NUMBER 4 ENGINE GENERATOR NOTE: Two people with communication established are required to perform these checks, one in flight station and one at the applicable engine generator. 1. Check generator bearing failure indication system if installed (see Figure 1): A. Connect and apply external power in accordance with card B-1. B. Open the GEN BRG FAILURE NO. 3 & 4 circuit breaker on the copilot’s side circuit breaker panel. C. Ground No. 4 generator terminal “W” to the nacelle or generator frame. D. Close the GEN BRG FAILURE NO. 3 & 4 circuit breaker on the copilot’s side circuit breaker panel. RESULT The No. 4 generator FAILED BRG indicator on the overhead electrical control panel should illuminate. E. Remove the ground from terminal “W”. RESULT The No. 4 Generator FAILED BRG indicator should remain illuminated. F. Open GEN BRG FAILURE NO. 3 & 4 circuit breaker. RESULT The No. 4 generator FAILED BRG indicator should extinguish. G. Close GEN BRG FAILURE NO. 3 & 4 circuit breaker. RESULT The No. 4 generator FAILED BRG indicator should remain extinguished. 2.

Check generator disconnect system if installed (see Figure 1): A. Apply 28 volts DC to the airplane essential DC bus. B. Close ESS DC BUS circuit breaker on the copilot’s lower circuit breaker panel. C. Close the ENGINE NO. 1, 2, 3, and 4 GEN DISCONNECT circuit breakers on the copilot’s side circuit breaker panel. D. Momentarily hold the GEN DISC. Test switch on the overhead electrical control panel in the test position. RESULT The four DISC. FIRED lights on the overhead electrical control panel shall illuminate. E. Release the GEN DISC. Test switch. RESULT The switch shall return to off and the four DISC. FIRED lights shall extinguish. F. Disconnect the wire from terminal F on the No. 4 generator disconnect. G. Place the GEN DISC. TEST switch to “TEST”, then release. RESULT The DISC. FIRED lights for the No. 1, 2, and 3 generators shall illuminate upon switch actuation and extinguish upon switch release. The No. 4 DISC. FIRED light shall not illuminate. H. Reconnect the wire to terminal F of the generator disconnect; place the GEN DISC. TEST switch to “TEST” and observe that the DISC. FIRED light for the No. 4 generator now illuminates. I. Open the ENGINE NO. 4 GEN DISCONNECT circuit breaker on the copilot’s side circuit breaker panel. J.

Using a jumper wire, ground terminal S of the No. 4 generator disconnect to the frame of the generator disconnect or engine nacelle. K. Close the ENGINE NO. 4 GEN DISCONNECT circuit breaker on the copilot’s side circuit breaker panel. L. 3.

RESULT The DISC. FIRED light for the No. 4 generator shall illuminate. Remove the jumper wire from terminal S of the No. 4 generator disconnect. RESULT The DISC. FIRED light for the No. 4 generator shall extinguish.
