As we continue our Easter journey I wish to offer my heartfelt thanks to the more than 550 families who contributed to our parish achieving the Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA) goal this year. It is a sign of your generosity in the sharing of your treasure in support of the mission of our Catholic Church in the Diocese of San Jose. Our call to serve as a Church, the mission Jesus sends us on, is connected to the greater Catholic family throughout the world. Your gifts of time, talent and treasure in stewardship of God’s generosity are signs of that great love. Our call to evangelize the world is an act of generosity. In the coming days many families in our parish will bring forward their children to receive their first Holy Communion. This blessing is a reminder that the greatest gift we share with one another is our faith in Jesus Christ. When we live and practice our faith with intentional works of love and compassion, the Works of Mercy, we bring the Kingdom of God to all our relationships. The work of teaching the faith is the work of each and every baptized Christian. We can only do this as individuals, families and community when we live in a deep and prayerful relationship with Jesus Christ. SVDP Outreach Corner Pantry Food Distribution: If you are in need of a bag of groceries for your family, the Outreach Office is open five days a week from 10:00 am to 11:45 am. We can also give you a list of other food resources that are available to help you feed your children. Silicon Valley Gives: The Santa Clara County Council of St. Vincent de Paul is participating in Silicon Valley Gives. Donations are being accepted now thru Tuesday, May 3rd. To donate go to: www.svdp.org/santaclara and click on the Silicon Valley Gives banner at the top. Please restrict your donation to either the St. Lucy Conference or for rent and utilities so that your donation will go to the needy families of our Parish. Volunteers Needed: We have openings to help staff the Outreach Office on Wednesdays from 10 am to noon. All staff members need to attend at least one SVDP Conference meeting per month. We are also in need of someone who is detail orientated and computer literate to help do data entry. Grocery List - Please add a can of vegetables and a can of fruit to your weekly shopping for the Outreach food pantry. Donations of food can be made during Outreach Office hours or on the third Sunday of the month when you come to Mass.

Starting on April 22nd our parishioner Oscar Lombardi will attempt to complete the pilgrimage to the Holy City of Santiago de Compostela for a third time. This time he will walk the “Via de la Plata” route which goes from Seville in Southern Spain to Santiago de Compostela; on old Roman route some 630 miles long. Scholarship Award ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS!!! The Knights Of Columbus Bishop O’Dowd Council 3474 is now accepting scholarship applications. Applicants must be high school seniors and be a member of one of the six parishes that the council serves. This (1) $500.00 Award is presented to an outstanding individual selected from the applications received. The criteria for the selection is based on financial need, Grade Point Average, and extra curricular activities including those with church and community.
