The Congress Lake Club was founded as a golf club and is as committed to the game as it was when Donald Ross was hired to rebuild the course in 1926. The Club employs a full-time, year-round Youth Social Director and offers a robust program of diverse activities for both girls and boys of all ages. • New for Summer of 2023, the Club will open a dedicated Youth Facility featuring child care opportunities permitting parents to enjoy club activities while their kids are kept active and entertained by the Youth Staff. • This Facility also provides indoor activities for tweens and teens. • A dedicated Youth Activities Director. • Summer-long athletic camps for golf and tennis. • An inclusive Swim Team competing with other area private clubs. • Resort-style games and activities poolside every Saturday and Sunday. Our professional staff is committed to personalizing every member dining experience and ensuring that it is exceptional. The Club prides itself on our American Culinary Federation Certified Executive Chef, Shawn Cline. Chef consistently delivers diverse menus to satisfy a multitude of palettes. From fresh seafood and steaks to casual fare and artisan pizzas, the countless choices will always delight and satisfy you. But what truly makes a dining experience here special is the Club’s commitment to personalized service that is warm, welcoming, efficient and professional. The newly re-designed restaurant and outdoor dining will be spectacular. The new design provides a dining atmosphere of relaxed elegance for members whether inside or outside. The comfort and camaraderie of the round bar in the Tavern is the meeting place of the Club, only surpassed by our expansive three season Patio with picturesque views of the Lake and overlooking expansive lakeside fire pits. The Club loves kids but understands the need for separation from adult only dining. Members with children have an all new dining area as well, and can also enjoy kid-tested and approved menus on the Patio or from the poolside kitchen. Congress Lake’s Ballroom and banquet facilities offer a luxurious and sophisticated venue for holding the perfect wedding, that special once-in-a-lifetime event, or any business or professional meeting. The experienced catering team will make sure that every request is fulfilled throughout the entire planning process and create a memorable and pleasurable experience.

Swimming at the Lakeside Pool What could be better than enjoying a first-class swimming pool overlooking the Lake during the middle of a hot summer? The Club’s 200,000-gallon, heat-controlled, U-shaped Pool features one of the area’s few remaining diving wells with two diving boards. • A Zero-Degree Entry perfect for young children and beginning swimmers. • Six regulation swim lanes providing the perfect environment for morning lap swimming and Club swim meets. • A friendly, but well-trained staff and Red Cross certified lifeguards. • The complex includes clean, safe, and newly remodeled air-conditioned Kid's Locker Rooms. • Shade umbrellas located around the Pool, comfortable chaise lounges, several dining tables for Poolside Bar and Ala Carte Menu service. • A new Poolside Bar with 10 stools overlooking the lake. • A full service dining menu along with self-service ordering. • Poolside servers providing menu and beverage service are available everyday and evening in the Summer. • Open every day during the summer from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Pool also stays open for our Late Night Swims once a month during the summer. Other traditional events each year include our Father’s Day Build-A-Boat Race, along with post-Swim Meet parties and the summer holiday events. • The Club’s swim team competes regularly with other nearby clubs, and our skilled swimming instructors provide group and private lessons for children of all ages.

The Lake The centerpiece of the Club is its member-owned 1.5-mile long, 200-acre spring-fed lake, one of the largest natural lakes in the state. Members enjoy kayaking, sailing, fishing, and pleasure boating plus spectacular views from the Clubhouse. Docks are provided for fishing boats, pontoon boats and kayaks. Outstanding fishing abounds year-round. The waters are naturally abundant with assorted game fish including largemouth bass, muskie, northern pike, blue gill, and white and black crappie. Some expert fishermen claim that “Congress Lake is the finest crappie lake in North America.” The Club also boasts 2 stocked trout ponds near the Club entrance for our youngest fishermen to enjoy. The Club’s oldest building, the 130-year-old Boathouse, provides fishing boats for rent, bait and tackle, fish cleaning facilities, and a comfortable place to sit and talk about the “one that got away.” The Club’s staff also maintains the Marina for member-owned boats, sells boat fuel, and provides winterization, cleaning, and storage services.

Racquet Sports Tennis and Pickleball Congress Lake provides members with top quality private racquet facilities and outstanding instructional opportunities. Play on two hard court surfaces and four seasonal clay courts - both our hard courts are lit using premium brightness to allow and encourage evening play! Our certified teaching Tennis Professional is available to develop competitive or casual skills for all ages and interest levels - men, women, and juniors can enroll in tennis instruction at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Platform Tennis Congress Lake boasts one of the few platform tennis facilities in the region. This fastpaced winter sport is the Club’s fastest growing activity. We offer two lighted courts and an attached Warming House with seating to warm up or cool down after a match. Winter tournaments, both competitive and casual, are offered throughout the fall and winter and are always accompanied by good food, your favorite beverages, and a great time.

A Rich History and Bright Future Originally founded as the Canton Outing Club in 1880, The Congress Lake Club Company was incorporated in 1896. The new club’s founders included Governor, (and soon to be President of the United States), William McKinley. The original nine holes were created by two-time winner of the Open Championship, Willie Park Jr. The course members enjoy today was created by another legendary Scotsman, Donald Ross. Ross built some of the greatest courses in the US including Pinehurst, Seminole, Inverness, and Oak Hill to name a few. The historic century-old Clubhouse was designed by famed architect Guy Tilden and overlooks the beautiful 200-acre glacial lake. The Congress Lake Club’s membership proudly respects and honors its great history, but the Club is certainly not bound by it. Congress Lake Club Membership Categories: A Regular Member shall be any member over 40 years of age or whose spouse is also over the age of 40. Regular Members enjoy all privileges, including unlimited golf privileges. A Young Executive Member shall be any member under 40 years of age and whose spouse is also under the age of 40. Young Executives Members enjoy all privileges, including unlimited golf privileges. Non-Resident Members must reside outside a 30-mile radius from the Club for more than nine (9) months in any calendar year, and neither spouse may own nor maintain a residence within the 30-mile radius. Social Members enjoy all Club privileges including six rounds of golf annually and full Practice Facility privileges National Members shall enjoy full Club privileges including unlimited Golf with no greens fees. A National member is any member who resides more than seventy five miles radius from the Congress Lake Club for more than nine months in any calendar year, and neither spouse owns nor maintains a residence within a seventy-five-mile radius from the Congress Lake Club. Congress Lake Club DOES NOT have a minimum spending requirement nor any service charge on Food & Beverage purchases

Congress Lake Club Refundable Stock Opportunity: The stock purchase price is $2,500. Stockholders receive a 7% dues discount, elect Club Directors, approve any dues increases or assessment, and approve any Bylaw changes. Stock is fully refundable upon member resignation from the Club.

Initiation Fee Payment Option: The initiation fee may be paid in two installments, 1/2 upon acceptance to membership and the remainder to be paid upon the first anniversiary of membership acceptance.
