Story Transcript
WELCOME Dear AASCA Volleyball Participants: Welcome to Lincoln School and the 2016 AASCA Invitational Volleyball tournament. It is a pleasure for Lincoln to be hosting one of the largest Volleyball tournaments in AASCA history with 17 schools, 29 combined boy’s and girl’s teams, and over 450 student and adult participants. Each year AASCA Athletic Director’s, Principals, and Heads of School review the previous years’ tournaments with the goal of identifying opportunities for improvement. Through experience and the hard work of many, AASCA has developed into a leading scholastic athletics and activities association and continues to lead the way in promoting the benefits of athletic competition and sportsmanship. In preparing for the event Lincoln School has done its best to follow all the AASCA recommendations and guidelines. In doing so it is our sincere hope that you enjoy a weekend of quality volleyball in a comfortable and safe playing environment. As evidenced from the recent AASCA Middle School Sportsmanship Festival, it is not always the team that wins the most awards the only winner. Sportsmanship should always be at the forefront of any AASCA event. In demonstrating a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie you will leave a winner regardless of the final score. Should you have any questions or are in need of assistance while on campus please do not hesitate to approach or ask any Lincoln School faculty or staff member. Play hard, play fair, respect others, and have fun. Best of luck to all.
Robert Rinaldo Director General
WELCOME Dear AASCA Athletes, Coaches, and Supporters:
It is with great excitement that I welcome all of you to the 2016 AASCA Unified Volleyball tournament. Lincoln School is honored to be the host for this wonderful event that will bring together 17 schools, 29 teams, and over 400 coaches & athletes from throughout Central America.
When teenagers participate in group competitions and activities, they learn skills that apply to opportunities both on and off the playing field. Through competition, teens establish a solid work ethic that values practice and rewards determination; enhance skills in selfreliance and team interaction; and develop new structures of self-motivation, discipline, and personal responsibility. Let’s not forget the social interaction that takes place as well. The opportunity to meet like-minded people from all over the world while playing a game that we love.
I look forward to seeing all of these wonderful traits and characteristics in practice throughout the weekend, in addition to watching an excellent level of volleyball. As I tell my own children…work hard, but make sure you have fun. Best of luck to everyone!
Victor Caban Athletic Director
