Our Mission The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is to provide positive opportunities for youth to learn and succeed.

Summer Camp Registration F Registration for the Summer Camp program begins April 15 F To register, visit Boys & Girls Club Maxwell Clubhouse located in Maxwell Farms Regional Park at 100 West Verano Avenue. F Membership office is open Monday-Friday 9:30am - 6:00pm. F All campers must be current registered Club members. To secure a spot in camp and on the field trip register early. ALL registration & payment is due 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP.

A Membership at the Boys & Girls Club allows a child to attend the Maxwell Clubhouse Monday-Friday from 1:00pm - 7:00pm at no additional charge. Membership also allows a child to register for day camp and athletic leagues at the Maxwell Clubhouse (additional fees apply).

Enrollment Forms Membership applications and summer camp registrations forms can be downloaded from our website bgcsonoma.org or picked up at the Maxwell Clubhouse at 100 West Verano Avenue. ALL registrations takes place at Maxwell Clubhouse. There is not an option to register online at this time.

Payment & Financial Aid The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley believes that no one should be denied participation for financial reasons. The Club offers scholarships and payment plans to individuals and families whose financial circumstances would prevent them from participating in Boys & Girls Club programs. Please ask for more details and a confidential application.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up A valid membership card must be presented at the front desk when arriving and departing the Clubhouse. ALL members age 12 and under must be signed out by an authorized adult listed on their membership application. Staff will request identification from adults they do not recognize. Staff will not allow children 12 and under to sign themselves out of the Clubhouse unless accompanied by an adult.

Breakfast & Lunch Served Daily In partnership with the Redwood Empire Food Bank, the Boys & Girls Club works hard to ensure that all children receive the nourishment they need to succeed. Each summer, Redwood Empire Food Bank provides free breakfast & lunch to children who participate in summer programs at the Boys & Girls Club at no additional charge. Lunch is served Monday - Friday beginning at 12:30 for morning camp participants and at 1:00pm for Club Members arriving for afternoon programs.

Aloha! We are celebrating the summer Hawaiian style. Campers will participate in water and land games, make fun beach scene crafts, and learn water science. So put on your favorite Hawaiian shirt and get ready for some fun in the sun! Special event TBD.

Are you ready to go on a mission to outer space? Let’s blast off with rockets, shooting stars, spaceships, space foods and more! Take a spaceship to fun in outer space! This week will conclude with a field trip to the Aerospace Museum of California, leaving at 8:00am and returning to the Club by 2:00pm

Celebrate our country’s birthday as we take part in patriotic arts and crafts. Learn about the Founding Fathers and the origins of our country. Sing and dance to old time favorite tunes. Take part in making and eating patriotic popcorn. Happy Birthday America! Join us for a week of fun filled Xtreme challenges where you could be one of the Xtreme campers of the week. Campers will team up and learn to work together to complete different Xtreme challenges. How Xtreme are you? Field Trip tbd.

Campers learn how to design their own race car and participate in team or individual racing games. Campers learn work as a team, push their creative skills, and their imaginations. Be the first to cross the finish line by creating a dream car using recyclable materials. Camp includes a visit to Sonoma Raceway. Are you ready to get wet? Take a break from the summer heat! Join us for wacky and wild water games all week long. So bring your towel because we will have some fun with water. Activities include water balloon games, water relays, learn about different phases of water, discover the water cycle and many other things involving water. Jr Engineers combines math, science, and technology into a camp full of fun construction challenges. Members will use ingenuity and creativity to build towers, create circuits, and participate in fun activities that will challenge them to think.

Session 3 “Into the Abyss”June 30 - July 3 Grades 1-3

The ocean is a vast landscape that is largely unexplored. It is home to strange creatures, and beautiful landscapes, and Marine Biology is the study of the creatures that inhabit the world’s waters. In this session, members will be introduced to some of the strange and fantastic animals that live in the ocean, and take a trip to observe tide pool creatures.

Our universe is an exciting place. Join us for Astronomy Camp as we explore the planets that share our solar system, the mysterious and beautiful objects in deep space, and awe-inspiring eclipses and meteor showers.

Let’s use the Scientific Method to test myths, adages, and urban legends. We will investigate food myths (5 second rule, anyone?) and come up with our own list of things we have always wondered, and find scientific ways to investigate them.

Session 7 “Weird Science” July 28 - Aug. 1 Grades 1-3 Put on a lab coat and get ready to experiment! Weird Science is all about investigation, experimentation, and inventing with hands-on activities that are fun and educational. We cover the foundations of scientific experimentation and literacy while entertaining budding scientists with amazing chemical reactions, strange concoctions, and mixing, testing, and discovering.

It’s the Wacky Olympics! Instead of running track or swimming laps, we’ll be racing through a zany obstacle course, tossing Frisbees and water balloons instead of a discus, getting messy in a whipped cream pie eating contest, and so much more in this very silly, messy and fun camp! This week will conclude with a field trip or special event TBD.

Welcome to Grossology, the science of really gross things. As Grossologists, your job is to discover the science behind some of the most disgusting things! This week, you will investigate a variety of really “gross” science related topics including: decomposition, bugs, and a variety of sickening facts about the human body. Hope you have a strong stomach!

Welcome to Camp, Agent. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will include cracking codes, dusting for fingerprints, and investigating a crime. Report for duty for this action packed camp. Do you have what it takes?

We’re going around the world in 5 days! Well, okay, not really, but this week will be all about different cultures and people from all over the world! Campers will play games from around the globe like Le Lotto (Italy) and The Seven Clever Pieces (China) We will also be connecting with our Sister Cities. So get your passport ready as we travel around the globe. Field trip TBD

This week, campers will use the force to explore the power of magnets and electricity! In a very safe environment, campers will work collaboratively in small groups to explore the properties of magnetism, learn about build circuits and batteries, and use a variety of materials to invent some electricity-powered projects.

Volleyball (Co-ed)

Volleyball is one of the most fun and exciting team sports. Delivered in an appealing and engaging way, this co-ed camp helps each athlete develop the fundamental skills of the game through gamespeed drills and scrimmages. This camp is aimed at developing the whole player. Participants will have a great time as they learn new skills and make new friends.

Soccer Camp is a great place for any soccer enthusiast who is looking to improve their skills, work hard, make new friends and have fun! In Extreme Sports Camp, kids will have the opportunity to try out many different types of sports. Flag Football Camp offers a complete package of skills and drills that teaches young athletes to enjoy this fast paced game. Get ready for summer by having a fun-week of baseball. This camp will balance teaching skills and fundamentals with games, contests and fun. Participants in the Climbing program will learn basic climbing techniques and safety. Boys & Girls Club staff will handle the equipment so that participants can focus on climbing. All participants are coached based on their climbing experience. Rock climbing improves mental focus, flexibility, and strength. The week will be complete with a field trip to Vertex Climbing Center (Santa Rosa). Climbing shoes and harnesses will be provided.

Engineering w ith L E G O Robotics

Join us for a week of visual creativity in The Intel Computer Clubhouse Photography Adventure. During the course of this program, club-goers will learn basic photography skills while practicing in exciting locations allowing their creativity to flow. Not only will members be exposed to fundamentals necessary to advance in the art of photography, they will also learn basic photo editing techniques using Adobe Photoshop. While in the process of experiencing vital instruction, members will be given many opportunities to practice these skills through creative projects. They will also be given the opportunity to join us on two or more fieldtrips to aid in fostering their creative spirits. No matter what the level of experience, all campers will be provided the chance to expand on their knowledge and, in the case of more advanced attendees, create or enhance their portfolio of work.

$110 per week Grades 5-8 9:00am-1:00pm Create, Play and Learn. Robotics Camp introduces young people to the fun and excitement of science and technology while building knowledge and self-confidence. Participants will learn how to build and program different types of robots using LEGO NXT robotics kits. Our instructors will help them develop brainstorming and problem solving skills while discovering how to creatively use programming, sensors and robot attachments.

AN IM ATIO N $110 per week Grades 5-8 9:00am-1:00pm Dive into the wonderful world of animation as we use various styles, software and photography to create short animated films. We’ll use the computers to create awesome stick figures with “Stykz.” From there we’ll use paper cutouts, pipe cleaner models, everyday objects and even some clay to make fun and entertaining animation with still and video cameras. It doesn’t matter if you can draw! Everyone can use the techniques and software in this workshop.

Daily Outlook 9:00am - 1:00pm Welcome to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley Summer Camp Program! We look forward to spending time with your child and hope your child’s camp experience is fun and memorable. Campers will spend time both indoors and outdoors. It is important that Campers come to camp prepared for an active day and time in the sun. Please have your child wear closed toe shoes and apply sunscreen before arriving to camp.

CAMP HOURS F Day Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Day Camp is a structured program with camp activities beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 1:00 p.m. Please help your child be on time to fully gain all our program has to offer. F Members are welcome to remain for Open Club after the Day Camp ends at 1:00 p.m. for an afternoon filled with fun and activities. F The Club closes daily at 7:00 p.m. The late pick up fee $1 per minute will be strictly enforced through the summer.

FIELD TRIPS

Many of our camps include a field trip. Permission slips for field trips are signed when you register. It is important for your child to be on time. If your child is late for a camp field trip and the field trip has already departed, your child may not attend until Open Club at 1:00pm. All campers will receive one t-shirt when registering for camp. Additional t-shirts can be purchased in the Office for $8 * ALL DAY CAMPERS MUST WEAR THE CLUB SHIRTS ON FIELD TRIP DAYS. Below is an example of the Summer Day Camp program schedule. Specialty Camps will follow a similar schedule with activities specific to the camp specialty.

No fee for Members 1:00pm-7:00pm Welcome to the Maxwell Clubhouse Summer Open Club Program! Open Club starts at 1:00pm each day. We offer free lunch from 1:00pm to 1:15pm. Programs are both indoors and outdoors. We recommend that your child comes prepared for an active day and time in the sun: clothes that are comfortable, closed toe shoes that your child can be active in, a water bottle, a backpack for belongings, and a healthy snack. Please apply sunscreen before coming to The Club. Staff can provide sunscreen but may not apply it. Members may ask a friend for help. Art In the process of making art, a child is presented with possibility, discovery, and freedom. Summertime provides the perfect opportunity for Club Members of all ages to explore their creativity through crafts, painting, pastels, sculpture, and pottery.

Climbing Club Club Members in grades 1-5 will have an opportunity to join the BGCSV Junior Climbing Club. The club climbs once a week with an instructor and has occasional opportunities to visit other climbing facilities. All climbing abilities welcome.

Senior Climbing Club

Club Members in middle and high school have an opportunity to join the BGCSV Senior Climbing Club. The Club climbs once a week with an instructor and has occasional opportunities to visit other climbing facilities. All climbing abilities welcome.

Discovery Room The Discovery Room is specially designed for 6 to 8 year old Club Members. From theater arts to science, our young Club Members have a variety of fun activities to participate in that will keep them learning through the summer.

Gardening and Environmental Education Our garden is complete with garden beds and a greenhouse. Members tend to the herbs, flowers, and vegetables and use them as ingredients in the kitchen.

Afternoon “ O pen Club ” Programs

Sports, Fitness & Recreation There’s always something fun happening in the gym. New games are introduced each week with an emphasis on inclusion and sportsmanship.Sports provide a positive learning experience that enhances your child’s ability to develop self-confidence, good sportsmanship, and teamwork skills.Sports also teach us that we can work hard and have fun at the same time.

Torch Club When young people feel good about themselves, they operate more effectively and productively in our communities, families and schools.Torch Club is a leadership program that teaches middle school members the importance of trust, making positive choices, supportive social interaction, and personal challenge while creating valuable life long memories.

Summer Learning Our Learning Center becomes our Summer Technology Lab for grades 1-5. Using our After School Education & Safety iMacs, Club members have the opportunity to build their math and reading skills with computer based academic programs such as Khan Academy and Accelerated Reader. Khan Academy is an internet based interactive math program. Please see https://www.khanacademy.org for more information.

Cooking & Nutrition Teaching children how to find and cook healthy foods is one way to make good nutrition more interesting for them. It is always fun to learn new things and kids love to help in the kitchen. Members of all ages will have opportunities to learn basic cooking skills.

To succeed in school and life, children and young adults need ongoing opportunities to learn and practice essential skills. Did You Know? F F F

All young people experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer. Research spanning 100 years shows that students typically score lower on standardized tests at the end of summer vacation than they do on the same tests at the beginning of the summer. Most students lose about two months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months. Parents consistently cite summer as the most difficult time to ensure that their children have productive activities.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is committed to providing quality out-of-school experiences for youth in our community. Our programs are designed to engage, challenge, and excite Members. Our staff team is dedicated to providing quality learning experiences throughout the Club day; from day camps and specialty camps, all the way through to the afternoon Open Camp programming. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley integrates various approaches to infuse each Club experience with learning. In Cooking Camp, members are practicing reading and comprehension skills; Lego Robotics addresses math and computing skills; creating skits and songs encourages members to build on creative writing and interpersonal skills; and Science Camps encourage members to look at the world inquisitively and see how science is a part of our daily lives. The Boys & Girls Club is able to provide all of this under one roof! Studies have shown that children’s participation in quality summer programming reaps the following benefits:

Inscripciones para los Campamentos de Verano comienzan Abril 15 Para inscribirse, visite Boys & Girls Club Maxwell Clubhouse ubicada en el parque Regional Maxwell Farms en 100 W. Verano Avenue. Estas listo para ir a una misión al espacio? Vamos a despegar con cohetes, estrellas fugaces, naves espaciales, alimentos espaciales y más! Toma una nave espacial a la diversión! Esta semana es seguro que se llena de súper diversión espacial! Esta semana concluirá con una visita al Museo Aeroespacial de California, nos iremos a las 8:00am y regresaremos a Club a las 2:00pm.

Bienvenido a Asquerosologia, la ciencia de las cosas realmente asquerosas. Como Asquerosologistas, su trabajo es descubrir la ciencia detrás de algunos de lo más repugnantes. Esta semana vas a investigar una variedad de cosas realmente asquerosas incluyendo; descomposición, los insectos, y una variedad de hechos escalofriantes sobre el cuerpo humano. Espero que tengan un estomago fuerte!

Aloha! Estamos celebrando al estilo hawaiano. Los campistas participaran en juegos de agua y tierra, hacer divertidas escenas de la playa, y aprender la ciencia del agua. Así que ponte tu camisa hawaiana favorito y prepárate para la diversión en el sol! Se determinara evento especial.

Ven a celebrar el cumpleaños de nuestro país, ya que participamos en arte y artesanías. Recuerde como nuestro país surgió. Vamos a cantar y bailar a muchos de nuestros temas favoritos de los viejos tiempos. Tomar parte en el Desfile de 4 de Julio de Sonoma. Feliz Cumpleaños América!

Sesión 4 “Desafío Extremo” Julio 7 - Julio 11

Ven y únete a nosotros para una semana lleno de diversión de desafíos extremos donde podrías ser uno de los campistas Extremos de la semana. Los campistas se pondrán en equipos donde aprenderán a trabajar juntos para completar diferentes desafíos extremos. Que tan extremos eres? Se determina paseo.

Sesión 5 “Necesidad de Velocidad!” Julio 14 - Julio 18

Los campistas aprenden como diseñar su propio coche de carreras y participan en carreras en equipos o individualmente. Los campistas aprenden sobre el trabajo en equipo, empuja sus habilidades creativas e imaginación. Se el primero en cruzar la línea final creando el coche de sus sueños utilizando materiales reciclables. El campamento incluye una visita a Sonoma Raceway.

Sesión 6 “Splash & Dash” Julio 21 - Julio 25

Estas preparado para mojarse? Tomate un descanso del calor del verano! Acompáñanos en juegos alocados de agua toda la semana. Así que traiga su toalla porque nos divertiremos con agua. Las actividades incluyen juegos de globos de agua, relés de agua, aprender acerca de las diferentes fases del agua, descubrir el ciclo del agua y muchas cosas más relacionadas con el agua. Se empapará con DIVERSION!! Se determinara evento especial.

Sesión 7 “Globalizarse” Julio 28 - Agosto 1

Iremos por todo el mundo en 5 días! Bueno, está bien, no realmente, pero esta semana los campistas aprenderán las culturas de otras naciones y prepárate para las culturas de otras naciones y prepárate para la diversión mientras descubres lo mucho que tienes en común con niños de todo el mundo. Los campistas jugaran juegos de de todo el mundo como Le Loto (Italia) y The Seven Clever Pieces (China). También estaremos conectando con nuestras Ciudades Hermanas. Así que prepara tu pasaporte mientras viajamos por todo el mundo. Se determinara el paseo especial.

Sesión 8 “Olimpiada Rara” Agosto 4 - Agosto 8

Son los Juegos Olímpicos Raros! En lugar de correr o natación, estarán compitiendo a través de una carrera de obstáculos, aventando discos voladores y globos de agua, ensuciándose en concursos comiendo pie de whipping cream y mucho más en este sucio y divertido campamento! Se determinara evento especial. .

Ingenieros Jr. combina matemáticas, ciencia y tecnología en un campamento lleno de desafíos divertidos. Los miembros usaran ingeniosidad y creatividad para construir torres, crear circuitos, y participar en actividades divertidas que los pondrán a pensar.

Vamos a usar el método científico para probar mitos, adagios, y leyendas urbanas. Vamos a investigar los mitos de comida (regla de 5 segundos?) y elaborar nuestra propia lista de las cosas que siempre hemos preguntado, y encontrar formar científicas para investigarlas.

Sesión 6 “Agento Secreto” Julio 21 - Julio 25 Grados 3-5

Bienvenido a Campamento, Agente. Su misión, si decide aceptarla, incluirá descifrar códigos, quitar el polvo para las huellas, y la investigación de un delito. Reporte al deber en este campamento lleno de acción. Tienes lo que se necesita?

Sesión 7 “Ciencia Rara” Julio 28-Agosto 1 Grados 1-3

Pónganse su bata de laboratorio y prepárate para experimentar! Club de Ciencia se trata de investigar, experimentar e inventar con actividades que son divertidas y educativas. Club de Ciencia es un programa que cubre los fundamentos de la experimentación científica y la alfabetización mientras que entretiene los científicos con sorprendentes reacciones químicos, mezclas extraños, pruebas y descubriendo.

Sesión 8 “Esta Vivo – Electricidad!” Agosto 4-Agosto 8 Grados 3-5

Esta semana, los campistas utilizaran la fuerza para explorar el poder de los imanes y la electricidad! En un ambiente muy seguro, los campistas trabajaran en grupos pequeños para explorar las propiedades del magnetismo, aprender acerca de los circuitos de generación y las baterías, y el uso de una variedad de materiales para inventar algunos proyectos de electricidad.

Voleibol (Co-ed.)

El voleibol es uno de los deportes más emocionantes. Entregado de una manera atractiva e interesante, este campamento ayuda a cada atleta a desarrollar las capacidades fundamentales del juego a través de ejercicios de velocidad y practica. Este campamento se dirige a desarrollar al jugador. Los participantes se divertirán mientras aprenden nuevas habilidades y hacen nuevos amigos.

Sesion 1 Junio 16 - Junio 20 Grados 3-6 Futbol (Co-ed)

El campamento de futbol ofrece un paquete completo de habilidades y ejercicios que enseñan a los atletas jóvenes a disfrutar de este juego de ritmo rápido. El campamento introduce las habilidades de dribbling, pases, y de portero; todo se presenta en un ambiente divertido. Los participantes deben usar ropa adecuada; zapatos sin taquetes de metal. Se proporcionarán espinilla.

Sesion 2 Junio 23 - Junio 27 `Grados 1-3 Sesion 4 Julio 7 - Julio 11 Grados 1-3 Flag Football (Co-ed)

El campamento de flag football ofrece un paquete completo de habilidades y ejercicios que les enseña a los atletas jóvenes a disfrutar de este juego de ritmo rapido. El campamento introduce las habilidades de pasar, atrapar, y todo presentado en un ambiente divertido. Los participantes deben usar ropa adecuada; zapatos sin taquetes de metal. Proporcionarán los protectores de boca.

En el campamento de deportes extremos los niños tendrán la oportunidad de probar diferentes tipos de deportes. Desde el Ultimate Frisbee, lacrosse, y hockey de campo, los niños podrán participar en varios juegos divertidos que serán nuevas para ellos, así como jugar algunos juegos clásicos con un toque. Este campamento de alta energía y de ritmo rápido es seguro que será muy divertido.

Acompáñenos para una semana divertida de basquetbol. A través de juegos divertidos, los jóvenes atletas tendrán la oportunidad de hacer amigos y divertirse. Aprenderán habilidades de correr, pasar y tirar la pelota de basquetbol, así también el conocimiento del juego y las reglas.

Prepárate para el verano para una semana divertida de beisbol. Este campamento va a equilibrar las habilidades de enseñanza y fundamentos de juego, concursos y mucha diversión. Los conocimientos básicos de atrapar, lanzar y batear la pelota se enseñara a lo largo de la semana de campamento. El campamento está diseñado para ayudar a cada participante mejorar como jugador

Edades Varean en cada session. Máximo de 15 Participantes por Sesión Vuela a nuevas alturas! Experimente la alegría de escalar. Participantes en el programa aprenderán técnicas básicas y seguridad. El personal del Club manejará el equipo para que los participantes puedan concentrarse en subir. Todos los participantes son entrenados en base a su experiencia. La escalada mejora el enfoco, flexibilidad y fuerza mental. La semana será completada con un viaje a Vertex Climbing Center (Santa Rosa). Zapatos y arneses se proporcionaran.

Azucar & Especias

Hornear es el enfoque de este campamento de cocina creative donde los participantes aprenderan los conceptos basicos de hornear pan, pastels y mucho mas. Seguir recetas, medir con cuidado e instrucciones para decorar dara lugar en una semana de exquisitos postres.

Sesion 3 Junio 30 - Julio 3 Grados 3-5

Explora el mundo de la escultura y la cerámica! Deja que tu imaginación vuela mientras gira el barro en formas creativas y construye esculturas usando una variedad de medios. Los campistas crearan proyectos que utilizan una variedad de técnicas.

Haga un recorrido por los Estados Unidos a través de los alimentos tradicionales de algunas de las diversas regiones de nuestro hogar. Paradas incluyen; el Sur, Hawái, el Suroeste, California, y Nueva Inglaterra, así también como algunos de los favoritos tradicionales.

Hornear es el enfoque de este campamento de cocina creative donde los participantes aprenderan los conceptos basicos de hornear pan, pastels y mucho mas. Seguir recetas, medir con cuidado e instrucciones para decorar dara lugar en una semana de exquisitos postres.

Futuros chefs exploran el mundo de posibilidades y aprenden acerca de la cocinas de otros países en cinco días llenos de diversión de practica en cocinar. Los niños aprenderán técnicas de cocina, seguridad en la cocina y recetas deliciosas con ingredientes nuevos y desconocidos.

Sesion 7 Julio 28 - Agosto 1 Grados 3-5 Cocinar por Asia

El continente asiático es el hogar de una gran diversidad de culturas, y una gran variedad de deliciosas comidas tradicionales. Los niños podrán explorar los alimentos de Asia esta semana, mientras que aprenden técnicas de cocina, seguridad básica de la cocina y recetas deliciosas.

$110 por semana Grados 5-8 9:00am-1:00pm Aprenda las técnicas del comercio mientras que practica en equipo y software profesionales incluyendo Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Studio y Red Giant’s Magic Bullet Suite Los miembros aprenderán los fundamentos de la creación de guiones gráficos y escritura, producir y editar sus propios videos y terminaran el taller con un producto terminado.

Ingenierí a con L E G O Rob ó ticos

Acompáñenos para una semana de creatividad visual en la aventura fotográfica de Intel Computer Clubhouse. Durante el transcurso de este programa, los campistas aprenderán las habilidades básicas de la fotografía mientras se practica en lugares interesantes que permitirá que fluya su creatividad. No solo estarán expuestos a los fundamentos necesarios para avanzar en el arte de la fotografía, sino que también aprenderán técnicas básicas de edición de fotos con Adobe Photoshop. Mientras en el proceso de experimentar instrucción esencial, se les dará a los miembros muchas oportunidades para practicar estas habilidades a través de proyectos creativos. También tendrán la oportunidad de acompañarnos en dos o más paseos para ayudar en su creatividad. No importa cuál sea el nivel de la experiencia, a todos los campistas se les dará la oportunidad de ampliar su conocimiento y en el caso de los campistas más avanzados, crear o mejorar su portafolio de trabajo.

El campo de la robótica les presenta a los jóvenes diversión y entusiasmo de la ciencia y de la tecnología mientras que construyen conocimiento y confianza en sí mismos. Los participantes aprenderán cómo construir y programar diversos tipos de robustezas usando kits de la robótica de LEGO NXT. Nuestros instructores les ayudarán a desarrollar capacidades de la solución mientras que descubren cómo utilizar la programación, los sensores y los accesorios de la robusteza..

Animación Sumérgete en el maravilloso mundo de la animación como usamos varios estilos, software y fotografía para crear cortos de animación. Vamos a utilizar las computadoras para crear figuras impresionantes con “Stykz”. A partir de ahí vamos a utilizar recortes de papel, los modelos de limpiapipas, objetos cotidianos y arcilla para hacer un poco de diversión y animación entretenida con cámaras fotográficas y de video. No importa si usted puede dibujar! Todo el mundo puede utilizar las técnicas y de software en este taller..

El Intel Computer Clubhouse está abierto diario durante el verano. Participantes en el taller de LEGO Robóticos Producción de Video son invitados a continuar su campamento hasta la tarde para practicar las habilidades que han aprendido en el taller de la mañana.

Bienvenido a Boys & Girls Clubs del Valle de Sonoma! Estamos entusiasmados de pasar tiempo con su hijo y esperamos que la experiencia de su hijo en el campamento sea divertida y memorable. Los campistas pasarán su tiempo adentro y afuera. Es importante que vengan al campamento preparados para un día activo y tiempo en el sol. HORAS DE CAMPAMENTO F Horario de los campamentos son de 9:00am a 1:00pm. El campamento es un programa estructurado con actividades que empiezan a las 9:00 am diario y continua hasta la 1:00pm. Por favor ayude que su hijo llegue a tiempo para que beneficie completamente de todo lo que ofrece nuestro programa. F Los miembros son bienvenidos a quedarse para Open Club después que termine el campamento por la mañana a la 1:00pm para una tarde llena de diversión y actividades. F El Club cierra todos los días a las 7:00pm. La multa por recogerlos tarde será aplicada estrictamente todo el verano.

FIELD TRIPS

Algunos de nuestros campamentos incluyen paseos. El permiso para los paseos se firmo cuando inscribió a su hijo para los campamentos. Si su hijo llega tarde para el paseo de su campamento y el campamento se ha ido, no podrán asistir hasta Open Club a la 1:00pm. Es importante que su hijo llegue a tiempo. Todos los campistas recibirán una camiseta al registrarse para el campamento. P R O G R A M A S PO R L A TARD E No hay costo para miembros 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm Bienvenidos al programa por la tarde “Club Abierto” del Club de Maxwell. Este programa comienza a la 1:00 pm cada día. Le ofrecemos almuerzo gratis de la 1:00 pm a la 1:15 pm, a todos los niños de 18 años de edad y menor. Los programas están tanto adentro como afuera y recomendamos que vega su niño listo para ser activo. Algunas recomendaciones son zapatos cómodos, una botella de agua, una mochila para sus pertinencias y un lonche o botana saludable. Aplique por favor protección solar en su niño antes de venir al Club. El personal del Club puede proporcionar la protección solar, pero no puede aplicarla. Los miembros pueden pedir la ayuda de un amigo. Educación de la Jardinería y el Ambiente

Nuestro jardín esta completo con cama de jardín y un invernadero. Miembros tenderán a las hierbas, flores, y vegetales y los usaran como ingredientes en la cocina.

Cuarto del Descubrimiento

Este cuarto es especialmente diseñado para nuestros miembros de 6-8 anos de edad. Desde el arte teatro a la ciencia, nuestros miembros del Club tendrán una variedad de actividades en que participar que los mantendrán aprendiendo durante el verano.

Arte

En el proceso de crear arte, los niños/as son presentadas con posibilidad, descubrimiento, y libertad. El tiempo del verano es tiempo perfecto para que todos los miembros exploren su creatividad por medio de la pintura, cerámica y la escultura.

Deportes, Mantenerse en Forma y la Recreación

Siempre hay algo divertido en el gimnasio. Juegos nuevos son introducidos cada semana con un énfasis en la inclusión y deportividad. Los de¬portes dan una experiencia que aumenta la habilidad de su niña/o de desarrollar su autoestima, deportividad y trabajo de equipo. Deportes nos ensenan a trabajar duro y divertirnos al mismo tiempo.

Cocinar y la Nutrición

Ensenando en los niños como cocinar saludable es una manera de que les interese la nutrición. Siempre es divertido aprender cosas nuevas y a los niños les encanta ayudar en la cocina. Miembros de todas las edades tendrán la oportunidad de aprender habilidades básicas de la cocina.

Club de la Antorcha

Cuando los jóvenes se sienten bien de sí mismos, funcionan más efectivamente y son más productivos en nuestras comunidades, familias y escuelas. El Club de la Antorcha es un programa del liderazgo que enseña la importancia de la confianza, tomar decisiones positivas, la inter¬acción social positiva y el desafío personal mientras crear memorias valiosas para toda la vida.

Club de la Escalada

Miembros del Club en 1-5 tendrán la oportunidad de ser parte del Club de la Escalada Juvenil. Este Club escalda una vez a la semana con un instructor y tendrá varias oportunidades para ir a otras facilidades de escalada. Todos los niveles de escalar son bienvenidas.

Club de la Escalada Superior

Miembros de la Secundaria y de la High School tendrán la oportunidad de ser parte del Club de la Escalada Superior. Este Club escalda una vez a la semana con un instructor y tendrá varias oportunidades para ir a otras facilidades de escalda. Todos los niveles de escalar son bienveni¬das.

Aprendizaje del Verano

Nuestro Centro del Aprendizaje se convierte en nuestro Laboratorio de la Tecnología en el verano para grados 1-5. Usando nuestras com¬putadoras de ASES iMacs, miembros del Club tendrán la oportunidad de mejorar habilidades de matemáticas y la lectura con programas de computadora como Khan Academy and Accelerated Reader. Khan Academy es un programa interactivo de matemáticas basado en Internet que los miembros podrán participar. Consulte https://www.khanacademy.org para más información.

Para tener éxito en la escuela y en la vida, los niños y los adultos jóvenes necesitan oportunidades constantes para aprender y de practicar destrezas esenciales. Esto es especialmente verdad durante los meses del verano. Desafortunadamente, cuando las puertas de la escuela se cierran, muchos niños luchan para tener acceso a oportunidades educativas, así como necesidades básicas tales como comidas sanas y supervisión adulta adecuada. El Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma Valley están confiados en proporcionar experiencias extraescolares de calidad para la juventud de nuestra comunidad. Nuestros programas están diseñados para contratar, desafiar, y excitar nuestros miembros, y nuestro equipo de personal se dedica a proporcionar experiencias de aprendizaje para la juventud a través del día del Club; des de los campamentos de la mañana hasta los de la tarde. El Boys & Girls Club integra varios acercamientos para infundir cada experiencia del Club con el aprendizaje. En el Campamento de Cocinar, los miembros están practicando las habilidades de la lectura y de la comprensión, Lego Robótica cumbre la matemática y la computación, y creando historia del teatro y canciones anima a miembros a emplear la escritura creativa y habilidades interpersonales. El Campamento de la Ciencia anima a miembros a mirar el mundo inquisitivamente y que consideren cómo la ciencia es parte de todas nuestras vidas de cada día, y el Boys & Girls Club puede proporcionar todo el esto debajo de una solo techo.
