PROGRAMME BRIEF: CITY LIBRARY, AT BARAMATI

Preamble: Baramati is a city and a municipal council in Pune district in the state of Maharashtra, India. It belongs to Paschim Maharashtra region and Pune Division. Surrounding areas mostly depend on agriculture as the main source of income. The land in the region is very well irrigated because of Nira Canal irrigation from Veer Dam. Nira River and Karha River also provide direct irrigation water to farms. It has created a niche for itself in the field of education. Last decade has seen growth of Baramati as a Prominent Education Center with Colleges and Schools ranging from Engineering to Biotechnology to Law and Medical college. Surrounded area has three major places which have become well known education centers. Vidya Pratishthan, Vidyanagari and Tuljaram Chaturchand College. Industrial areas (MIDC), Jejuri, Bhigvan & Kurkumbh near city are developing fast & needs skilled manpower. This institute can fulfill the requirements of skilled manpower of local establishments and boost the education and learning urge of the population. Libraries, house centuries of learning and information required to encourage the growth. They also content history, truth, and are important defenders in the fight against misinformation. By providing free access to educational, news, and historical resources, libraries help keep the public informed with facts, rather than confused with fiction. Libraries also provide immigrants with helpful information about, and opportunities to connect with, their new communities. Not only are libraries gateways to the community, they provide a place where new immigrants and their families can connect with resources, learn new skills, and meet new people. Public libraries play an essential role in providing safe, accessible, and 100% free educational resource centers for every member in communities across the country. At a library, every resource there is valuable, including books, internet access, and educational and professional training programs. Individuals and families, no matter their socio-economic status, can count on their libraries to provide them with the resources they need to succeed and the answers to important questions they can't otherwise find. One of the things that makes the country grow more are libraries, they play a key role in that development. When you think of a library, you probably don't think of it as a center for health and wellbeing, but in many cases, it is exactly that. Through their community programs, direct librarian assistance, and basic internet access, libraries provide important equal access opportunities to those seeking health information and services. Students are expected to design a city library in Baramati, which more like a community center, town hall, can connect their communities in a way that benefits everyone. They should pool local resources from educational offerings to job training and put them all under one welcoming roof for everyone to share. The Ambiance can be informal guiding population to relate with the environment and get well acquainted with the knowledge gaining process.
