HS80 Mechanical Suspension Introduction The HS80 Mechanical suspension is a slipper and eye design that offers an ideal solution for medium capacity trailers and machinery working in rough terrain or where a low running height is required. The cast steel construction insures a uniform, robust and high quality finish design, whilst the spring eye design insures the axle has a constant connection with the chassis at all times making it ideal for rough terrain applications. This suspension design allows for either Over-slung or Under-slung configuration using the same components. Options are available with various parabolic and multi-leaf spring options to suit multiple capacity and stability requirements.

HS80 Mechanical Suspension Service & maintenance

The following service & maintenance on HS80 suspension should be carried out after the first laden journey, and thereafter every 6 months or 300 hours in operation.  U-bolts should be tightened to the recommended torque setting outlined in the above table.  Lubrication should be applied to the grease points identified above on each side of the suspension assembly.  Ensure tightness and security of the nuts on Center hanger pins, Spring eye pins and spring retaining bolts. Yearly maintenance checks of the HS80 suspension is also required. The following procedure should be followed:  Visually inspect the condition of the springs by thoroughly cleaning them to check for any cracks or deformation.  Check the clearance between the equaliser bush and the center hanger pin, if excessive clearance is seen, replace the worn parts.  Inspect the spring eye pin for any deformation or wear and replace if there is excessive wear or deformation.  If clearance between the springs and the axles is visible, proceed to check the whole of the clamping system. Note:  
