INTRODUCTION Tirupur is popularly known as a “Business City”. It is famous for export of garments, knitting and hosiery. Tirupur is a major textile and knit wear hub contributing to 90% of total cotton knit wear exports from India. It has spurred up the textile industry in India for the past three decades. It contributes to a huge amount of foreign exchange in India. There are over 10,000 garment manufacturing industries in Tirupur, employing over 600,000 people. In seventies, small quantities of banians and other inner garments are made in Tirupur. In eighties small quantities of knitwear mainly T-shirts are exported from Tirupur. Tirupur, the heartland of the knitwear industry in India has a supplier base which consists essentially of manufacturer who are mostly integrated forward or backward if not vertical. There are number of spinners of yarn integrating forward to set up knitting plant, textile process house and then further integrating forward to become makers of garments. In spite of the fact that the Tirupur town is reeling under acute infrastructural shortage, the Tirupur knitwear exporters are able to make a mark in the international sourcing map of the textile industry because they work as a group and help each other for a common cause. Tirupur textile industry has units all along the value chain of knitwear starting from spinning, knitting wet processing, printing, garment manufacturing and exports. In addition there are ancillary units supplying buttons, laces, embroidery, cones and yarn

processing etc. Despite being late entrant, Tirupur's annual production far exceeds that of other knitwear clusters. There are more than 500 production units which are involved in exports of knitwear from Tirupur. Entire Tirupur cluster generates direct employment for over 300,000 persons. •

Tirupur in 1981 had a meager share of 15% of the total knitwear exports from India and by year 2000 its share reached a formidable figure of 51%.



Recent informal surveys indicate that Tirupur accounts for nearly 80% of basic circular cotton knitwear exports from India. In the year 2002-03 Tirupur exports touched a value of Rs.3, 000 crores.

It is expected that the tirupur exports will grow much faster than the rest of India's export economy. The rapid industrial development at tirupur attracts workers from different districts of tamilnadu and neighboring states seeking jobs. Now-days, Tirupur is a well famous in garments and export the goods to foreign countries. Vestido is also known as an exporting company which exporting various products to other states. Customer centricity is at the core of vestido in, Tirupur and it is this belief that has led the business to build long- term relationships. Ensuring a positive customer experience, making available goods and services that are of top-notch quality is gives prime importance.

HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

Vestido Company is started in Tirupur, with the initial investment of Rs.30 lakhs in the year 2015, under the companies Act 1956. It is fully owned and controlled by Mr. I.Noor Mohammed. Vestido in Khaderpet, Tirupur is known to satisfactorily cater to the demands of its customer base. The business strives to make for a positive experience through its offerings. Vestido company is situated in the center place of Tirupur. The company workers work efficient and interest, and they work 11 hours per day. Now there are 200 workers work in different sections like power table, singer machine, checking section etc. The workers work from 9.00 am to 8.30 pm. This business has a wide range of product offerings and the product/catalogue list includes Jockey Passion Red Melange Girls Track Pant [7-8], Jockey Grey Snow Melange Boys Track Pant [7-8], Jockey Grey Snow Melange Boys Track Pant [9-10], Jockey Grey Melange Boys Track Pant [5-6], Jockey Heathered Track Pants With Drawstring Waist (Pink) etc. There are seven or eight branches are available in Vestido.The branches are mainly in kovil vazhi,nallur and kasipalayam. The company exporting their products to following places, ➢ Karnataka ➢ Tamilnadu ➢ Telengana ➢ Rajastan ➢ Madhya Pradesh and some other places in india. 7

PURCHASE DEPARTMENT

A purchasing department is the division of a company that's responsible for acquiring the goods and services the business requires to operate. Purchase department is a department they purchase fabrics and accessories to make a product. They purchase goods from good dealer so, the production can be done successfully without any difficult. The purchasing department of a company is responsible for procuring the goods, raw materials & services required to operate the organization effectively.

Now, every organization has its specific needs when it comes to the sourcing and procurement of equipment, raw materials, and services. These needs define the purchasing process and how its purchasing department functions. Based on these needs, an organization sets the purchasing department’s responsibilities and streamlines its procurement plans to guard against demand-supply hurdles.

Purchasing departments are at the centre of successful supply chain management. Typically, they help other departments identify their needs, manage the requisition process and source competitive prices, and generally act as controllers to ensure adherence to budgets. When the right types of goods are purchased, the work will continue without any risk. The primary objective of purchase department is to obtain the right materials, in the right quality, at right time and price.

As purchasing department and raw materials stores are operational departments, they are responsible to the operations manager, and in management of finished goods, warehouse is responsible to the marketing department.

All purchasing department functions are aligned with the business objectives of an organization. Here are some of the basic purchasing department functions: •

Identify business requirements for goods, materials, and services



Find reliable suppliers to meet these requirements



Negotiate prices, build quality, and delivery terms



Set up the order quantities and making bid requests on supply contracts



Coordinate delivery and storage operations



Run quality control and product testing

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT

The main activity of the production department in vestido is to convert the fabrics into finished goods. The process involved in the production department is pattern making, cutting, stitching, checking and dispatching. At every stage proper care should be taken while engaging in the work.

Fabric Purchase: The first process of the organization is started with the purchase of fabrics to make a product. They purchase accessories and some fabrics like pencil fabric, Ready fabric, Lycra fabric, Loopnet fabric in various places to make a good product. They are purchasing more than 300 designs in Track pants, Bermuda shorts and T-shirts.

Pattern Making: After selected the fabric, next process is pattern making. Vestido Owner will select the pattern. Pattern master will put the selected pattern in the product. They will put different names by their designs. For example, for track pants they will put T1,T2 like that.

Cutting: After they selected the pattern, next process is cutting. The cutting master will lay cut the selected pattern by using machine. There are 20 workers working in this cutting process. The cutting inchargers will send

it to the next

process.

Stitching: The accessory incharger will bring the particular product and their accessory to stitching process. There are various types of stitching like flat lock, over lock. This stitching works are done by 20-30 workers. They were also giving outside stitching sections to finish their product Checking: earlier.

Checking: In the process of stitching and ironing

if they

found damage pieces they will separately kept the pieces. This process also maintained by inchargers.

Ironing & Packing: T-shirts and high quality products are ironed and checked in this process. The

name and size has to be

attached with the pieces. They will put single piece inner card in the product and pack it in a single cover, box or in pouch. Thirty to Fourty workers are working to make it as a finished product.

SALES DEPARTMENT

A sales department is responsible for selling products or services for a company. The sales department, which is perhaps the most active and lively department in the companies, is where certain strategies are carried out in order to provide the necessary motivation unlike other department. The Sales Department, which is perhaps the most active and lively department in the companies, is where certain strategies are carried out in order to provide the necessary motivation unlike other departments. The effectiveness of the sales organization is a most important factor in the progress of a firm, because the final figures of profit ultimately depend on the efficiency of this department. The whole operation of an industrial concern depends upon ability of the department to obtain orders for the sale of its products. Sales are the main process in this field. In Vestido, there will be sales point. They will receive lot of orders in different parties. There are lots of parties visit their branches and purchase the sample. If they liked their product, they will give order to them. The bundle and dispatching persons are maintaining the product. They will pack it in quantity and send it to the parties. After sending the products to the parties. The dispatching details will send it to billing section.

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

A finance department is the unit of a business responsible for obtaining and handling any monies on behalf of the organization. The department controls the income and expenditure in addition to ensuring effective business running with minimum disruptions.

Besides the traditional roles of handling the payroll, income and expenses, finance department responsibilities also include economic analysis to improve key business strategies.

The primary role of a finance department is to manage money for an organisation efficiently to directly contribute to that organisation's mission and goals. The company is having accounts in various banks. The finance position will check by the finance manager.

Billing section will maintain the price of every products with their size and send the details to the parties. All the records like bills, shipping bills and packing list are maintained by finance department.

The product details and prices are send to the parties through email, whatsapp and couriers. This work is followed by company manager. After that, the details send to billing section. The following are some benefits of billing section,

CONCLUSION

Garment industry is a backbone for tiruppur city. The tirupur textile industry is at present is one of the largest and most important sectors in the economy in terms of output foreign exchange earnings and employment in India. This internship training report at Vestido is very useful experience for young people. I gained new knowledge and skills by this internship training. I achieved many of my learning goals in this internship training. Internship training is the golden opportunity to the students to know the accurate information of the organization. This internship training has helped to know about the various activities are being done in the organization. The company can provide yearly bonus to employees and this will make the employees to work happily. They will attain a higher growth in future to compete the other companies. I am extremely happy to set this opportunity and I am thankful to all helping me to complete the internship training successfully.
