"How do i sleep?" Didn't that question strike you, or didn't you get a little curious? Why don't we take you on a quick tour inside you and get to know more about "How do we sleep?'' With Booklet 1

Sleeping Just as your body needs food to do his work, your mind needs rest to continue working and it's ....................... A one third of your life is sleep! 2 Sleep is accomplished by the secretion of a hormone called Melatonin It is found naturally in the human body or as a dietary supplement

But We learned how the body sleeps which is done by secreting the hormone that called Melatonin Whatis that hormone that can inhibit the full body work ?! 3

C H N O 13 16 2 2 MELATONIN It is the hormone that is responsible for the sleep process, which can't take place without it 4 What exactly is Melatonin?

Pineal gland 5 How is Melatonin produced? -It's located in a bony cavity in the human skull below the brain -It's called the third eye - Light slows down the pineal gland's production of Melatonin, and in the dark it's activated There the hormone melatonin is produced

C H N O 11 12 2 2 Tryptophan An important amino acid found in food and transported through the blood to the pineal gland 6 How is melatonin produced? Originally it's derived from tryptophan

Suprachiasmatic Nucleus (SCN) -Located in the anterior part of the hypothalamus -It regulates most of the body's biological clock patterns -It contains 2000 neurons -It makes us feel sleep or awake (Double process) The Responsible for the time of Melatonin secretion

12:00 14:00 20:00 3:00 7:00 12:00 80 60 40 20 0 Time per day )M ela t o nin (p g / ml 9 The period of Melatonin production The production begins specifically in the dark and decreases in the light, and this is related to the biological clock Through which you let us know when we sleep, and it decreases in the morning to let us know that it's the time to wake up When melatonin production reaches a higher level and stabilizes, sleep becomes more efficient

10 Pineal Gland The process of Melatonin secretion Not exposed to the light Firing signals from retina It moves to the suprachiasmatic nucleus It goes to the pineal gland Secretion the Melatonin hormone

11 When the rate of Melatonin secretion increases, the body sends nerve signals to the rest of the brain, entering the neurons into a latency period or Resting potential when the nerve impulse stops

Cl Sodium ions - Organic ions Potassium ions Calcium ions Chlorine ions inside Outside 12 Axon of a nerve cell

Organic ions And they have the highest concentration When the nerve cell membrane in the rest it allows some charges to pass through it inside Outside

14 ''When the nerve cell membrane in the rest mode, it allows some charges to pass through it'' But how do the shipments pass? Chemical force (Diffusion)

In short Melatonin=Sleep Let's amend on this phrase because Not only Melatonin is responsible for sleep! 15 We have his supportive Adenosine

C H N O 10 13 5 4 Adenosine 16 Responsible of reducing the activity of nerve cells, which leads to their lethargy, and you can found it on the Dendrite Appendages of the nerve cell, and it associated with some inhibitory proteins that increase its effectiveness Adenosine

Adenosine = Sleep
