Consultant in Emergency Paediatric Medicine Emergency Paediatric Medicine at QA Hospital Our Vision We are looking to expand our team in line with the construction of a brand new Paediatric Emergency Department to ensure we provide world class care to the children and young people across Portsmouth and the wider Hampshire area. This expansion will include recruitment at not only consultant, but SHO and ACP level grades to ensure you are supported with a highly motivated and clinically diverse team. Our current team includes PEM specialists, dual trained consultants and those with a variety of specialist interests alongside both nurse consultants and fully qualified ACP’s. The paediatric emergency department works closely with both the wider paediatric and emergency departments to ensure that we provide the correct care for all our patients, whether that’s within our own Paediatric High Dependency Suite or within the Children’s Assessment Unit. PHU is one of the fastest growing trust’s in the country with beautiful countryside scenery, ocean walks and bustling cosmopolitan area’s all within reach. It is suitable to all

lifestyles. Also, due to it’s location in the heart of the south-coast it has excellent commuter links to both London and other cities across the south. Consultants and Locum Consultants The Public Health Agency is seeking to recruit 2x permanent Consultants and 2x temporary Locum Consultants to support work within the divisions of Service Development & Screening and Health Protection. The Public Health Directorate is one of three directorates within the Public Health Agency created through the Review of Public Administration. The other Directorates are Nursing and Allied Health Professions and Operations. Within the Public Health Directorate there are four divisions; health improvement, research and development, health protection and service development and screening. Each division is lead by an assistant director, with the exception of service development and screening which has an assistant director for screening and professional standards and an assistant director for service development, safety and quality. The successful applicant will report to the Financial Director and will be assigned to roles in either Project, Financial and/or Management Accounting Functions. Main responsibilities will include maintaining financial cost and contract assessment models, reporting in terms of actual and forecast income and expenditure, understanding of all budgets and contractual requirements and ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the Income Plan. Ideally the successful candidate will have: • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying/Law/Engineering/Economics/Business Administration • Demonstrable experience in FIDIC P&DB (‘Yellow Book’) and NEC3 contract administration • Proven track record of 5+ years in industry with main contractor/large subcontractor (£10M+ projects) • Demonstrable experience in preparing and administering CVR/cash flow forecasts/interim and final accounts/claims and variations • Highly competent in the Microsoft Office® suite (Word/Excel/Project/Access) • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work not only as part of a team but also and in unsupervised situations • Commercially astute and have a keen eye for detail • Heavy engineering experience (oil & gas, renewable energy, fabrication of large steel structures)

The successful applicant must be qualified to degree level as a minimum and should have the following: • An appropriate level of experience in the design and analysis of offshore or other heavy steel fabricated structures. • Knowledge and experience in application of hydrodynamic, environmental and seismic loading. • Experience in application of offshore and/or civil codes and standards. • Experience in applying computational analyses methods for the design of heavy steel structures. • Experience in using a proprietary 3D-finite element software package. • Experience in using a CAD and/or CAD/CAM system. • Experience in preparation of documentation packages for 3rd party verification and of the design approval process. • The application of HS&E requirements in the design process. • Experience with Quality systems and International Quality Standards requirements. • Preferably have professional membership of an appropriate engineering institution (e.g. IStructE, ICE or similar)

As part of this there will be protected non-clinical time to attend relevant teaching as well as a designated Middle Grade +/Consultant supervisor for the duration of the rotation. From a clinical perspective these posts will participate in the 24 hour Emergency Department/CAU/AMU rota with flexibility to accommodate individual personal requirements. The rotation is initially offered on a fixed term contract for 12-24 months. Depending on the wishes of the successful applicant this can then be extended, by mutual agreement, into a longer-term contract with three monthly secondments for each year in post. The post holder must be registered with GMC and hold a licence to practice at time of appointment.
