Mechanical Suspension Introduction The YCU Mechanical suspension has been an industry standard bearer for more than 30 years, offering an ideal solution for heavy duty large capacity trailers and machinery with a low running height requirement and suitable to travel at high speeds. The cast steel construction insures a uniform, robust and high quality finish design, whilst the torque arm design offers support and axle alignment control suitable for high speed applications. In addition the torque arms are positioned above the spring and axle beam to maximise ground clearance. This suspension is an Under-slung configuration with various spring options to suit almost all capacity and stability requirements.

Hanger design allows for ride height 220mm~230mm with direct welding to chassis, with no need to recess chassis of add spacers. Torque arm position offers maximum ground clearance. Low maintenance, no requirement for lubrication. High density poly torque arm bushes (red bushes) for longer life. Grade 10.9 U-Bolts & Nuts for additional strength. Saddle & Clamp plates suitable for use with Ho’s Unite commercial axle range. Torque arm position offers maximum ground clearance

Mechanical Suspension Torque settings

Service & maintenance •

Service & maintenance on YCU suspension should be carried out after the first laden journey, and thereafter every 6 months or 300 hours in operation.

•

U-bolts & bolts should be tightened to the recommended torque setting outlined in the above table.

•

When tightening torque arm and center hanger bolts with taper bushes, insure the torque arm or equaliser is centrally located and not contacting the hanger.

•

Check clearance and wear of taper bushes in center hanger and torque arm assemblies.

•

Yearly visual inspection of spring, hangers, Saddles and clamp plates; throughly clean and inspect for cracks and deformation.

•

Under harsh or intensive operating conditions, maintenance should be carried out more frequently.

•
