiento? El Día de Acción de Gracias es una ocasión en la que reflexionamos sobre aquello por lo que estamos agradecidos. Más que decir “gracias” cuando alguien nos da algo, ¿qué significa la gratitud? La gratitud puede incluir estar agradecido por las personas y cosas de nuestro pasado y presente. ¿Cómo nos ayuda? Enfocarnos en aquello por lo que sentimos agradecimiento es un instrumento que puede tener un impacto profundo en nosotros mismos y en nuestras relaciones. Investigaciones señalan que el incorporar la gratitud en nuestras vidas puede fomentar nuestra salud física y mental, resultando en menos achaques y depresión, y más felicidad. Expresar agradecimiento en nuestras relaciones ayuda a que los demás se sientan reconocidos por sus esfuerzos y les motiva a continuar comportándose de la misma manera. Al fortalecer nuestras relaciones, la gratitud promueve nuestro éxito personal y ocupacional.

¿Cómo ayuda a los niños? El mostrarle a nuestros niños cómo ser agradecidos les enseña un valor importante. La gratitud es un instrumento que les provee entendimiento y apreciación de sus alrededores (hogar, familia, educación). Les enseña a atesorar los regalos físicos y emocionales que reciben. Les ayuda a desarrollar relaciones sanas con otros niños y adultos. Los beneficios del aprender a demostrar gratitud se extienden hasta la adultez. ¿Cómo incorporar el agradecimiento en nuestras familias? Podemos incorporar la gratitud de muchas maneras. ¡Es útil y divertido reunirse en familia para acordar cómo hacerlo! Mientras tanto, he aquí unas sugerencias: • Tener un diario de gratitud donde usted y los otros miembros de su familia escriben listas de lo que agradecen. • Antes de cenar o dormir, pedir a cada integrante de la familia que mencione algo por lo que está agradecido. • Escribir cartas de agradecimiento a quienes han tenido influencias positivas en la familia. Agradecimientos mutuos después de hacer estos ejercicios promueve respeto mutuo entre los miembros de la familia. Más allá del Día de Acción de Gracias, recordemos que “la satisfacción de encontrar un sólo agradecido compensa las amarguras de muchas ingratitudes.”- Modesto Lafuente.

How to incorporate gratitude in our families? We can incorporate gratitude in many ways. It is fun and useful, together as a family, to agree on how to do it! Meanwhile, here are some suggestions: Keep a gratitude journal where you and other family members write lists of what they appreciate. Before you eat or sleep, ask each family member to mention something that they appreciate. Write letters of thanks to those who have had positive influences in the family.

The day of Thanksgiving is an American tradition held the fourth Thursday in November and that many Hispanics have taken as their own in this country because it gives us the opportunity, among other things, to pause and appreciate the simplicity of life, that which allows us to keep going forward, even in times of difficulties, but it is important to realize the true meaning of this month we want to use as an opportunity for our children to learn the value of gratitude.   What is gratitude? Thanksgiving Day is a time when we reflect on that which we are grateful for. Rather than saying “thank you” when someone gives us something,what does the gratitude really mean? Gratitude can include being thankful for the people and things from our past and present. How can we help? Focus on the fact that gratitude is a tool that which can have a profound impact on ourselves and our relationships. Research shows that incorporating gratitude in our lives can enhance our physical and mental health, resulting in fewer aches and depressions, and more happiness. Expressing gratitude in our relationships helps people feel recognized for their efforts and encourages them to continue behaving the same way. By strengthening our relationships, gratitude promotes our personal and occupational success. How do your help children? Showing our children how to be grateful teaches an important value. Gratitude is a tool that provides them with understanding and appreciation of their surroundings (home, family, education). They are taught to cherish the physical and emotional gifts they receive. It helps them develop healthy relationships with other children and adults. The benefits of learning to show gratitude extend on into adulthood.

Mutual gratitude after these exercises promotes mutual respect among family members. Beyond Thanksgiving Day, remember that “the satisfaction of finding to be grateful for compensates for the bitterness of many ingratitudes.” - Modesto Lafuente

mariela mendoza Soy de Michocan Mexico, y tengo 10 años viviendo en Caldwell, Idaho. Estudié Asistente Dental y en el futuro quiero estudiar odontología. Me encanta bailar y sobre todo pasar tiempo con mis amigos y mi familia. Fuí voluntaria en Sacajawea Elementary School, leyendo libros a los niños y ayudando a servir sus alimentos. También he participado en el zoológico de Boise en lo que se llama Boo At Da ZOO, fué una experiencia muy divertida, con los niños, porque me encanta mirar las caritas felices de todos recibiendo sus dulces. Me siento feliz de saber que de alguna manera estoy ayudado a la comunidad y seguiré haciendolo. Los invito hacer voluntarios en su comunidad, es una experiencia satisfactoria y ejemplar! Ademas es bueno tambien participar en todas las actividades culturales Mexicanas que nos ayudan a mantener nuestros lazos hispanos. Muchas gracias a Mirada por haberme escogido como Chica Mirada del mes de Noviembre.
