DESIGN CONSIDERATION – All buildings blocks to be considered non-existing except the recently renovated block The vehicular access must be retained on the site The new buildings shall be located within the zone classified for new construction and the orientation shall depend upon the design of integration with the existing open spaces.
Site Area – 8.4 acres (34000 sqm.) Built up area – 7000 sqm.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION – The koti women's college served as a British residency till independence and was handed over for use as women's after independence. The college is now going to be upgraded to a university and the physical infrastructure needs to upgraded accordingly. It is proposed that student housing to be designed in the north eastern corner of the site The new buildings shall be located with the zone classified for new construction and the orientation shall be dependent on the design of integration with the existing open spaces The circulation network with in the site has more or less retained the original alignments and shall be designated for public access, regulated access and restricted movements The vehicular access a hall be restricted as per the master plan and the pedestrianized streets shall maintain the original character and existing built alignments The new modern vocabulary unsuitable for the site includes solid exterior walls punctuated with monotonous rectangular widows, projected chajja overhangs and overhead water tanks visually projecting on the roof levels the transition from interior to exterior or vice versa shall be more gradual with semi open verandas, colonnaded corridors and green covers determined on the basis of guidelines for planting and landscaping

PROJECT DESCRIPTION – Large span roof are today widely applied for sport, social, industrial, ecological and other activities The experience collect in the last decades identify structural typologies as space structures, cable structures, membrane structures and new-under tension-efficient materials whose combination deals with light weight structural systems, as a state of art large span structural design In order to increase the reliability assessment of wide span structural systems a knowledge based synthetic conceptual design approach is recommended Theoretical and experimental in scale analysis, combined with a monitoring control of the subsequent performance of the structural system, can calibrate mathematical modeling and evaluate long term sufficiency of design

SITE CONTEXT – The site is located in an area of considerable regional importance and sensitivity as well as one that contains diverse architectural styles. The site is located in an hilly area and is surrounded with various spaces like regional science center and Bharati Vidhya bhavan school along with a sewage treatment plant beside it which can be considered as major drawback of site.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION – JAWAHARLAL NEHRU ARCHITECTURE AND FINE ARTS UNIVERSITY is proposing to build a new campus in Tirupati. The university is running several programs in the domains of fine arts, architecture, planning and building sciences.

The aim is to design a state-of-art modern campus in order to accommodate all the building facilities for the said programs.

8 The campus of a design school should leave a lasting impression on its students and help them shape design ideologies a college campus is not only a transition between adolescence and adulthood for the students but also a place where people of diverse background and attitudes come together for an intense period of study and communication building a society that is transitory and lasting.
