Dear parents, guardians, students, teachers: Some subjects submitted some projects as final grade for the first term. Others will evaluate written exams. Students exempted with 4.50 or more do not need to present exams or projects. During final exams, students should arrive at 7:30 a.m. and teachers will be in class receiving them. The exams are applied from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The dismissal will be at 10:15 a.m. for bus riders and car riders will be at 10:20 a.m. Students should wear complete regular uniform, not P.E. uniform. 3rd Grade ELA (Project) “Wonderful Animals” 1. CHOOSE an animal to study. THINK of an animal that you would really like to know more about.
2. USE a K-W-L chart to organize your research. RECORD what you know about your chosen animal and DECIDE on what you want to know about your animal. POSE QUESTIONS you want to explore to learn more about it.
3. SORT through books, websites, and other materials you have collected, and CHOOSE those that contain information about your chosen animal. 4. COLLECT information about the animal. RECORD what you have learned. EXPLORE appropriate videos and record this information as well. 5. REVISE and EDIT the information you have recorded. 6. CHOOSE one way to PRESENT your findings effectively to your audience: - Small model of animal + small display board + oral presentation (1-2 minutes) - Large tri-fold display board + oral presentation (1-2 minutes) - PowerPoint with information and pictures + oral presentation (1-2 minutes) 7. Students will EVALUATE their work on an ongoing basis. They will DECIDE what is going well and what needs further attention. At the end of the process they will REFLECT on what they learned and accomplished.
8. Each student will get two grades, one in ELA (written report) and one in SCIENCE (oral presentation). 9. The FINAL PRODUCT will be presented on Monday, November 30th, 2015.

Science and ELA (Project) Animal (Science) Is the animal inverebrate or vertebrate? What does it look like and it's life span and cold/warm blooded? Habitat (Science) Where on the planet does the animal live and in what type of biome. Please ask for help if you need assistance determining the biome or location of where your animal lives.
