A Note From Agnes Royal Oaks Residents, As we approach the upcoming holidays of Easter and Passover, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to all those celebrating. We hope this season brings you joy, peace, and time spent with loved ones. As we gear up for graduation season, we would like to invite Royal Oaks residents to share their photos of graduates. Whether it’s from high school or college, we want to celebrate the achievements of our young people. We are also seeking submissions for our Young Achiever article. If your child has excelled in a sport, academic pursuit, or other goal, please let us know. We would love to feature them in our upcoming issue. Lastly, we are still on the lookout for a junior writer to join our team as a contributor. If you know of someone who has a passion for writing and would like to gain experience in the publishing industry, please encourage them to apply. Thank you, and best wishes for a wonderful holiday season from my family to yours.
Sincerely,

woman who could help others. Following this, she joined the 2017 Mrs. Universe pageant and became the first-ever Vietnamese woman to win. In competing, Tram not only wanted to showcase her unique charms and undeniable beauty but also to help inspire men and women of all ages to feel confident in their skin. During the pageant, she realized how vital self-confidence and health are and hoped she could help others feel the same. She proceeded to open a beauty and wellness med spa with her husband, Darryl Camp, that brings a comprehensive and more natural approach to help patients improve their health, prevent age-related changes, and improve overall outlook on life. In their journey, they discovered the fountain of youth comes from tissue regeneration and hormone optimization. We employ several techniques and technologies, including platelet-rich plasma. Agnes and Scarlet RF administer non-surgical facelifts, Hiful ultrasound for fine lines and wrinkles and create a line chin. They offer many other services to maintain body and skin such as Hydrafacial, Laser Hair Removal, Hair Growth, Body Contour and more. the University of North Texas. He then earned his medical degree from the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio in 1995, after which he completed his residency in neurology at the said establishment. Dr. Camp also found a clinic for men that cater to men’s physiology and overall, well-being. The clinic targets all men’s essential needs and more. With patented technology, they offer services to help men overcome erectile dysfunction and improve their sex lives. OB Men also works to reverse the effects of aging in men. ram Luu is a Vietnamese American entrepreneur breaking into the world of self-care and cosmetics. Growing up in Da Nang, Vietnam, Tram struggled to find opportunities to express herself. From a young age, her peers and teachers encouraged her to partake in local pageants, but her mother always rejected the idea due to her family’s financial state. Though she could not participate in the pageants, she had been left with a newfound interest that she knew she wanted to make a career out of. ard work comes easily to entrepreneur Chris Asumnu. The owner of Greenwave Pools, he had a football scholarship to Tulane University, where he excelled on the field. After a few NFL workouts and playing in an arena football league for Kansas City, Chris returned to the classroom. He earned a Communications degree with a minor in Business Accounting. “I worked for an engineering company in Houston, Texas as a project engineer analyst and then went into software engineering. I worked on products and brought them to market,” says Chris. Throughout his professional life, there was one constant – “I’ve always been around pools,” says Chris. He has been in the pool business for 22 years. His love for pools dates back to his childhood days. As an adult, he developed a passion for taking care of pools and servicing them. “I love the outdoors,” smiles Chris. He learned how to clean different pools, repair pools, and fix pools that had algae issues, and solve people’s pool problems. “My passion has always been to help people,” explains Chris. “My vision is to empower others through learning and teaching every day. every day in the pool business. I get a kick out of that. I love that part of the business a lot.” Currently, Chris has three employees at Greenwave Pools and enjoys his small team. SERVICES OFFERED
Why maintain your pool yourself when a professional can do it for you? Have your pool cleaned and maintained with the expertise of Greenwave Pools. Save time and enjoy your life by letting Chris and his team handle your pool concerns. Whether you are looking for tile cleaning, pool coping, swimming pool cleaning, or pool filter cleaning, Chris does it all. He even fixes clogged pumps, dirty filters, and melted filter pump fittings. Leaks are also no problem at all for Chris. Neither are renovations. From re-plastering to retiling, Chris does not disappoint. “We specialize in pool cleaning, services, maintenance, equipment, repairs, remodels, and renovations,” says Chris. He works on existing pools as well as new construction. Chris also does hardscaping, outdoor custom fireplaces, custom walkways, firepits, and water features. He would be delighted to make your vision for your backyard a reality.
If you have questions or concerns about your pool or outdoor living space, call Chris. He would be happy to assess your pool for problems, develop a plan, and implement that plan. “Things I’ve learned as a project engineer include creating an inspection plan and knowing when failure is going to occur,” he explains. He uses his logical system in troubleshooting people’s pools to make sure that they stay pristine and in tip-top shape. “Every pool is a case-by-case basis,” he says. He understands customers’ concerns and provides professional quality service. Reducing bacteria, algae and debris build up is important in maintaining a healthy pool. Chris came up with the name of his business after saying goodbye to green pools. He says, “I wave goodbye to green pools and say hello to blue pools. And I make sure it stays that way.” The name of his business is also a nod to his college football days at Tulane University Green Waves. It’s a brilliant marketing move that also credits Chris’ days on the football field, which he cherishes. He always knew that he loved to serve others and work hard. “I wanted to provide good honest service and leave customers with value and respect,” he says. “I wanted to do things the right way and Greenwave Pools was perfect for me.” For more information, check out Chris’ website, greenwavepools.com, or give him a call at 713-823-8087. ow. Is it really just March? There have already been so many activities, and more are in the works for 2023! Check out the Club App Quick Links and click on Upcoming Events. Just keep on scrolling. Yes, there are that many activities you have an opportunity to attend. It only takes seconds to see how very active our Royal Oaks Ladies Association continues to be. As we continue to recognize noteworthy women, both well-known and lesser known, at our monthly Happy Hour, we find ourselves honoring Coco Chanel on March 29th. Like her fashion sense, she fits perfectly as Fashion week is in March. Happy Hour is the last Wednesday of every month in the Fleur de Lis & Living Room, unless otherwise specified, with complimentary Hors d’Oeuvres and member sign beverages. Speaking of fashion, another HCC Fashionable Lunch is scheduled for April 13th. There is a limit of 22 so we are asking those who were lucky enough to attend this event last year to please wait to register and allow others to have an opportunity to tour one of the largest fashion archives around and enjoy a multi-course luncheon at HCC’s culinary school. Chef Olivier’s cooking class was a huge hit. The 14 ladies in attendance learned so much and enjoyed an incredible lunch of crispy skin salmon, savoy cabbage fondue, steamed potatoes, beurre blanc sauce followed by apple thin tart topped with vanilla ice cream. All of this they prepared themselves under Chef’s direction. On the third Monday of each month, Lunch Bunch continues to meet at different restaurants. It’s a wonderful

We’ve before reported that our Lunch Bunch coorganizer, Dianne Williams, one of our original and surely one of our most active members, could be moving. That move is creeping up on us and becoming a reality. Thank you, Dianne, for all you’ve done. We wish you and Leo all the best in your new adventures. There will be more information upcoming about the Woodland Heights Tour on April 17th. Julie Gray, our new Bus Liaison & Off-Site Events Chair, has been busy researching future field trips and has some interesting ideas in the works. ortugal is a small country that you can easily fall in love with. It packs a big punch in terms of culture, history, and natural beauty. From picturesque towns and stunning coastlines to cosmopolitan cities filled with art, music, and delicious food, Portugal has something for everyone. In this article, we will dive deeper into four of the most captivating destinations in Portugal: Sintra, Obidos, Porto, and Lisbon. Sintra is a charming town located just outside of Lisbon, known for its fairytale castles, lush gardens, and stunning vistas. It’s no wonder that it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town is home to several breathtaking castles and palaces, including the famous Palacio do Pena. This 19th-century castle is perched high on a hilltop and boasts colorful turrets, intricate stonework, and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can also explore the stunning gardens and lakes of the Quinta da Regaleira estate or admire the Moorish and Gothic architecture of the Sintra National Palace. For a truly magical experience, make sure to visit Sintra during the early mornings to avoid crowds.

Obidos is another picturesque town that transports visitors back in time to the medieval era. Located just an hour’s drive north of Lisbon, this walled city has been beautifully preserved and is known for its narrow-cobbled streets, whitewashed houses, and impressive castle. Visitors can explore the ramparts of the castle, climb the towers for breathtaking views of the town and countryside, and wander through the quaint alleys and squares, stopping at local shops and cafes along the way. Don’t forget to try the famous cherry liqueur served in a chocolate cup, a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages. Porto, one of my favorites, is a lively city located in the north of Portugal, known for its charming old town, famous port wine, and stunning riverside views. The city’s historic center has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and is a joy to explore on foot. Visitors can stroll along the cobbled streets and alleys, admiring the colorful tiled facades of the buildings and stopping at the numerous cafes, restaurants, and shops that line the way. The city’s most famous attraction is the Douro River, which winds its way through the city and offers breathtaking views of the port wine cellars, the iconic Dom Luis Bridge, and the

The city is built on seven hills, which means that visitors are always treated to panoramic views of the city and the Tagus River.
