laire Euvanie Mattis was born to Agatha Cornwall and Sydney Mattis on December 4, 1952. Claire graduated from Spanish Town High School in St. Catherine, Jamaica and later attended the Fitz Hensley School of Business where she graduated with a certification in accounting. She was a devoted mother of five children. She loved and cherished her children and was a source of wisdom, heroism and grace for them all. She was unequivocally family centered and was revered by many who looked to her as a mother figure. Her friends and associates span many generations and she was a well loved and valued member of the community. Claire was a faithful and obedient servant of Christ and spent numerous years of her life in service to her church and doing God’s work within her community.

Left to cherish in her memory; 1 sister, Monica Gayle; 1 brother, Trevor Mattis; 4 sons, Delroy, Owen, Harold and Royston: 1 daughter, Beverley; 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews to whom she cherished and loved deeply. She will be sincerely missed by all.
