ARTHUR CARLYLE “Batman” Butler Jr. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS 08|05|88 – 01|04|23

Arthur “Batman” Butler fondly called AJ was born August 5, 1988, in Albany, Ga to Arthur and Angela Butler. AJ was a 2007 graduate of Dougherty High School, where he was an active member of the “phantom Trojan Marching Band.” After graduation, he attended Albany Technical College where he pursued a degree in Criminal Justice. He continued his passion for music by playing in the “Albany State Marching Rams Show Band and assisting with several of the local high school bands. He confessed to Christ at an early age, joining Abundant Life Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Sanctuary of Grace. AJ always had a love for Christ and music, playing drums for several churches such as Abundant Life Baptist Church, Kingdom Faith Global Ministry and New Destiny Baptist Church, as well as performing several glorifying praise dances. AJ was always willing to share his love for Christ and his story of encouragement with everyone. From 14 months to 34 years, AJ has faced many adversities, including childhood cancer, medical issues and being an amputee. Through it all, he remained positive and never let his faith waiver. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and was often referred to by his loving mother as her “AMAZING WARRIOR”. His lifelong love for “BATMAN” began at a young age when he first met Kim Bassinger and saw his first Batman movie that stared Michael Keaton. During his early fight with cancer, it was this movie that help to sustain him. He model his life by the Batman Mottos “in order to achieve anything in life, you must be willing to make many sacrifices” and” it’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.” AJ entered eternal peace on January 4, 2023. A TRUE WARRIOR ! Arthur "Batman" Butler Jr. a warrior to the very end..... and those that were close to him knew he was a loyal and true friend.....If you were around AJ, you knew he had a giving heart..... and if you talked with him, you also knew that he was very smart..... he was small in stature but a grand of a man.. .. who enjoyed life the most when he was marching in the band..... he would tell you to live each day as if it was your last..... because you can't predict the future and no need worrying about the past..... he took whatever God sent his way and made the best of it..... when it came to his challenges, he didn't know the meaning of the word "quit"..... all his life he had to fight medical battles, but he never fought alone..... because Angela, Arthur, Daniel and Skeeter was always there to ensure that he made it back home..... if you could see his face now, you'll see a big smile and even a grin..... because when he got to Heaven his Granny was there to welcome him in.
