Nurse’s Corner Please check your child for lice/nits. If your child has lice/nits please have them treated and contact the school’s nurse clerk for policy procedures. Please check your child often. We will be doing lice checks every other Friday. The next one will be August 14th, 2015. Those students who are found with lice/nits will be sent home and must be checked upon their return on Monday August 17th, 2015.

Por favor asegúrese que su hijo/a no tenga piojos/liendres. Si su hijo/a tiene piojos o liendres pónganle tratamiento y comuníquese con la enfermera para que le indique los procedimientos a seguir. Vaccines... Please make sure your child has vaccines/ boosters he/she may need by now or else he/she will not be able to attend classes. ***Students who will be 12 years old this year must have received “Tdap” & “Meningococcal” vaccines prior to the beginning of school. Padres Activos... Parents welcome to our 2015-2016 school year! We are glad to announce that we will choose our parent council for this year at our next Padres Activos meeting. The objective of this parent council is to work in partnership with the school to create a collaborative school environment inclusive of all parents and children. We will choose a representative for each level, a secretary, a treasurer, and a president. We will discuss further details at the meeting. Thank you!

News from the Classroom... Kindergarten ¡Bienvenidos padres y alumnos! Este nuevo ciclo escolar comienza y con toda la emoción para trabajar. Es muy importante la comunicación entre casa y escuela para asegurar el éxito en los estudiantes. La lectura diaria será asignada como tarea desde el primer día de clases. A nuestro salón le toca vender en la tiendita por lo que se le solicitan donaciones de los siguientes productos: nachos, queso para nachos, galletas de avena, granolas, palomitas sin grasa, fruta fresca, gelatinas, jugos 100% natural, fruit rolls, te, yogurt, paletas de hielo tipo bullets, nieve y desechables. Estos productos están autorizados por la escuela y son los que se pueden vender. Recuerde registrar su recibo de compra para que les cuente como horas de servicio. ¡Gracias! This new school year is starting with lots of excitement to work. Communication between home and school is very important to help students succeed. Reading will be assigned as daily homework as of the 1 st day of school. Our classroom is having the tiendita this week and we are asking for your donations of the following products: chips and cheese for nachos, oatmeal cookies, granola bars, non-fat popcorn, fresh fruit, jello, 100% natural juices box, fruit rolls, tea, yogurt, popsicles(bullets), ice cream and paper plates, forks, spoons and napkins. These products are authorized by the school. Remember to turn in your purchase tickets to get service hours. Thank you!

Level I: 1st & 2nd Deseamos darle la más cordial bienvenida a todos los padres de familia y estudiantes al ciclo escolar 2015-2016. Invitamos a todos nuestros estudiantes a poner todo su esfuerzo para lograr las metas y objetivos en este nuevo ciclo. El primer nivel tendrá a cargo “La tiendita” del día 10 al 14 de agosto. Incluimos una lista de los artículos que pueden ser donados: Nachos, tostitos, queso, pudding, pepihuates, palomitas de maiz (skinny girl), caprisun, galletas de avena, granolas, fruta fresca, gelatina, galletas de arroz, jugo 100% natural, frui rolls, hi-chews, te, yogurt, puré de manzana, paletas de hielo (bullets), v8, tajín, útiles escolares, pizza, burritos y nieve. ¡Gracias! Ms. Letty Mada and Ms. Cassidy Raeber would like to send a warm welcome to all of our students and their families. This year we have excellent hands-on lessons in Language Arts, Science, Math and Ceramics/Art. We need your support at home to help start your child's day with good hygiene. Each day they should arrive with a clean uniform, combed hair, trimmed nails and brushed teeth. We will send home a homework table for Language Arts every two weeks. Please help your child practice their spelling, reading, and vocabulary in both languages. We look forward to getting to know each of our students and their families throughout the year.

Level III: 5th & 6th Estimados Padres, las maestras de Nivel III , Mrs. Prado y Mrs. Murrieta nos es muy grato darles la MAS CORDIAL bienvenida a este nuevo ciclo escolar 2015-2016, donde no solo está lleno de retos y desafíos, SINO TAMBIEN de una gran expectativa de lograr los estándares académicos de cada una de las materias. Level IV: 7th & 8th Nivel IV les da la bienvenida a todos sus nuevos y antiguos estudiantes al ciclo escolar 15-16.
