Nuyina Antarctic and Art Centre 2021 The design of the Nuyina Antarctic and Art Centre sits within the larger Macquarie Point redevelopment site in Hobart. The public precinct celebrates the journey through Tasmania’s capital and further abroad to Antarctica, through the exploration of art, culture, and research. Antarctic elements are brought to life throughout the precinct from live research, to exhibitions, an Aurora Australis inspired, illuminated walkway, and a snow simulation. With the chance for visual and physical interaction between human and built environment at every turn, an engaging and activated environment is created. Responding to the Macquarie Point Masterplan and Sullivans Cove Planning Scheme, the concept emerged. Following the Melbourne Design Guidelines for urban settings, there is a constant sense of safety and enjoyment. Materials of timber and steel are used to reflect ship materials of those who have ventured to the southern most continent over the years. The timber screens identify the building’s entry points, providing clear visual cues. This project has been created through a mixture of hand sketches, Rhino modelling and drafting, and Enscape rendering. Northern Site Axonometric

62 Hamilton St Interior Renovation 2021 The residence of 62 Hamilton St, Latrobe is a family home. With there now being a portion of the home, which is unused space, the residence is being renovated to provide a smaller family home and adjacent student style unit. While the two residences share a wall, there is no longer access directly between them, with an external entrance being installed. The single bedroom unit includes a bathroom/laundry and small kitchen and living space. Varied ceiling heights and existing window placements semi determined the layout. With the kitchen and living spaces being the most expansive in height to create an open and inviting space. Light materials of timber and white stone against the off-white walls allows the spaces to feel more open, although the square meterage is low. The large windows in the main living space and bedroom always cast the rooms in large levels of daylight, with the sunlight being more predominate in the living space of a morning, and the bedroom of the late afternoon and evening. These spaces create the perfect environment for study or small social events. After measuring up the space in person, the design came to be using rhino modelling and drafting, and then came to life through Enscape rendering. Perpective Floor Plan

Little Green St Backyard Addition 2020 A concept design for a granny flat style addition to the back yard of a family residence in Little Green St, Invermay. The additional home is to suit a single or couple who appreciate the small living aesthetics. The home is designed to separate the private spaces on the upper level, while having the lower level for living spaces that can be adapted for entertaining guests. With the slanting roof providing various thresholds of public and privacy. Incorporating a Pattern Language’s window seat, thick walls and outdoor room into the design, the building encourages living in its structure, not just within the spaces it creates. The design came from combining previous assignment iterations to create a unique structure. Through small model masses and drafting, the new design emerged. The final design was constructed on Rhino and as a physical model.

Parameteric Modelling Group Design 2021 From digital parametric modelling through the use of Grasshopper 3d coding and definitions, to a physical structure of the design. The process was completed as a group, with the model being designed and developed together to overcome obstacles and agree on the helix inspired design. Using scrap timber, the designing, cutting and constructing process had to carefully consider the materials, which in some cases were warped, rotting and splitting. The construction process had the added difficulty that the physical model’s structural integrity was designed for when it was horizontal, but had to be constructed in a vertical orientation. Cutting the timber into the correct sticks was completed via the CNC router with construction via hand drills and AR HoloLens. The model had been configured digitally to allow for individual piece selection to show through the AR HoloLens the placement of the physical sticks in real time.
Object Design Lamp 2018 The geometric design of the lamp is simple, with the lines extending upon one another. Contrasting materials of the timber frame around the globe, and the concrete stand, work together in complimentary fashion. The simplicity of the design allows for it to adapt to its surroundings. The design came from hand sketches and developed into a physical, working lamp from using various tools to cut and sand the hexagon frame, and creating a mould to set the concrete base.
Digital Illustrations Mixed media 2019 - 2021 A combination of programs and skills have been used to create a variety of digital illustrations. Using the Adobe Suite and iPad with an Apple Pencil to recreate a photo into a digital illustration that adds a level of emotion to the image that is lost in the still of a photograph. Combining the programs of Rhino and Grasshopper 3d, defining movements and lines, the creation of the spiral flower became. This design was developed to be a digital illustration before being converted into a physical drawing through the use of the CNC Router.
