THE FOX AND THE GOAT One Day a fox fell into a well. The well was not deep, but its walls were steep. The fox tried again and again to come out of the well but in vain. After sometime a thirsty goat came to the well to drink some water. When he reached the well, he saw the fox. The goat said "Hello, Mr Fox”, what are you doing there?. The fox replied “Drinking water, my dear friend." Then the goat said “I am very thirsty”." Is the water cool and sweet ?." “Yeah sure, you will get a plenty of sweet water here”. The fox said," Come down and drink all the water." The goat believed the fox. He did not realise the real motive of the fox. The goat jumped into the well thoughtlessly. The fox quickly jumped on the goat's back and leaped from the tip of the goat's horns out of the well. “You foolish goat, you have big horns but no brain in your head” saying this the fox ran away and the goat got stuck in the well forever. SAVE TIGER
Tiger, tiger, mightily striped with eyes burning bright, Reigning in the forest with all you might. Today, the moment we hear you roar It’s like a warning bell asking for help to let your numbers soar. The world is ruthless with poachers skilled to kill and calling themselves brave, But never do they think that they are awfully naïve. It’s high time to raise our voice to see you live, As humans there is nothing more valuable than this that we can give. It’s our pledge clear and distinct, We will never let you be on the verge of getting extinct. You will be in this world as a symbol of Nationality, beauty, strength and pride Never to be in a cage or get killed and never to hide. It’s we who will save you and if we can't, we bow down in shame! So tiger be the mighty beast and live forever with fortune and fame

The Cayman Parrot. Once upon a time there lived a Cayman parrot. His name was Ronald. He lived with his parents on the high branch of a tree. His best friend was a Cockatiel and her name was Julia. One day Ronald and Julia were playing in the tree. Then Ronald said 'Julia, lets go to the farm. We can creep on farmer Joe's farm'. Then Julia said 'sounds good'. Then they went to farmer Joe's farm. Farmer Joe's son , Tom was very mischievous. He always used to throw stones at all the animals and birds in the farm. When they reached farmer Joe's farm, they saw Tom throwing stones at a cow. When he went away, Ronald and Julia quickly flew to the cow and said 'why is Tom throwing stones at you'? Then the cow said," Tom is a very mischievous boy and he always does this to all the birds and animals in the farm." Then Ronald and Julia flew to a little tree and they made a plan to teach Tom a lesson. The parrots collected ten sticks and then the next day when Tom came to the farm, they started throwing sticks at him. On the other hand Tom also started throwing stones at them, but none of the stones was able to hit the parrots because they were flying. All the sticks hit Tom badly. Tom got hurt and ran to his father and told everything and his father said 'It looks like you have got a lesson for being so cruel to the animals and birds of the farm. Tom promised his father that he will never be so cruel to the animals and birds of the farm. Ronald and Julia had been watching all this and then they went to the cow. The cow thanked the parrots and then they lived happily ever after. Rudranshu Sarkar Class IV

CATALYST REFLECTION A Trip To Rajgir with my family Too Busy To Be Scared : Last month, during my session break, l went for a short trip to Rajgir with my family. Rajgir is located in Nalanda district of Bihar and is an important pilgrimage site for Buddism followers. Rajgir is a perfect combination of spirituality with nature. I got the opportunity to visit Rajgir wildlife safari and Nature's safari. I saw many wild animals like lion, white tiger, cheetah and bear living in their natural habitat peacefully. The guide described us their names, daily routine, likes and dislikes. It was a whole new experience for me. I also visited Rajgir Glass bridge, Suspension bridge and Vishwa Shanti Stupa. Shanti stupa is a beautiful white peace pagoda located at the highest point of Ratnagiri hills. I did a lot of adventure activities like Trekking, Zip line, Bungee jumping, Burma bridge and boating. I got the chance to have an exciting horse cart (tanga) ride which is an important mode of transport also. It was a fun-filled trip for me and I enjoyed a lot with my cousin. This Rajgir trip will always be memorable for me.
Once upon a time, a man lived in the town of Otawa. Once, he met a tailor who was very famous for his stitching skills. The man challenged the tailor to sit near a grave and stitch a shirt for him at midnight. The tailor at once agreed because he was very brave and did not believe in ghosts. That day at midnight, the tailor went to the town's graveyard with all his equipment, sat down near a grave and started stitching. After a few minutes, that grave's ghost came out laughing terribly, but the tailor continued with his work without noticing the ghost. Then the ghost asked him in a shrill voice, "Can you see me?" The tailor replied, "Yes, I can, but I am too busy to look at you. I have to finish my work soon. " The ghost came out several times but the tailor didn't bother at all. He didn't even look at him. After the tailor finished his work, he noticed the ghost flying above his head. He was so much scared that he fainted on the spot. The ghost was happy to scare the tailor at last. The next morning, the man found the tailor lying there and brought him back to his senses by sprinkling water on his face. The tailor woke up and told him everything. Now both of them started believing in ghosts.

CATALYST REFLECTION The first day out with my friends After my final exams of class 4, my mother and I went to the Industrial Museum along with my friends Ishayu Talukder, Ayush Tripathi and their mothers. I was extremely excited because it was the first time I ever went out with my friends. We went there at about 11 a.m. My mother took the tickets and we entered. On the right there were many statues of great scientists of India. We read the given information. Then we entered the main building. It was a great experience. We saw some scientific experiments in the Science show. My friends and I participated in the contest. It was so much fun. We went to the artificial Coal Mine then. There was a person who gave the detailed explanation about the machines, risks and working procedures inside the mine. There were many rooms on different subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Biology etc. We all tried to explore the maximum applications that we saw. Few applications were related to our Science chapters like Force and Machines. We saw several machines and their applications. There was also a 3D show on the life of underwater species. After that we went to the canteen but we were late, and there was nothing left to eat. So we came out and ate Biryani, cold drinks, cold coffee etc. After spending the whole day with my friends, we went back home. Due to Corona and pandemic effects, we had to do online schooling for 2 years. That was the worst experience for us. So I never got chance to spend time with my friends outside the school. I think there are many, who have faced similar situation like me. So I just wish that we could get more time to explore new things with friends. Because being with friends is a great feeling. A trip to Changey falls
On every winter vacation we planned to visit new places. Last year we started our journey on 23rd Dec 2022 to visit Kalimpong. We stayed at homestay which was located 25 km away from the main town. It is a small village. The homestay was surrounded by lots of flowers and many pine trees and they also cultivated their own vegetables. On the 2nd day we started our journey to visit the tourist places which were near to visit. I saw many monasteries, I visited many places which were very beautiful lastly I went to Changey falls which was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. On the way to reach the Changey falls, I have seen lots of pine trees and devdar trees on both sides of the road. After that I went to the place where to visit the Fall, it was located in the downstairs of that mountain. There were approx 600 stairs to get down there and 1200 stairs to both get down and up. The stairs were made by cutting the slopes of the mountain. It was a very Rocky and sloppy way. When I reached there I saw the fall which was very beautiful. The water is falling between the two mountains, the sound of the water falls was really amazing, I was scared at first but later I enjoyed it, it was covered with lots of big rocks. I enjoyed the beauty of the falls. There were beautiful birds and squirrels. The chirping of the birds was wonderful. It was full of adventure.

RAINY SEASON
Summer is the hottest season and after this summer comes the rainy season. It generally starts in June and continues upto end of September. During this season the sky remains covered with dark clouds. Sometimes it rains with thunderstorm and lightening. Ponds, river, and lakes are filled with water. Most of the roads are covered with mud, so it's become difficult for everyone to walk on roads. Children love to play in rain. They don't have to go to school. A rainy day is not at all pleasant for the poor. This rainy season helped to remove my tiredness, it soothed my soul and rejuvenated me.

CATALYST REFLECTION My experience of staying in a haunted house Last year, I went to Kalimpong with my parents. I was scared as well as excited to know that we will be staying at Morgan House Tourist Lodge, one of the most haunted places in West Bengal. When I reached there in the afternoon, I found ferns, mosses, creepers and cobwebs all over the surface of the house to give it a spooky look. As evening approached, I pulled down the curtains of the windows in our room and secured them properly so that I might not see a horrible face of ghost at night at the windows. Gradually cold, dense fog and darkness engulfed the entire area. Even the trees and the street dogs looked scary in dimmed street lights. At night, we enjoyed delicious dinner consisting of steaming hot momos and were eagerly listening to the haunting incidents about the house as told by the manager. He told us that many people has heard the screams and sound of footsteps of the ghost of Mrs Morgan, the original owner of the house. At 12' clock at night, we went out of the house to explore and enjoy the spooky surroundings. The Morgan House looked even more scary amidst foggy darkness and eerie silence interrupted by howling of foxes. I hoped to meet the ghost of Mrs. Morgan, if any, but I was not lucky enough to meet one such! Then we went to sleep. Next morning I woke up with a beautiful sunshine. There was the majestic Kanchenjungha in the backdrop of the lush green golf couse right in front of the Morgan House. After having breakfast, we set out for our journey back home with the thrilling memories of staying in a haunted house. Sonakshi Majumder Chatterjee Class :V

CATALYST REFLECTION Discovering a new planet
The Sky (Poem)
Up above there is the sky Where the birds fly so high. Look at the big and bright sun Play together and have lots of fun. The shiny and silver sphere comes soon Can you guess it? Yes, it is the moon. There comes the twinkling star I wish I could also fly so far. Sometimes when the sky is blue I wish my dreams really come true. Suddenly there is a gift from God It's a pretty rainbow, thank the Lord.

We all know that planet earth in the milky way galaxy out of eight planets in the solar system that hosts life is able to sustain life due to it's atmosphere that prevents the earth from harsh environment. We have seen scientists often discover a new planet, which was exactly what happened with Aayan and Aditi. Aayan Singh and Aditi Das were working with NASA(National aeronautics and space administration)for 5 years. As any other day, Aayan was doing some research. While Aditi was observing planets from the telescope ,when she noticed a planet she hadn't seen before. She quickly called Aayan over. Seeing this new planet was a shock to everybody After some research and observation it was decided to name it Tulia .It was an interesting start of a amazing journey for Aayan and aditi but, what if something more was awaiting them? AN EXPERIENCE OF A ROCK CLIMBING COURSE
I like adventurous sports very much . In December, 2022 I got an opportunity to attend a Rock Climbing Course conducted by *Roman - De-La- Adventure, Hoogly. This course was held at Bansa hill,Tulin,Jhalda, Purulia. The training was for four days .As Rock climbing is one of the toughest adventure sports, it needs concentration, patience, both mental and physical strength and ability to find the right way. I was overjoyed while I was able to learn how to cross a river using ropes, carabiners , harness etc. The main thing I had learnt were time management, discipline, helping my coclimbers. With the guidance of the trainers we could successfully reach our goal. The whole experience was inexpressibly awesome! The sweet memories of the people I met, the trainers I got, the journey, the life lived for those four days, will be there with me forever.

The Royal Elephant
A royal elephant ran to the sea, He moved side by side walking free. He played with children and said “Hurray!” He kicked the ball and jumped all the way. The king tried to put him in chain, But all his efforts went in vain. He can come in children’s dream, But you cannot cage him. Pleasure to see him rolling on grass, We should keep him free like us.

Transformation: A Story
Take a chunk of potter's clay. It is tender. A touch can create a dent but at the same time, it can be gently shaped to any form. You can harden, paint and create different eye catching models of your choice. The transformation is dramatic and magical. This is like how a crude caterpillar within a shell, slowly but certainly evolves into an elegant butterfly and spreads its wings in the outside world. The symbolism applies to us, educators, in a great way. The tiny tots enter school and surrender to us teachers. They evolve, grow and rebuild themselves while holding our hands all the way. For them it is learning. But, for us, this is a journey of privilege, hope and satisfaction, with plenty of sweet and sour memories to cherish. Personally, it is like reading a story book, enjoying every chapter and finally arriving at a delightful conclusion. The experience, truly enriching and very satisfying indeed, not only to be a part of this developmental process but above all for being able to contribute positively to it.

Aiming for the greater things Everyone has time, It's just that they don't want to spare. Can I be one of them? Ignore them, as if I don't care? Kindness is not everyone's cup of tea. Humanity is rare to find, Selfless love to EVERYONE THANK God! I always bear these in mind. Feed yourself with love, fondness and care, Reveal your true self, Fake people are all around you. A call for change
The world we live in needs our care, Our planet's health is not very fair. It's time to act and bring some change, For that everything has to be re arranged. Let's go green and keep the surroundings clean. Plant more trees and keep our mother earth green. Using less water and turning off lights will save energy day and night. Don't throw things away! Find its new use every day. We can walk or ride a bike, To less pollution that we don’t like. Use cloth bags and say no to plastic, And cutting down trees is really drastic. So, let's protect our planet and keep it green, For a better future to be seen.

There is more than to teach.
There was, many years ago, an elementary teacher, Mrs Susmita Acharya. As she stood in front of the fifth grade, she lied to her children every morning." I love all of you equally." But that was impossible for there sat on the first bench of the first row, a child named Shreyansh, a very ordinary boy with a shabby dress. Mrs. Acharya had been noticing Shreyansh for one year and pointed out that he didn't play well, get along with other children or enjoyed his studies. She thought Shreyansh was very unpleasant and it got to the point that she would take delight in marking X's and then putting a big 'F' in his paper. At the end of the term, Mrs Acharya was required to review each child's past records and then she was taken aback with surprise when she got Shreyansh's past record. Shreyansh 's first grade teacher wrote, "He is a neat and hardworking child". His second-grade teacher wrote," He is excellent at work and play and most - liked by his classmates." His third-grade teacher wrote," He tries hard but his mother's terminal illness is troubling his studies." His fourth-grade teacher wrote," Shreyansh is withdrawn and is not showing interest in studies. His mother's death has been hard on him." By now, Mrs Acharya realised the problem and was ashamed of herself. She even felt worse as on Teachers' Day, while all other students gave her gifts wrapped in fancy papers, Shreyansh had brought a tiny gift wrapped in some clumsy, brown paper and she didn't even care to open it . She rushed to her locker, opened the brown paper and found a a small bottle with one quarter of perfume. She dabbed some perfume on her wrist, some on her clothes and went to her class. The shy boy on the first bench came up to her and said, " Today you smell just like my mom used to." Mrs Acharya could not hold back her tears. After the children left that day, she cried for at least one hour From that day she quit teaching reading, writing and arithmetic. Instead, she began to teach children. Parents' Feedback Hello, I, Steven Graham, guardian of Anastasia Graham would like to take this opportunity and let you all know about my daughter's journey in K.G, B.D. Memorial school, Golf Garden branch from 2022 till March 2023. Initially, she was a bit shy to join her new school but not scared. I will call K.G the root to the tree. Definitely the root needs to be strong enough to let its branches grow. I would like to thank all the teaching staff and Head staff of the school for taking her through her journey of Kindergarten. Anastasia was a very shy girl at first, but having a beautiful and caring teacher like Ankita ma'am has made a great change in her as far as her study preparations were concerned. Additionally, she took her school to be her second home where she made new friends and learned many new things, and was encouraged to take part in a few school activities as well. This will help her throughout her schooling life. Thank you to all the teachers and support staff for always having that beautiful smile on their faces. This definitely is an encouragement for the students to do better. She's definitely going to miss her first session of school, but from the bottom of our hearts, we as parents would like to say a big thank you once again to all those who supported our children throughout the journey of kindergarten. Parents' Feedback With extreme happiness I am sharing my experience with the school. As reflected by my son Dikshan Banerjee's progress in the school , me and my son love the friendly atmosphere. Teachers are very supportive and effective with their communication. It is a wonderful atmosphere for our kids to learn play &get educated, l feel so gratified when l see my son act &react so intelligently in situations, in course of the past year he became an independent learner. Students have a stress free environment here, having limited students in each class makes it easy for the teacher to have personal touch. Last for not the least l can very well see the mental growth of my child through activities done in school , thank you Esha ma’am and other teachers ,incharge Ma’am,and Director Ma’am for your kind effort to improve and provide brilliant environment for growth of my son. Iam proud to part of BDM family. Regards. Deepmala Banerjee (Dikshan’s mother)
It was a mixed experience through out the whole year of "Prep " journey. Being parents we are very much satisfied with the school environment & also the teachers. Within one year the school became a second home to my child & it was only possible because of all the teachers & their mother-like behavior. Sampurno had participated in Sports, Recitation, Music and many other activities from school, we are overjoyed. The education system is totally activity based. My child learned many things this last year. We're very much thankful to every teacher. Our sincere gratitude towards them. **Apart from this we had some coordination problems with school and class teacher but when Esha mam had taken charge, everything seemed to be excellent.
