HISTORY AND PURPOSE I came to the United States, in 1995 from my country Colombia in South America. I decided to accept the culture, the customs and laws of the USA but without forgetting our roots, especially in regard to Latin American cuisine. (I start thinking in the pleasant taste of ours food from the different regions and also thinking in my spiritual connection with ours cooks of yesteryear). Then I decided to mix these ingredients quietly creating a magical fusion with a very special ingredient, the great love I add to the food when I cook. With this magical fusion I created the different recipes that were later incorporated into my menu of international cuisine. Through all these years of experience in the caterer services working in the Washington metropolitan area I felt the need to leave a legacy to my family. After many meetings with Fernanda and Angela my two daughters. We agree to incorporate the business that I had at that moment, and also became with the name THE WOODEN SPOON, LLC (La Cuchara de Palo), In July 2007 our great project of love was a reality. A Caterer Company Created by Latinas to give job opportunities to Latinas head of household. Our purpose is to provide to our customers an unforgettable experience enjoying our food and enjoy our services.

HISTORIA Y PROPOSITO Cuando llegué a Estados Unidos en el año 1995 procedente de mi país Colombia decidí aceptar toda la cultura, las costumbres y la leyes de USA pero sin olvidarme de nuestras raíces y sobre todo en lo referente a la gastronomía latinoamericana (pensando en su sabor tan agradable a mi paladar; en la sazón de las diferentes regiones y en mi conexión espiritual con nuestras cocineras de antaño). Entonces decidí mezclar discretamente estos ingredientes creando una fusión mágica con un ingrediente muy especial; el ingrediente principal; el gran amor que siento al cocinar. Fue así como cree las diferentes recetas que después fueron incorporadas a mi menú de comida internacional. A través de toda la experiencia adquirida en el negocio de Banquetes en estos años de trabajar en el área metropolitana de Washington sentí la necesidad de dejar un legado para mi familia. Después de muchas reuniones familiares con mis hijas Fernanda y Ángela en Julio del 2007 nació nuestro gran proyecto de amor THE WOODEN SPOON, LLC La cuchara de Palo. Empresa de Banquetes Creada por mujeres Latinas para dar oportunidad de trabajo a mujeres latinas cabeza de familia. Nuestro Propósito es el de brindar a los clientes una experiencia inolvidable degustando nuestra comida y disfrutando de nuestros servicios.

ESTACION DE CAFÉ Adicionalmente podemos para cualquier tipo de propuesta adicionar una mesa con un servicio completo de café, te, galletitas, sodas y agua.

BAR ABIERTO También podemos ofrecerles el servicio de bar abierto con diferentes tipos de licores o mas sencillo con vinos y cervezas incluiremos para este servicio los diferentes tipos de copas, vasos y demás utensilios del bar. Pueden solicitar una carta de licores.

PERSONAL CALIFICADO Nuestro personal es calificado y de excelente presentación de acuerdo con la ocasión. Podemos ofrecerles Meseros, ayudantes, cocineros, Bar tender. Coordinados por un Capitán preparado para la logística de cada evento. El precio de este servicio se cobra por hora según el horario del evento y agregamos una o dos horas (al entrar para preparar la fiesta y otra al salir para limpiar y recoger) Consideramos 1 mesero y 1 ayudante por cada 40 invitados.
