Explain how we become stronger when we are faced with difficult time in life FARHANISA BINTI MOHD MUZAFFAR PPISMP 1.02 AMBILAN JUN 2021

Like physical health, mental toughness must be worked toward, Amy Morin said in her quotes since she is a psychotherapist, mental strength trainer, and international bestselling author. . Based on that we can simply say that we always worry and take care more of our physical health that we learn such as eat a healthy food , having some exercise and protect our body from getting injured. But , we also should take care of our mental health carefully and strategically because it is really important as we should include our physical and mental health through our body to make it balance for the upcoming life . In that case , psychotherapist and social worker Amy Morin in her best seller “ 13 things Strong People Don’t Do ” wrote that developing mental strength requires a "three-pronged approach." It's about controlling your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions . People have two choices when they faced with difficult time whether they want to be more stronger or weaker . Stonger is the definition for a person that born again as a better and successly pass the difficult time in life . The question is “how we become stronger when we are faced difficult time ?” The answer are we become stronger when we can control our emotion , we also will be a person that learn from experience and we do not give up after first failure.

Beside that , we can know that we became stronger after our difficult time is when we will never repeat the same mistake . It is because we have learned from the experience of having a difficult time in life as the experience make us be a better or mature person as we always careful and reflect ourself before doing something . Reflecting can ensure you don't repeat your mistakes. It's important to study what went wrong, what you could have done better, when did it wrong , why did it go wrong and how to do it differently next time . It is based on an article from mindtools .com 5 Whys describes a straightforward yet powerful tool for identifying the causes of simple or moderately difficult problems . To use it , start with the error and keep asking “Why?” untill you get to the root cause . One of the way to reflect our mistake was by taking about fifteen minute everyday to list a mistake for that day and try to prevent from doing it tomorrow even before we go to bed . Research by Giada Di Stefano , Francesca Gino , Gary Pisano and Bradley Staats who is an Associate Professor of Strategy at Bocconi University in call centers demonstrated that employees who spent 15 minutes at the end of the day reflecting about lessons learned performed 23 % better after 10 days than those who did not reflect.

We can get the inspiration from Muniba Mazari who is a Pakistani activist, anchor artist, model, singer and motivational speaker. She became the National Ambassador for UN Women Pakistan after being shortlisted in the 100 Inspirational Women of 2015 by BBC. Her experience about she had an accident that caused from her husband that she married in a very young age which 18 years old . Her radius ulna of my right arm were fractured , the wrist was fractured , shoulder bone and collarbone were fractured , my whole ribcage got fractured and rib cage injury , lungs and liver were badly injured and a lot of injuries that change her life into a person that sat on the wheelchair but give the inspiration to other people so that people not repeat the same mistake choosing the wrong person in life as a partner . As Muniba Mazari. , she choose the wrong because husband because he left her alone in the condition that need a support while her husband is the causes of the accident . In short , never repeat the same mistake is the sign we had become stronger as we move on fromthebadpast.

Nevertheless , we become stronger when we are faced with difficult time by we able to control our emotion . This is because we already know that emotion can kill us back especially in term of handle the challenges in life and making decision . Everyone have their own challenges wheather it is small matter or big matter but we must handle it calmly and relax because every problem have the way to solve it . Before we solve it , we need to balance the emotion to make us think positive . In term of making decision or face a challenges , good emotion prevent us from decide on something emotionally . This is because we could not think properly as we apply bad emotion such as angry , nervous and fear in ourselves.If we are in emotional situation , we should sit , take a break and calm ourselves to make us think smartly not emotionally as a stronger people do when they are faced with difficult time . After that , we should ask help from the experienced people because sometime they already faced the same situation and everyone have different ideas to help us solve the problem . In addition , we become stronger as we can control emotion as we professionally making decision for life without being emotional especially when we are the leader that actually we should handle the group calmly .

Being professional is needed when we work as a team such as not angry with other member in front of other people . Instead of shouting angrily , they will easily accept the advice.The story of J.K Rowling that related to control emotion when handle the challenges . Her mother died when she is 25 years old and six months after she start writing “Harry Potter” . Rowling married after moved to Portugal but her live changed after she divorced and live together with her daughter Jessica . She became depressed and admitted suicide after she was going through a lot of challenges . The good emotion which is positive mind made she became one of the best selling authors of all time . Finally , being emosional is not good in handling challenges and making decision as it is also effect your mental health .

Beside that , we become stronger when we are faced with difficult time once we have the healthy mindset . Healthy mindset happened when someone have cleared their mind from think something bad about other people or any sequences . The sign that we have the healthy mindset is when we can accept the faith with an open heart and able to solve it strategically because we know that God plan is the best for us . It is really hard to get that healthy mindset but not so long after we practice that mind set , we do not even have to control it because it came naturally from inside of ourselves . Once we have the healthy and kind mind , it will automatically can be saw from outside of ourselves that we are the positive person such as we can smile and treat people nicely even we have big problem . A person that have the healthy mindset also can think rationally before doing or saying something . This is because we know of brain is to help us think the advantages or disadvantages of our action as we could not reverse our time if we take the wrong way. In this digital era , we can see that there are a lot of comment through media social that lead the video creator to have depression even though they just want to share the knowledge .

For example elhaslina who is a Malaysian that Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and a psychosis survivor , potrayed her agreement with Dr Nabil’s explanations by sharing her experience and personal journey in dealing with her mental illnesses . She has the healthy mind set in a way she accept the faith of her illnesses and the way she try hard to share her experience even though some people said that she just wanted attention from other people that sometime can make her feel down and she is not reply to comments rudely . In final , we can conclude that we can accept the faith and think rationally before doing or saying something if we have the healthy mind set because we have to care of our feeling and also other’s feeling shown that we have become stronger

The conclusion , is we become stronger when we are faced with difficult time by we never repeat the same mistake , we try to set the healthy mind and we able to control our emotion . From the way above shown that we become stronger because we have going through the difficult time that make us more matured since we always need to learn while we are alive . How from the difficult time can give the positive impact ? In this case , we need to find someone that trusted like our family to ask for an advice and moral support . We can solve any problem if we know that someone support us from behind . There are a lot of way to heal or protect our mental health which is doing physical exercise at least 3 times a week . For example running , walking or skipping at recreation park that will make us feel ease and forget about our problem for a while . Other than that , we can say nice things about yourself every morning and grateful for everything we have . This way can help us to think positive and have the healthy mindset as we realize everyday that everyone have their own specialities same as us . So , our duty is to keep moving forward because like Tun Dr Mahathir who is fouth prime minister in Malaysia said that success never come to us without any effort , in that case never believe in the “NEVER GIVE UP” word even though we will face the failness
