34633167096 E-mail: [email protected] Web: www.armitour.com 3 PROGRAM DETAILS Day 1: We are meeting at the port of Tarifa and have a short panoramic tour in the city of Tarifa which is an old Islamic castle situated at the tip of the Gibraltar Strait. Then head to the famous beach side Marbella & Puerto Banus. We will see the beautiful seaside, high societies’ yachts, high quality shops and commercial centers in that area. After giving some free time for shopping there we will continue to Mijas which is a typical traditional Andalusian village with its white houses, small streets with flowers and small shops. After a pleasant visit in Mijas, we will continue driving to Granada where we will stay for the night. Day 3: This morning we will drive to Cordoba. Upon our arrival we will start our tour here with a walk on the streets of the old district, between old Andalusian houses, streets with flowers and fountains. Cordoba used to be the capital of Muslims for 500 years in the Medieval Period. It was known as the capital of scholars, culture and Andalusian caliphate. Ibn Rushd (Averroes), Maimonides and many others worked and lived in this amazing medieval capital. You can still feel this matchless history on the streets of the Cordoba. Day 2: This morning we will visit the Alhambra Palace, the “pearl” of Al Andalus. After a guided tour here for around 3 hours, we will start to explore beautiful Granada. Albayzin old Muslim district, Moroccan bazaars, Calle Elvira, Plaza de Isabel de Catolica, Old Bedesten Corral de Carbon, Cathedral of Granada (from outside) will be some spots to visit. In our free time in the city center, you have a chance to try “tapas”, incredible traditional food of Andalusia. And the wonderful mosque, . After our visit in Cordoba, we will continue to Seville. Day 4: The capital and the biggest city of the modern province of Andalusia, Seville, will be our first destination today. We will start our visit in avenue of palm trees and see “casas” of the countries of American continent, Plaza of America and stop in peerless Plaza of España. Then we will continue our visit passing through the historical district “Santa Cruz” seeing old traditional houses of Seville, and its narrow streets and feeling the memories of the inquisitorial period. Upon reaching the Plaza de Triunfo (Victory Square) we will see the most famous monuments of Seville: The Cathedral of Seville, The Bell Tower: Giralda, The Palace of Castilla Kings: Alcazar, the building of Indian Archives. After our visit here, we will have some free time for shopping and then head to Lisbon for overnight. Day 6: Today is the departure day. Depending on our flight time we will have some free time in the morning and then we will drive to the airport and finish our tour with unforgettable memories. Day 5: This morning we are starting our day by visiting Belem district. We will see the famous Belem Tower, Jerónimos Monastery and Monument to the Discoveries. We will give a small free time to taste amazing traditional desserts of Belem. After that, we will continue to the city center and see Praça Comercio, Baixa district, Rossio and Restauradores squares, Liberdade Street, Marques de Pombal Square and historical Alfama district. We will leave our bus in Alfama and start our walking tour in the streets of Alfama to see old houses, traditional fado restaurants and markets. First we will start our panoramic tour in the city with our bus. We will see Montjuic Hill, Olympic Area and Stadium, Plaza España, Port of Barcelona, marina, Barceloneta district, Port Olímpic, Cathedral of Sagrada Familia (from outside) and Champs-Élysées of Barcelona: Paseo de Gracia. We will leave our bus in the Plaza of Catalunya and we will start our walking tour to discover the secret wonders of Barcelona. The city was planned by arcane freemason Ildefonso Cerda in the 19th century over the Roman and medieval Barcelona. We will search the mysteries of the city in the streets of the Gothic district. La Rambla, Laietana, Temple of Augustus, La Boqueria, Aragon archives and Cathedral of Barcelona will be only some of them which we will see in this pleasant trip. After our trip, we will have a short free time for shopping then we will head to our hotel. Day 2: Today, after breakfast we are visiting Gerona y Figueras. Girona is an amazing historical city and also one of the main filming areas of the famous Game of Thrones. City walls, cathedral, Roman road and city gate, Arab baths, Jewish quarter, La Rambla: historical market area, Plaza de Independencia are some spots which we will see in the city. After Girona, we will continue to Figueras to visit the wonderful museum of Dali. You can see paintings, sculptures, jewelries and tombs of this surrealist artist here. In our city tour we will see Turia Gardens, Park of Gulliver, Palacio of Musica, City of Arts and Science, Palacio of Arts Reina Sofia, Mercado Central, La Loja, Plaza Redonda, Plaza de Reina, Cathedral of Valencia and Palace of the famous Borgia family. After our trip, we will have some free time for shopping and dinner. Make sure you try the famous paella of Valencia while we are here. We will finish our day in our hotel in Valencia. Day 4: After breakfast, we will drive to inland Spain to the Castilla la Mancha region and visit Toledo which is the historical capital of the Kingdom of Castilla. Toledo, the town itself, is an open air museum which has been declared as a world heritage by UNESCO. We will start our trip in Toledo from San Martin Bridge, after we will pass by Jewish quarter and see old synagogues. Cathedral of Toledo, one of the oldest cathedral of Spain, the main square of Zoco, Alcazar of Toledo, Castle of San Servando and iron workshops making peerless “damasquinado” works will be other spots that we will see. We will start our visit with a panoramic tour by our bus. Plaza de Toro (bullfight arena), Plaza de Independencia, Puerta de Alcalá, Paseo de Castellana, Biblioteca Nacional, Plaza de Colón, Nuevos Ministerios, Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Plaza Castilla, Puerta de Europa, Plaza Cibeles, Palacio de Comunicaciones (Ayuntamiento), Banco España, Instituto Cervantes, Plaza Neptuno, Museo Prado, famous Gran Via (Broadway of Madrid) and Plaza España will be some spots which we will be seeing in this panoramic tour. Then we will leave the bus and start walking to pass through Royal Palace, Cathedral, Calle Mayor, historical square Plaza Mayor and will stop in the main square of the city Puerta del Sol. Upon arrival in Granada, we will have a panoramic tour in the city centre and we will see Roman Bridge. Then we will leave the bus and start walking. We will see Paseo del Violon, Calle Reyes de Catholicos, an Andalusian heritage old bazaar Coral de Carbon, Plaza Isabel de Catholica, Gran Via, Catedral of Granada and old Muslim district Albayzin. See the marvellous view of Granada from Mirador de San Nicolas and then head to our hotel in Granada. Tonight we will join a Gipsy night to watch a dance performance full of passion. Overnight in Granada. Day 2: This morning we will leave Granada and head to Baeza and then Ubeda towns in which we will arrive after an approximately 1,5 hour drive. These two Andalusian towns, which are located between the endless olive groves in the north of Granada, have been home to impressive works of the Spanish medieval and Renaissance eras, and in 2003, they were included in the UNESCO world heritage list. They carry the glory of Spain to the present. First, on our walking tour in Baeza, we will see the town square, the Baeza Cathedral from outside, the Jabalquinto Palace, the medieval university building, the Santa Maria Square, the lion fountain and the historical houses. After our walking tour we will have some free time for you to enjoy Baeza more and to have a chance to visit unique museums and monuments here. After Baeza, our next stop is Ubeda. During our walking tour here, we will see the historical Jewish quarter and old streets, the Consistoriales House, San Pablo Church, Vela-Cobos Palace, San Lorenzo Church, San Nicolas Church and the historical Santiago Hospital. After this medieval journey now we will turn our route to Roman age. This time we will head to the ruins of Castulo where we will see Roman and Iberians ruins. A new discovery, marvellous Roman mosaic of Castulo awaits us in the ruins of Roman villa of Castulo. Also, we will see Roman baths, Iberian defence walls, Roman and Iberian tombs in the city. After our visit in Castulo we will drive to Cordoba to check in our hotel there.

After our visit and free time in Carmona we will continue to Seville. On arrival in the city, we will have a panoramic tour in the city center by our bus and check in our hotel here, in Seville. After our visit here, we will head to the first Roman colony outside of Italy: Roman Italica! It is also called as “the city of emperors” because it is the birthplace of two famous emperors: Trajan and Hadrian. We will see ruins of the city, mosaics and listen to its fascinating history: founded by Africanus Scipio, punished by Caesar… After the Italica visit one of the most beautiful Roman sites, Baelo Claudia, will be waiting for us. For Baelo, we will turn our route to the south, near Gibraltar, to the ocean. In Baelo, founded near the ocean, over the wonderful white sands of the amazing beach side we will see one of the best forum structures, baths, macellum, theater, basilica, “garum” workshops. This city will make you fall in love with itself not only with its Roman heritage but also its marvelous nature. After our visit there we will continue to the seaside, to see the southernmost point of Europe: Tarifa. Then we will head to Algeciras, near Gibraltar, for overnight. Seville Plaza De España

Ronda became famous with Hemingway’s masterpiece “For Whom the Bell Tolls”. The book tells us the dark days of Ronda during Spanish Civil War. However, since the 18th century, this place has been one of the main haunts for travelers because of its natural beauty. Canyons, cliffs, its amazing bridge, oldest bullfight arena of Spain and its wonderful beauties like Italian Toscana. After our visit here we will continue to Roman site Acinipo, near Ronda for a short but pleasant visit where we will see a wonderful Roman theater along with other ruins. After all the wonders on the earth now it is time for an underworld visit! We will see a Roman necropolis, in the north, near the typical Andalusian village Osuna. Then we will drive back to our start point, to Malaga and check in our hotel there. Day 6: We will start our trip on the Mediterranean coast. Malaga is the center of the “costa de sol” which means “sunny beach”. Because the sun is shining over this beautiful city more than 350 days a year. We will see a part of this famous beach, botanic gardens of the city, Castle of Gibralfaro, cathedral of the city, Plaza Constitución, Roman theater, Andalusian castle, Picasso Museum, History of Art and Archaeology Museum from outside in our panoramic tour. Then we will give free time in the city center for you to visit the exciting museums of the city or to explore remarkable boutiques for shopping or to taste famous tapas of the amazing Andalusian kitchen. Day: Alcala de Henares and Madrid; Today we will have a day trip to Alcala de Henares where Cervantes, recognized as the father of Spanish literature, was born. We will stroll through the stone streets of this cute small town, also taking place in the UNESCO World Heritage List, seeing the archeology museum, ruins from Roman period, city walls from Arabic era, the house where Miguel de Cervantes was born, Cervantes Square, Corral de Comedias and Cathedral of Doctors. After this tour in the town we will have a coffee break and then head back to Madrid. This afternoon we will continue our tour in Madrid which will start in stunning Madrid Archeology Museum, hosting the most important artifacts of Spain including the first human steps in Iberia Peninsula and also Phoenician, Ancient Roman and Andalusian findings. Then our next stop will be Prado Museum: one of the most prestigious museums of the world, with approximately 35,000 pieces of work of very significant Spanish artists among which Velazquez, Zurbaran, El Greco, Goya, Murillo and world famous artists like Raffaello Tiziano, Rubens, Van Dyck. Our day full of museums will continue with Reina Sofia Museum. Reina Sofia Museum has been a house for works of artists like Miró, Salvador Dali and Francisco Bores who have been pioneer personalities of modernism. But most importantly this museum is hosting the unique masterpiece of Picasso: La Guernica. On the way to Segovia, we will stop for a visit at El Escorial Monastery which is in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In this summer resort of Spanish kings, which is also the first place where the The Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo took place, we will see the baroque Aranjuez Palace and the palace gardens. Then we will continue to our journey on the plains of Castilla La Mancha heading towards Belmonte Castle. This castle was built in 15th century in the middle of the steppes of Castilla with Mudejar architecture and it is a complete medieval castle. But before arriving there we will visit “White Village”; Mijas and “Romantic Capital” of Spain; Ronda. Cordoba used to be the capital of Muslims for 500 years in the Medieval Period. It was known as the capital of scholars, culture and Andalusian caliphate. Ibn Rushd (Averroes), Marmonides and many others worked and lived in this amazing medieval capital. You can still feel this matchless history on the streets of Cordoba. Also we will see the 2000 year-old Roman Bridge which remained from its Roman founders’ and the tower added by Muslims, Tower of Callahora. And the wonderful mosque, Mesquita-Catedral of Cordoba. After our visit in Cordoba, we will continue to Toledo: historical capital of the Kingdom of Castilla. Toledo, the town itself, is an open air museum which has been declared as a world heritage by UNESCO. We will start our trip in Toledo from San Martin Bridge, after we will pass by Jewish quarter and see old synagogues. We will see the United Nations Square, Boulevard Mohammed V, Habus Square and Hassan II Mosque. Its lazer lamp at the top of 200-metre high minaret notifies those at a distance up to 35 km who want to pray when the praying time comes. 4. Day: This morning we are heading to the capital Rabat. After a panoramic tour in the city, we will visit the Hasan II Tower, the tomb of Mohammed V and the square of Royal Palace. Then we are heading to Meknes. Day: We are taking the ferry today to head to Tarifa, Spain, passing through the Strait of Gibraltar, just like Tariq Bin Ziyad did 1300 years ago. After visiting this small fishing town we will drive to Seville, the capital of Andalusia. Here first we will visit Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de Espana. In this city, which is a gate for the Spanish Empire to the colonies, it is possible to see the traces of the richness provided from those colonies, in every corner you look. Then we will see the Santa Marta Cathedral from outside. This building is the third biggest gothic cathedral in the world and it contains the tomb of Christophe Colomb. Just next to this cathedral we will see the Giralda Minaret left from Andalusian Umayyad State. Then we will pass through Torre del Oro, Golden Tower, which is a marin museum today, and have an optional boat tour on the Guadalquivir River. Our last stop will be the “Gibsy Neighbourhood”.
