Global Spread of Covid-19 WHO declared the outbreak of deadly disease, COVID 19 as global public health emergency on 30 January 2020 and pandemic on 11 March 2020

The Virus usually spreads from CLOSE PERSON TO-PERSON CONTACT through respiratory droplets from coughing and sneezing

Symptoms of COVID-19 Include:

Cough

Fever

Shortness of breath

The Virus may also spread through AIRBORNE TRANSMISSION, when tiny droplets remain in the air even after the iII person leaves the area

Avoid close contact

Cough or sneeze into tissue or flexed elbow

Stay home when you are sick

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands

Maintain social distancing

Study of COVID Ultimately it become uncontrollable and started to spread worldwide. Then WHO officially named this disease as COVID-19. Initially this virus was appeared in electron micrographs which was reminiscent of solar corona and are named in 1968. The word corona comes from Latin which means crown.

First it was reported in 2019, seafood market at Wuhan, China.

At this urgent situation, specific drugs have not developed since full mechanism of virus is not known. Due to exponential growth of this disease around world, it is necessary to develop awareness of maintaining social distance and hand hygiene.

Exponential growth in 2020 Spreads fast resulting increased number of infected patients globally. About 210 countries and territories across six WHO regions are seriously affected by this. caused by new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

COVID-19 has killed more than 315,000 people so far, with more than 4.7 million confirmed cases globally, as of 18 May March 11 - WHO calls it a pandemic The WHO makes the assessment that COVID-19 can be officially described as a pandemic due to the rapid increase in the number of cases outside China. President Donald Trump bans most visitors from continental Europe. Global stock markets fall further. January 14 - WHO warns of risk The WHO notes there may have been limited human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus and there is a risk of a possible wider outbreak. January 11 - first death reported The first death from the new coronavirus is reported by Chinese state media. They say that a 61-year-old man in Wuhan has died. He had underlying health conditions.

January 7 - novel coronavirus identified The disease is identified by Chinese authorities as a new type of coronavirus, novel coronavirus, or nCoV.

January 4 - cluster of cases The WHO reports on social media that there is a cluster of pneumonia cases – with no deaths – in Wuhan.

JANUARY 2020, January 1 - emergency footing The World Health Organization goes on to an emergency footing for dealing with a major disease outbreak. Huanan seafood market is shut down. 31 December - WHO informed China informs the World Health Organization (WHO) about a cluster of cases of pneumonia in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The virus is still not understood. 8 December - Wuhan’s first case The first patient in Wuhan City, China reports symptoms like a coronavirus infection. The case was identified based on a retrospective review. The disease is thought to have emerged in the Huanan seafood market although doubts are later cast on that theory
