ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IMELDA M. CASTILLO SCHOOL ALS COORDINATOR
DR. DELFIN R. HERNANDEZ JR. PRINCIPAL III
INTRODUCTION Kapt. Jose Cardones has been a catalyst for education and very active in the advocacy and implementation of the Alternative Leaning System. To ensure that all are informed about its program and projects, advocacy and mobilization is being done by the ALS Coordinator, together with the learners, in cooperation with the Barangay Purok Leaders.. Going around the community to give flyers and advertisement to individuals and do the mapping on or before the Early Registration every first month of the year, January. Our school has been blessed with a partner who share their time in mentoring the ALS learners every Saturday. Convergys, one of the biggest BPO company in the Philippines, together with Hands On Manila Foundation, had made Kapt. Jose Cardones Elementary School a beneficiary for their program, “Convergys Connect for Education”. A program on which their employees in the BPO industry render their time for 2 hours to mentor learners. With this volunteerism program, it made a mark to our school that education for is possible. Aside from volunteerism work, they also give free school supply and t-shirt for our learners and a free snack/lunch for each learners. Aside from mentoring sessions with the ALS learners, they also give free Computer Trainings in MS Word, Excel and Popwerpoint Presentation. English 101 is also a training they shared with the learners wherein they are taught on how to express their self in English Communication. They also give free Interview Training wherein they could be trained and prepare for their job hunting. Osaka Japan University doctoral students also visited Kapt. Jose Cardones Memorial Elementary School to benchmark how ALS is being implemented. They go immersion within the community and observed learning session. It was indeed that our school is blessed to be visited by foreign students from such school abroad. Convergys also made a culminating activity within all who participated in the Convergys Connect for Education Program and Skills Training were given certificate and awards. Truly having them as our partners made our mission possible, to give education for least and the lost. Candle Making, Go Bag Assembly and Gift Wrapping are also some of the projects implemented in the school by Convergys. Chefs in Action Philippines also launch its Bread and Pastry for the ALS Learners for free. Indeed, all things are possible with the help of our stakeholders and partners for the future of all ALS learners. Especial thanks also to our City Government for being the primary partners of all schools in implementing the ALS program. To God be the glory!
