PRO-LIFE IS AN EASTER CAUSE 

Let’s share and defend the new life that Christ gave mankind on Easter Sunday! Our Pro-Life Committee is a fine example of cooperation between English and Spanishspeaking youths, adults, and seniors, for the Gospel of Life through prayer, witness, charity, and advocacy. Find out more at the Committee’s next meeting this afternoon in the Rectory after the 11 a.m. Mass (or about 1 p.m.).

Bible Study in English Our English-language Bible study group, the Saint Jerome Society, invites you to dig into God’s written Word in the company of your fellow parishioners. Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 6:45 p.m. in the Rectory. Call Mr. Mike Lewis at 920-2705 for more information.

We expect students to bring on Saturdays until April 23 contributions to the Fundraising Drive that our program has held for the last several weeks for LIFE OPTIONS CENTER, the only local pro-life pregnancy assistance center in Yonkers. A pizza party will be sponsored for the most productive class and the names of the best three fundraising students of the program will be announced and published!

Nuestros estudantes han de presentar sus aportes cada sábado hasta el 23 de abril para nuestra campaña de recaudar fondos para la obra "LIFE OPTIONS CENTER", la unica obra local pro-vida para madres encinta con problemas. Se le premiará una fiesta de pizza al curso mas productivo con este proyecto y anunciaremos los nombres de los tres alumnos mas adeptos del programa acerca de la campaña.

Fun for Mother’s Day DINNER-DANCE, May 8 Here is a bright idea for our husbands, children, and grandchildren: take Mom and Grandma to the Mother’s Day Dinner-Dance sponsored by our Saint John Paul II Council of the Knights of Columbus! No need to make reservations elsewhere: get your tickets NOW from our Knights in time for the dinner-dance, which will start at 6 p.m. and end by 11 p.m. in the school auditorium. Tickets: $30 per adult, $15 per teen (12-17 years old), and FREE for children under 12 years of age. Cash bar (beer and wine) only for adults age 21 years and above.

A first anniversary: MASS OF THE EXTRAORDINARY FORM Fri., May 20, 7 p.m. SAVE THE DATE! In light of Pope Benedict XVI’s release of the Ancient Use of the Mass (1962 Roman Missal) for celebration in the parishes and communities of the Church and the Pope Emeritus’ hope that the Extraordinary Form (or Ancient Use) would enhance the celebration of the Ordinary Form of the Mass (the Mass that most Catholics know since 1969), our parish will host a “Missa Cantata” (sung Mass) of the Extraordinary Form on Friday, May 20 at 7 p.m. in the church. Rev. Fr. Sean Connolly, who offered Mass in the Extraordinary Form last summer, will return as the celebrant and our Parochial Administrator, Rev. Fr. Arthur F. Rojas, will serve as homilist. Come join us at this first anniversary of the first Mass of the Extraordinary Form offered in decades at our church. If you have never heard Mass in this fashion, come and see for yourself! We hope to have a social reception afterwards.

¡Viva la Virgen de Chapi! Comenzaremos el mes de mayo honrando en dos etapas a nuestra Madre Celestial, la Sma. Virgen María, bajo la advocación peruana de Nuestra Señora de Chapi, la patrona de Arequipa, la “ciudad blanca” y la segunda ciudad del Perú. El sábado, 14 de mayo, les invitamos a la santa Misa de 8,30h en el templo. El domingo, 15 de mayo, nos espera el aspecto gastrónómico en el auditorio escolar luego de la Misa de 11h.

MISA DE FORMA EXTRAORDINARIA viernes, 20 de mayo, 19h Un año despues de la primera Misa de Uso Antiguo en nuestra parroquia en decadas, brindaremos de nuevo a nuestros feligreses parte de la historia, la belleza y la riqueza de nuestro rito romano con la Misa de siglos en América Latina y del mundo. Experimentemos la Misa Antigua o Extraordinaria Cantada el 20 de mayo a las 19h. Si haya suficiente apoyo, esperamos auspiciar en futuro una MISA DE TRES MINISTROS (Misa Solemne).
