Visual Design & UI Design

VISUAL DESIGN & UI DESIGN

Pani Global Year: 2022–PRESENT Role: Lead Visual Designer Skills Used: Visual Design, Illustration, Icon Design, UI Design Pani is a water treatment software company that wanted a new brand along with a fresh and modern site that showcased their advanced technology and commitment to a greener planet. I created illustrations, custom icons and diagrams for the entire site, and gave the site a clean look. I also designed a custom animation on the homepage to portray Pani working in real-time with a reverse osmosis train.

Lux Algo Year: 2022–PRESENT Role: Lead Visual Designer Skills Used: Visual Design, Art Direction Lux Algo, a vendor for premium trading tools on TradingView, wanted a luxury look and feel to their Webflow site. They grew to become the leader in the technical indicator space and needed a deluxe website to communicate that. With this in mind, I designed the site with a dynamic hero scroll animation for the homepage, a dark theme, and custom 3D assets.

Elexity Year: 2022 Role: Lead Visual Designer Skills Used: Visual Design, UI Design, Icon Design, Art Direction Elexity is an energy management software company that needed an up-to-date site that could position them well against the competition. I designed the look of the site, created stylized UI on the homepage to communicate the software’s benefits, and provided art direction for the 3D assets and animations.

VulcanForms Year: 2022 Role: Lead Visual Designer Skills Used: Visual Design, Icon Design VulcanForms offers 3D printing using additive manufacturing to produce parts at an industrial scale. They had a dated logo made in-house and a basic site, and needed a brand refresh along with an impressive new website that could fully showcase their capabilities. I designed the site to communicate strength and formidability, with a focus on the VulcanForms’ facilities and technology.

Sonatype Year: 2022–PRESENT Role: Visual Designer Skills Used: Visual Design, Illustration, Icon Design, UI Design Sonatype’s platform allows developers, application security, and legal & compliance teams to manage their software supply chain. As a part of the concepting phase, I illustrated a low-fidelity spaceship in a blueprint style for the client. I also designed stylized UI to showcase Sonatype’s product features.

Traction Rec Year: 2023–PRESENT Role: Lead Visual Designer Skills Used: Visual Design, Icon Design, UI Design Traction Rec is a CRM for non-profit community centers that is built on Salesforce. I created stylized UI to showcase the CRM’s features, designed custom iconography and refreshed the brand. This site is currently undergoing design and development.

Agya Ventures Year: 2022 Role: Lead Visual Designer Skills Used: Illustration Agya Ventures is a VC firm investing in real estate tech companies. I created this illustration as a concept for their site’s homepage.

Logo Design

LOGO DESIGN

Revoy Year: 2023–PRESENT Role: Visual Designer Skills Used: Visual Design, Branding, Logo Design Revoy is a company with an EV product that converts semi trucks into hybrid vehicles. They wanted a brand and logo that would connect them to their target audience of executives and truckers, and that would communicate the strength of their EV. I designed several logo concepts including one featuring an ox mascot.

MediaLab Year: 2021–2022 Role: Visual Designer Skills Used: Visual Design, Logo Design MediaLab, a holding company investing in global brands such as Genius and imgur, was interested in a logo re-design that didn’t stray too far from their current logo. I designed several concepts for them.

A little bit about me I’m a Canadian-Born Chinese multidisciplinary designer living in Victoria, BC with my partner and my 2 cats. My hobbies include avid weightlifting, casual gaming, and compulsive gardening.

My Design Philosophy

I absolutely love UI/UX design and branding! Although I’m not a savant, I look forward to what’s upand-coming and I’m always ready to learn something new.

I don’t believe that design speaks for itself. Design has to work and be practical just as much as it looks good. It requires that extra push to connect with an audience.

I welcome critiques and feedback because I know I can always do better. It’s a learning opportunity and knowledge is power!

My ultimate goal is to keep growing. I never want to become stagnant both as a designer and as a person.
