Six Bus Routes — Citywide Service

Effective March 1, 2013

The City of Tracy now offers six TRACER bus routes, including new commuter routes with morning and afternoon service to most local schools. It’s easy to travel throughout Tracy for school, work, shopping or recreation. This guide includes everything you need to plan your trip.

Fares

The map on the reverse side of this guide shows each of the routes in a distinct color. All the bus stops are shown as yellow triangles along the route. Timepoints (those bus stops highlighted on the schedule) are shown with a number in a circle. Use these easy steps to plan your trip: 1. Use the map to identify the route(s) that connects where you are and where you wish to go. 2. Find the timepoint on that route which is nearest the bus stop where you wish to board. 3. Find the schedule for your route (it is shown in a matching color). 4. Find the same numbered timepoint on the schedule. Read down to see what time buses depart from that point. 5. If you’re boarding at a non-timepoint, use the nearest timepoint before your stop to estimate the bus departure time. For personal trip planning assistance CALL (209) 831-4BUS (831-4287).

Pass Sales All TRACER passes can be purchased on the bus, using exact cash. Passes can also be purchased, by cash or check, at the following locations: • Tracy Transit Station, 50 E. Sixth Street Ticket hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm; Saturday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm • City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza. Alternate Fridays closed. Ticket hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Service Hours and Days TRACER Routes A, B and C run Monday through Friday from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Commuter Routes D, E and F run only weekdays when school is in session. TRACER does not operate on Sundays or the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Passes must be handed to the driver for verification prior to being seated. Each rider MUST possess and present their own bus fare or pass every time he/she boards the bus. Using or attempting to use another rider’s bus fare or pass is NOT allowed.

How to Catch the Bus

TRACER bus stops are clearly marked with the sign shown here. To ensure you catch the bus, be at the bus stop a little before the scheduled departure time. (Do not stand in the road.) As the bus approaches, signal the driver that you wish to board by waving your hand. Once on board, pay your fare or show your pass to the driver, take a seat and enjoy the ride.



San Joaquin Regional Transit District’s (SJRTD) Intercity Route 97 and Hopper Route 90 connects Tracy to Stockton. RTD Rural Connection connects Tracy to Mountain House. The service complements TRACER service, serves many local businesses along the route and provides connections to Stockton.

If you have ever wondered what time the next bus will be coming to your stop, you will be able to find out instantly through a text message. All fixed route stops have a sign indicating a phone number in which to text your location. Within seconds a text will be sent back to you stating when the next bus will be at your stop. Passengers will now be able to plan their schedules more accurately along with the timing of the buses. Here is How:

You can transfer between TRACER routes for no extra charge. Just ask your driver for a transfer slip when you board. It is good for two hours. Bus transfers at Transit Station, West Valley Mall and TRACER stops where two or more TRACER routes provide service.

Riding Guidelines and Policies Bus Code of Conduct

TRACER buses and facilities are for everyone, however, some activities that disrupt the safety, order, or rights of other passengers will not be tolerated.

• Use trash receptacles at Transit Centers and bus stops. Do not leave papers or trash on the bus. • If you become ill, please advise the operator right away.

The following activities may result in ejection from a bus or transit facility by City of Tracy Police Department or TRACER employee.

• Wear shoes and shirts on the bus at all times.

Bus Courtesy Expectations

• Do not take more than one seat if the bus is crowded.

• Have the correct fare or pass ready when boarding the bus. • Board the bus as quickly as possible and take a seat. If no seats are available, stand behind the yellow line and use the overhead handrails. • If standing on a crowded bus, move to the rear of the bus to make room for others. • Please vacate reserved seating near the front when seniors and people with disabilities board.

• Silence your cell phones and no talking on the cell phone.

• Refrain from talking to a bus operator while the bus is in motion. Reduced Fares

Paratransit Curb-to-curb paratransit is available to seniors (65+) and persons who, because of their disability or health-related condition, (1) cannot independently board, ride and/or disembark from an accessible fixed route transit bus or (2) cannot get to or from a boarding or disembarking location. Horas de servicio y dias TRACER rutas A, B y C corren de Lunes a Viernes de 7:00 a.m. a 7:00 p.m. Savados de 9:00 a.m. a 5:00 p.m. Las rutas D, E y F corren solamente los dias de semana cuando las escuelas estan en clases. TRACER no opera los domingos on los siguientes dias feriados: dia de ano nuevo, dia de memorial, dia de independencia, dia de el trabajo, dia de accion de gracias y el dia de navidad.

Si usted alguna vez se a preguntado, a que hora vendra el proximo autobus a mi Parada?. Usted puede informarse de inmediato atraves de un mensaje texto. Toda parada de ruta fija tiene un numero de telefono al cual mandar un texto con su numero de parada. En segundos un texto sera enviado a usted indicando cuando llegara el siguiente autobus a su parada. Los pasajeros pueden ahora planear sus viajes con mas precision y seguridad. De esta manera:

Autobuses TRACER y las facilidades son para todo el publico, pero, actividades que sean disruptivas a la seguridad, orden o derechos de otros pasajeros no seran toleradas Las siguientes actividades podrian resultar en la expulsion de el autobus o de la estacion de transito a manos de el departamento de policia de Tracy o empleados de TRACER . Cortesias esperadas en el autobús

• Tenga listo el dinero correcto o su pase cuando aborde El autobus.

• Aborde el autobus lo mas pronto que pueda y tome su asiento. Si no ay asientos disponibles, mantengase de pie mas atras de la linea amarilla y utilize los agarraderos de sobre cabeza. • Si esta de pie en un autobus que se esta llenando ,muevase hacia la parte de atras de el autobus para dar lugar a otros pasajeros.

• Por favor deje los asientos reservados al frente para personas mayores o con desabilidades. • Use los basureros en el centro de transito o en las paradas de autobus ,no deje papeles o basura en el autobus. • Si se siente mal ,por favor informe a su conductor inmediatamente.

• Se usan zapatos y camisas en el autobus en toda ocasion. • Silencio de telefonos celulares, no llamar en telefonos celulares. • No tome mas de un asiento si el autobus se llene. • No distraiga al conductor cuando el autobus este en movimiento. Tarifas reducidas
