MW] Applications The Applications Org owns all the applications and features that our end users (including admin users) interact with. These are all the tools that enable our customers to store, share & manage any kind of the content in the cloud, as well as to collaborate with others in the realtime, using our single, secure, easy-to-use platform. To name only a few of them, these are Box Sign (our integrated e-signature), Box Notes (to co-edit and create structured project plans and schedules, no matter the device you’re on), Box Canvas (our digital whiteboard) or Box Relay (to create simple, flexible workflows to automate common business processes in your org). [AK] Enterprise Teams [DW] Core The Core Platform is the backbone of Box: the fundamental capabilities to organize and work with content that underpins the Content Cloud. The Core Platform comprises all our customer data, and the core behaviors for that data. Uploading a file, generating a thumbnail and preview, indexing for Search, automatically adding Metadata through Shield or Skills, creating a shared link or adding a collaborator, generating an event in the user and enterprise event streams – this is all built on the foundation of the Core Platform.


Content Capabilities The Content Capabilities team is relatively new and is tasked with the ambitious goal of supporting the Box Content Cloud’s next 10x wave of growth. We aim to achieve this by building innovative new platform capabilities, enabling our product teams and customers to build intuitive and differentiated experiences that scale to millions of users. Data Platform The Data Platform infrastructure powers many of Box’s core products and features as well as critical backend services such as search indexing, conversion etc. It handles petabytes of data and processes millions of messages per second. It enables product innovation by making it really easy for Box developers to build applications for storing and managing large collections of structured data. It manages Box’s entire events pipeline and streaming APIs for users, and their backing metadata stores. It also provides the backend for delivering all the notifications to our user applications across various platforms. Data Platform powers asynchronous job processing for all the internal Box services as well, via its Pub/Sub messaging layer and its homegrown queueing service. Monolith CI/CD While a significant part of Box's operations is managed by Java and Scala microservices, a monolithic PHP codebase is responsible for much of the critical application logic. This large codebase is contributed by hundreds of developers at Box and is deployed to all environments, including production, multiple times a day. Microservices Infrastructure The Microservices Infrastructure team has an enormous impact on the future of Box platform and has a wide scope - all the way from designing a scalable services platform to re-architecting and migrating mission critical functionality from PHP to Java based microservices. Notifications Notifications team is part of Box’s Data Platform, its goal is to provide unified end-to-end experience to all Box clients using every channel (web, desktop, mobile, mail) - “right channel at the right time”. We are primarily working on building greenfield, GCP-hosted services using Java 17, Kubernetes and various storage and streaming technologies like Firestore, BigTable, BigQuery, PubSub. KR] Cloud Engineering The Cloud Platform is in the center of everything at Box: how and where we run Box software, and how we continuously and efficiently build and ship it. It is a comprehensive platform that provides internal developers with frictionless access to a high-performance, resilient and scalable public cloud platform with built-in observability, security and compliance, ensuring that our customers experience world class quality, availability and performance. It enables Box Engineering to efficiently deliver innovative, world-class Content Cloud. Observability The Observability Platforms team provides an end-to-end experience enabling Box engineers by leveraging frameworks, tools, APIs and visualisations to better understand the behavior of features, services, and infrastructure they own and maintain. The team also helps educate product, infrastructure, and systems teams on how to appropriately monitor features and services they own, provide visualisations for monitoring distributed systems, give guidance for reducing operational overhead, and supports the delivery of unmatched availability to our customers.


SRE Box’s SRE organization ensures that Box’s customers have a highly reliable, performant experience while enabling developers to excel at what they do best — quickly iterate and deliver a world- class product. Much of our software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation. Kubernetes SRE Kubernetes SRE team at Box manages Box’s PaaS platform in both public and private cloud consisting of multiple large scale Kubernetes clusters hosting 60% of Box’s services. The team’s vision is to provide a resilient, reliable ad highly available Kubernetes platform enabling repeatability and supporting hyper growth with heavy automation and ultimately, NoOps. The role is mainly focused on coding in Python and/or Go (~80%) and Ops/Admin work (~20%). Skynet The team owns services and offerings to serve our users with deployment configurations, application management, high-availability setups, migration tooling, and effortless integrations into other platform components such as our service mesh and observability stack. MySQL Engineering The Database Operations group is a close-knit and diverse team that regularly pushes the boundaries of our data infrastructure and continually drives improvements to the resiliency of Box's database platforms. Productivity [KS] Enable Business Analytics Business Analytics Team combines Data Science, Data Engineering and Go To Market (GTM) analytics, consisting of BI Analytics supporting different parts of the business. This Team is focusing on the leveraging and application of real data in order to allow for iterative exploration and investigation of business performance across all areas of the organization. Business Systems and Operations Supports a number of areas, allowing efficient usage of systems and Box IT equipment, troubleshooting and 10X our experience as Boxers. Sub teams within this area are focusing on: End User Services and PMO, Enterprise Systems, Physical Security, as well as Technical Services enabling our network engineering, IT infrastructure and automation and platform engineering. Controllership


Controllership Team oversees the accounting activities and advises on decision making, forecasting, and budgeting at the company level, based on accounting data. It consists of Accounting and Shared Services, Revenue Operations, Payroll and Stock Administration, Sourcing and Procurement, Technical Accounting. Corporate Finance & Strategy Critical partners to organizations across the business, helping to inform, drive, and support important decisions, from strategic planning perspective. Corporate Finance and Strategy provides context and connection between functions, across time (quarter, year, multi-year), and among varying levels of data (high-level external metrics to detailed operational indicators). Linking that context directly to our corporate and business strategy, as well as objectively assessing the impact of the decision on our business. Global Security Office Leading security activities, supporting production, cloud, containers, data base security, as well as application and corporate security. In this Team we also have security operations, focusing on threat, detection engineering, red teaming, SIRT and malware analysis. People & Communities Enabling Boxers, looking after their experience starting from first contact supported by recruiting, people partners, to Workplace services Team looking after in-office and online experience.
