Bob Cox, Interim Superintendent July 2014 Dear Parents and Students, It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2014 – 2015 school year at Lawndale High School. I am honored to be the new Principal of Lawndale and I am eager to begin this school year. I look forward to a wonderful year together doing the right work and whatever it takes for our students to continue to reach their college and career goals, and for us to grow together as one unified Cardinal Family. I firmly believe that together we can achieve amazing things for our students, our school, and our community. Lawndale High School offers a positive and collaborative leadership of students, staff, parents, community members, and administrators. We empower students to contribute as members of a diverse and changing world by encouraging positive decision-making, individual responsibility, and community awareness. This upcoming year is full of fantastic opportunities to both engage and challenge our students. Here at Lawndale, we value hard work and commitment from the entire community; teachers, classified employees, students, administration, parents, families and community partners. Only together can we prepare our students for the challenges that lie ahead of them. I firmly believe that all students benefit through involvement in school life, therefore we place a strong emphasis on student participation in activities beyond the classroom. Whether in sports, clubs, or working on community projects, our students know the value of educating the whole person. I want to encourage everyone to get involved in school events and activities. Every student should be involved in at least one activity outside of the classroom; from academies to clubs to sports teams there really is something for everyone at Lawndale. Parents are strongly encouraged to consider attending our WASC Accreditation, School Site Council, Title I, or English Learner Advisory Council meetings. Having families involved helps all of our students. I am confident that this year will be exciting and rewarding. I look forward to it with great anticipation.

Go Cardinals,

Paula Hart Rodas Principal

¡Arriba Cardenales!
