La Editorial Municipal de Rosario (EMR) tiene numerosas colecciones que abarcan todos los géneros literarios: novela, poesía, cuento, crónica, ensayo, literatura infantil y juvenil, etc. Además, la EMR publica fotografía histórica, documental y artística, historieta, guías, libros de arte y discos. Si bien parte del catálogo de la EMR atiende a la producción de los escritores y artistas rosarinos, santafesinos y del Litoral, su panorama es nacional, latinoamericano y universal.
The Editorial Municipal de Rosario (EMR, publishing house depending on Rosario’s local government) has numerous collections covering all literary genres: novel, poetry, history, chronicle, children’s literature, etc. In addition, the EMR publishes historical, documentary and artistic photography, comic, guides, art books and music albums. While part of the catalogue of the EMR is dedicated to the production of writers and artists from Rosario and the province of Santa Fe, its outlook is national, Latin American and universal.

No sigue una sola línea narrativa sino narra varias a la vez: el declive de una joven pareja de clase media, los devaneos existenciales del protagonista y el refugio materno por el que pareciera optar su esposa. Los objetos asumen en este contexto una singular presencia, como metáforas de las ilusiones grises, pero ilusiones al fin, propias de una época de desencanto.

Far from any search of sensationalism, the nouvelle sides with discretion and clarity; formal procedures are the basis of much of the best Latin American fiction in recent years. La historia transcurre en el Paraguay de los últimos años de Stroessner en el poder y, a su manera, da cuenta de la trama social y política de ese período.

Between the epic and picaresque, Mario Castells’ book “The Must and the Worm”, narrates the adventures of Emigdio Rivarola while describing, more ambitiously, the life of a family of Paraguayan peasants whose children end up migrating to Argentina. The language is strange and familiar at the same time. The characters speak a sweet language which is a blend of Guarani and Castilian. The story takes place in Paraguay in last years of Stroessner in power and, in its way, it shows the social and political lifeof that period.

Oral History of Beer Francisco Bitar
No ficciones, sino crónicas breves que abordan, desde la experiencia íntima, histórica o testimonial, lugares concretos de una ciudad o de una provincia. Cada uno de los narradores cumple un itinerario propio, marcado por su libre observación, el dictado de su memoria o sus líneas de investigación, de modo que la secuencia de paisajes y locaciones depende menos de la geografía y el urbanismo que de los motivos estrictamente literarios. Con fotos tomadas por los propios autores y otros documentos gráficos como tickets, planos, avisos publicitarios, recortes de diario, los relatos hacen de esquinas, pueblos, rutas su materia de reflexión. They aren’t fiction but brief chronicles which describe, from the intimate historical or testimonial experience, specific places in a city or a province. The narrators meet their own itinerary, marked by their free observation, dictation of their memory or their research, so that the sequence of landscapes and locations is less dependent on geography and urban planning than the strictly literary motifs . With photos taken by the authors themselves and other graphical documents such as tickets, maps, ads, newspaper clippings, these chronicles make of corners, towns, roads food for thought.

Esta antología significó un antes y un después en el panorama de la historieta argentina actual. Reúne tiras escritas y dibujadas en los últimos cinco años, inéditas en su gran mayoría. Sus veinte autores nacieron en la década de 1980 en distintas ciudades del país. La selección realizada por José Sainz, un especialista en la materia, ensaya un recorte sobre un campo en mutación y, dejando de lado las manifestaciones más frecuentes del género, registra los aportes de una nueva sensibilidad a la historieta argentina del presente siglo.
