LEGACY 2008 PRESENTATION The Legacy Weekend is amazing. As witnessed by the people here tonight, the bonds of friendship established five, ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty years ago have endured, though the intervening years may have seen limited contact. We all laugh about our experiences — the bus trips, the rehearsals, the concerts, the socializing that followed. But at the core is the music. We pride ourselves as Brothers in Song. But we also must recognize that this exists because we had a wonderful musical experience while we were with the Singers. For this we must thank the people who were at the center of our musical experience in the Singers. The people who selected the repertoire, taught us the notes, shaped the music, and brought it to a beautiful conclusion in performance—our Directors.

The Singers have been blessed with six extremely talented Directors during the past five and a half decades. Dean Harold Gill Rueschlein and Herb Fiss are now with God, and I am certain that they are conducting the choirs of angels with great rigor. Adriene Torrisi is now Sister Adriene and is based in Santa Ana California. We are fortunate to have three of our Directors with us this evening Father Denis Wilde, Michael Luisi, and the current Director, Brian Meneely. To you all, we say thank you. Thank you for your patience, your wisdom, and your talent. Your tireless work has instilled in us a love of choral singing and has brought us to the point where we are Brothers in Song.
