Understanding Our Site & Patterns from Start to Finish Navigating our website: New This Week – All New This Week patterns can be found in this section. We typically add 4-10 new patterns every week so be sure to check back here often. All Patterns listed here will remain in this category for 7 days from the day they are first listed.

Gift Certificates – Gift Certificates are available all year round and can be purchased in $5, $10, $25, $50, & $100 amounts. Gift Certificates are digital – and will be emailed as soon as your order is placed.

Custom Orders – At the top of the list of our best selling items is our Custom Orders. We can convert most images and photographs into a graph pattern – there are however some limitations for you to be aware of. Poor photo/image quality is among the top reasons why a custom order may not be an option. While most other companies have you contact them to get a price quote for a custom order, we believe that upfront pricing and ability to view all options prior to placing your order give the customer a better feel for the options we have available to them and how the options effect the price. We encourage anyone who is considering a custom order to please email us your photo/image prior to placing your order so that we can check the quality of the image to make sure it will work for graphing, as well as make size, stitch, color pallet recommendations for BEST outcomes.

Daily Deals – Amazing limited time discount deals that are updated daily – patterns in this section are available for 45-75% off for a limited time. Time limits are listed on each Daily Deal pattern letting you know how much time is left to claim the deal before a new deal takes its place.

My Account / Wishlist / Pattern Downloads– Some features of our site require that you have/be logged in to your account.

Making your Account – Making an account on our site is fairly simple, and there are 2 ways to make one. The most common is simply by placing an order with us, on the checkout page you will be prompted to make an account. The 2nd is by clicking/tapping on any link across our site that says “My Account”, “Sign In or Create an Account” you will be taken to the log in page. From here you can simply select to make an account. Your Email address will be your user name, and you can enter whatever you would like to use for your password. Alternatively you have the option to make your account using your Facebook log in.

One question I get asked A LOT: Why do I have to enter my address if it’s being delivered to my email? Your address is needed for billing purposes only. We will never physically mail you anything, nor do we sell our mailing lists ever. The MOST common reason why an order is declined is if your name or address does not match up with the billing address on your payment method – so please make sure you enter this information correctly if you plan to make a purchase from us.

For International Customers – When entering your address please make sure to select the correct country BEFORE entering any of your other address information – changing the country changes the address format (for example – some countries do not have a state as part of their address)

Managing your wish list – one of the features on our site that is only available to those with an account is our Wish List feature. Every product throughout our site has a link on it to add the item to your wish list.

“But how do I find the items I’ve added to my wish list?” Go to your “My Account” page – scroll down below your order history you will see “My Wish List”

Contact Us – There are MANY options available for contacting me. On HookedCreations.com you will find a phone number, an email link, and a facebook messenger link. Business hours are from 10am-5pm EST Monday – Friday – this is the only time frame that phone calls are available. Emails and Messenger are responded to as soon as I see them – sometimes I’m around outside of business hours – but if I don’t respond right away, please be patient as I WILL respond during normal business hours.

I can also be found on Facebook here >> https://www.facebook.com/MyHookedCreation

Hooked Creations Community group here >> https://www.facebook.com/groups/HookedCreation

Terms & Conditions – This is where you can find all our store policies including our refund policy (hint we don’t give refunds on digital products) Simply put – this is where you find all our “small print”

FAQ’s – Frequently Asked Questions – yep that’s right we have a whole section dedicated to help answer questions you might have about our site & our patterns. While I am more then happy to answer your emails – it’s very likely you will be able to find answers to most of your questions much quicker by simply going to our FAQ page and checking to see if your question has already been answered there.

Searching for Patterns – Navigation through my patterns can seem a little overwhelming to some because I have so many (just over 2,000 at the start of 2022) but there are a few simple navigational tools available to help you more easily narrow down your search. The first – and most direct option – is to use the search feature. Simply type in what you are looking for and search for it.

Navigating Pattern Themes – Not 100% sure what you want to search for, or simply just want to browse through the pattern collection. Pattern Themes has every pattern on the site categorized by themes – simply select what theme you would like to look though and scroll your way through the collection.

Navigating Pattern Types – This section has all our patterns categorized by type of pattern, stitch used to make them and the size of the final piece.

Navigating Pattern Details – On every product page across HookedCreations.com you can find full details about the pattern by simply scrolling through the page to find the following and more:

A: Pattern Name – includes what stitch is used to complete the pattern in the title – in this case it’s a SC (Single Crochet) pattern so every stitch used to create the image is a SC stitch.

B: Yarn Amounts – the amount for each color used in the pattern is listed in the product images. The amounts are listed in Yards – not skeins – I do not list skeins as quite often people substitute colors and brands, and every brand has a different amount of yards in their skeins. C: Customer reviews – here you can see what others have had to say about this pattern. Don’t see any reviews yet? Feel free to be the first to leave one 😊 D: Questions and Answers – as an alternative to emailing us to ask a question – you may opt to ask your question right here on the product page – this option posts your question publicly so others can see the answers as well. E: Recommended Supplies – This is the list of recommended supplies needed to make this pattern. You are of course always welcome to substitute yarn brand, colors and hook size. The Tapestry Needle is needed for sewing in your tails. F: Finished Size/ Graph Size - the finished size is approximate and may vary based on your personal tension and if you’ve met the gauge listed in the pattern. The graph size lists how many stitches x how many rows in the pattern. G: Reward Points – Every purchase on our site earns you reward points – reward points can be redeemed for Free Patterns. More info about reward points can be found on the FAQ page.

How to Graphghan – the Hooked Creations Way – While my patterns themselves are mostly selfexplanatory, I’m going to break them down and go over some of the finer points/details of how to work with my patterns. We are going to do this by going through a simple sample pattern.

Title Page A - Sample Image – This image is digitally created on the computer – it is NOT a photo of the complete graphghan pattern. Your stitches will NOT look as perfect as the digital sample. (I get asked about how to get the stitches this perfect all too often) B - Pattern Name C - Stitch used to complete the pattern – A graphghan uses the SAME stitch throughout the pattern with color changes to create the image.

Page 1 – Pattern Info D – Pattern terms of use E – Recommended Yarn Type – this is just a recommendation to achieve the size and colors listed on the pattern. You are always more than welcome to substitute whatever weight and brand of yarn you prefer to use. F – Graph Color Map – this is the guide that shows you which colors correspond with which letters on the graph G – Colors used for pattern - – this is just a recommendation to achieve the colors listed on the pattern. You are always more than welcome to substitute whatever colors you like. H – Yards of each color needed to complete the pattern. I – Crochet hook size – this is a recommendation based on what hook size I personally use to achieve the size listed for the pattern – you may need to adjust your hook size up or down to match the gauge depending on how tight of a crocheter you are. J – Tapestry needle is used to weave/sew in your ends when your finished crocheting. K – Finished approximate size using supplies listed. L – Gauge - in order to make sure your final piece comes out at the approximate size listed this is the gauge your stitches have to match.

Page 2-3 These pages give basic “How to Graphghan” instructions. This example is for a SC (Single Crochet) pattern. Our TSS, C2C and Mini C2C patterns give instructions for how to work with those stitches.

The Graph – The next page is a single page version of the graph followed by a multipage zoomed in version of the same graph. (This sample does not have a multipage version listed on it as this is a VERY small sample piece – but majority of our patterns are much larger and therefor include the multipage graph)

The Written Instructions – The written portion of my patterns is fairly self-explanatory. In this case – for a SC pattern it lists your starting chain, and row 1 starts in the 2nd ch from hook. At the end of each row, your ch1, turn. Directional Arrows () These directional arrows are simply remind guides to help you keep track of if you are working on the front of back side of the piece so you know which way to keep your tails pulled to as you change colors. For SC, C2c, and Mini C2C patterns () Even Numbered Rows 2,4,6, etc are the back side of the piece. For TSS patterns you are always working on the front side of the piece. For some reason a handful of people have come to me from time to time asking if the arrows are there to tell you to read the row backwards – No . . . none of my patterns are written to read any portion backwards. All rows are to be read from left to right as they are written.

The Color Block Instructions – An alternative to the written instructions – some people prefer the simplicity of the Color Block instructions. These instructions are followed in the same manner as the written – just broken down a little more simply. The color of the block is what color to use, and the number listed in each block is how many stitches of that color. (For a SC pattern don’t forget to ch1, turn at the end of each row)

Color Changes – Graphghans as a general rule of thumb are not difficult – though some can be very time consuming depending on how many color changes there are in each row. As long as you know how to complete the basic stitches used for the pattern – the only thing you really need to worry about is the Color Changes. Unlike with Tapestry or Machila style crochet (which also work with color changes) with Graphghan pieces it is NOT recommended to work over the unused yarn – as this can result in color bleed throughs and uses a LOT more yarn then the amounts listed on each pattern. The preferred methods for color changes with a graphghan is to use Bobbins (basically leaving LONG tails of each color dropped to the back of the piece when you switch colors, then on the next row picking that color back up and continuing with it – commonly most people wrap their LONG tails into a small ball, wrap around a clothes pin or empty ribbon bobbin to help prevent the yarn getting tangled) The other option is the Cut and Tie Method (you cut the yarn at each color change and tie a secure knot with the next color on the backside of the piece) This method is preferred for VERY detailed pieces where you are changing colors every couple stitches. I’ve been asked many questions regarding what to do with the tails/ends on a cut and tie piece as most have way to many to even think about weaving in the ends. My preferred method for this is NOT to try to weave them in, rather make sure your knots are VERY secure trim the ends short and then place a backing on the piece (fabric or fleece) to cover the ends.
