erisk is a leading global data analytics provider that provides critical business insights to tackle some of today’s most significant global issues. The company has a longstanding commitment to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of D&I. It’s part of everything we do—from how we serve our customers to how we build our workforce. We believe that having varied perspectives helps generate innovative ideas to solve the complex problems of a changing—and increasingly diverse—world.

Communities of Belonging Employee Networks offer ways to increase equity across the enterprise, building a sense of community and allyship where every voice is heard and valued. Verisk’s eight Employee Networks, representing the Asian, Black, Latinx and LGBTQ+ communities, as well as parents, women, veterans and military service members, provide opportunities for networking, mentoring and professional development for all team members. Verisk also launched a “Learning Break” series with many topics focused on D&I in the workplace including Change Management, Conflict Resolution, Inclusion in Innovation, Cultural Awareness and other self-paced courses.

Partnerships As a responsible corporate citizen, we seek to build strong charitable partnerships with leading global and local organizations where Verisk’s unique data analytics, tools, professional expertise, and financial assistance can help maximize the impact and reach of their efforts. As a good neighbor, we empower individual business units to support charitable organizations serving the communities where our offices are located or addressing challenges affecting people everywhere. A three-year commitment from Verisk is helping SEEDS— Access Changes Everything, a New Jersey local nonprofit, make a difference in the lives of promising students by giving them what their ZIP codes don’t: access. SEEDS provides motivated, high-achieving students from low-income households with access to top-tier educational opportunities that might otherwise have been unattainable because of the socioeconomic status of the student’s family. Through three challenging academic programs, as well as individualized counseling, SEEDS aims to prepare students of various grade levels for eventual placement into competitive private schools and colleges across the country. For its part, Verisk’s support will help underwrite a Verisk scholars program. In addition, Verisk will identify opportunities for qualified SEEDS alumni to participate in Verisk’s summer internship program. Planning is also in the works for Verisk to present an “Introduction to Data Science Workshop” for interested students. Over the years, SEEDS has helped transform the lives of more than 3,000 high-achieving students from underserved communities.

Recruitment Verisk is committed to diversity and inclusion in everything we do and in particular, to attracting talent into the organization. Verisk partners closely with many organizations aligned to the advancement of the D&I strategy. One of our key strategic D&I partnerships that helps to attract, retain and develop diverse and qualified talent into our business is Anitab.Org. The organization provides women and non-binary technologists with year-round opportunities to connect with one another, develop professional skills, find mentors and gain recognition. Grace Hopper

Source: SEEDS—Access Changes Everything Each year, Anitab.Org holds a flagship event called the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC). GHC is a three-day conference focused on professional development for Women in Technology and an opportunity for hiring at their career fair. Verisk participated in this important event both in person and virtually with the specific goal of hiring diverse female talent into our technology organization. We focused on both campus and experienced hiring and were able to source many great candidates from this event. Attending GHC was an important step in advancing our D&I strategy as it relates to hiring strong female talent into the organization. We feel proud of our ability to hire both recent college graduates and experienced candidates and hope to continue to grow our presence at GHC and our continued partnership with Anitab.Org.
