CBSE HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAM

In compliance to the initiative undertaken by Ayushman Bharat in concord with CIET and NCERT, Mrs. Sunita Anand, Principal Doon Public School, Panchkula, zealously participated in a 5- day training programme on Health and Wellness which was held w.e.f 22.08.22 to 26.08.22. The Health and Wellness Program launched by CBSE aimed at supporting the holistic development of school going children. Under this initiative, a series of workshops and activities based on varied themes were were undertaken in the school. School Principal in collaboration with the core team members such as Vice- Principal, Coordinators and Mentors, took a meeting with the staff members to disseminate the themes to the respective teachers, to further carry on the initiative. Theme- Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi POSHAN Abhiyaan is Government of India’s flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister. POSHAN(Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition) ABHIYAAN aims to address the challenges of malnutrition in the masses. Focusing on the said aims of POSHAN Abhiyaan, DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL supported the Prime Minister's program to strengthen the nutritional content and enlightened the students through numerous ways, with an immense focus on developing practices that nurture health, wellness and immunity to disease and malnutrition. September, 2022 month was dedicated to this move and was commemorated as POSHAN MAAH in the school, during which varied activities such as Poster making, Slogan writing, Essay writing, Bulletin board decorations etc. were administered in the school. Nutrition –POSHAN Abhiyaan was launched as a multi-ministerial convergence mission, with the overarching vision to make India malnutrition free by 2022.

Theme-NUTRITION TALK Adhering to the lines of promoting Eat Right India, in which everyone has a role to play, DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL promoted this cause as a powerful social influencer, no less than a celebrity role model, especially for the young juveniles of the school. The sole aim was to encourage the school and to create an environment of healthy and safe food. It engaged, excited and enabled the students to inculcate habits on food and nutrition, and proved to be instrumental in bringing about a social change by promoting the right eating habits among students. The sole aim was to disseminate clear and simple messages on foods to eat and foods to avoid like high fat, sugar and salt foods and elimination of trans fats from our diets not only amongst the students, but the parents as well. A special Class wise interactive session on 'NUTRITION TALK' was undertaken by the school for the parents. All the Class Incharges had a healthy discourse with the parents of their respective classes, on food and nutrition.

Theme-INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS SPECIAL ASSEMBLY on INTERPERSONALRELATIONSHIP S at DOON With an aim to foster mutual respect, trust, and loyalty with all their support, care, and love, amongst the young learners, Doon Public School, conducted a week long campaign in the month of November, 2022, on IP Relationships. Students of classes IIIXII were counselled effectively during the morning assembly through a healthy discourse on the said topic, not only by the facilitators- the teachers but also by the respected Principal Mrs.SunitaAnand, through a thoughtful and invoking talk on the topic and it really worked wonders. Overall, the campaign aimed at infusing love, care, mutual sharing, cooperation and respect in the students, towards their teachers, peers, family & pets. The sole aim was to sensitize the students towards nurturing their valuable relationships in life- may it be home, school, society or community, by spending gadget free time with their loved ones.

Theme-Hand Hygiene & Cleanliness Etiquettes One of the most important steps to keep staff and children in schools and early care and education programs healthy is cleaning hands at key times with soap and water forat least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Doon Public School promotes hand hygiene in the School by teaching and reinforcing handwashing at the required times. Moreover, in order to inculcate the habit of keeping their surroundings clean and green, the school nowhere lags behind in taking the onus to inculcate the cleanliness habits in the students.
